    SOCIO-PEDAGOGICAL ASPECT OF THE PROBLEM OF «SOUL ECOLOGY» OF CHILDREN AT RISK

    The article is devoted to the search for ways of spiritual enrichment of the soul of children at risk. The authors actualize the problem of" impoverishment" of the soul and justify the socio-pedagogical conditions of its ecology. The purpose of the work was to study the problem of "soul ecology" and experimental study of value orientations of children at risk, filling both the external and internal world of the child. The paper used theoretical and empirical research methods. As the results of the study show, the most significant are material values. Therefore, it is important to create a system of spiritual and moral education of children at risk and teach them spiritual existence by gaining personal meaning in the social situation in which they find themselves.

    USING THE BIOGRAPHICAL METHOD IN STUDENTS TRAINING FOR SOCIAL WORK

    The article describes the possibility of using the biographical method at students’ preparation to the decision of people’s social problems who turned out to be in a difficult vital situation. A research novelty consists of using the philosophical-anthropological approach as a methodological basis, that is oriented to understanding of client as a Person, whose vital problems are related to such unsteady forms of life as a risk, fear, trust, meeting, failure, crisis, life, history of life, fate, event, case. A research aim is a study of students’ readiness to the practical using of the biographical method in the activities of a social worker. Basic methods for realization of this aim are working with basic concepts relevant to the using of the biographical method: pedagogical workshop, portrait of “Me”, collage, reflection essay. The main results of the study were new topics of students’ research works, made by using the biographical method. In practical part of researches students use the quality analysis of the personal (correspondence, photos, autobiographies) and official (descriptions, archived data) documents, survey methods (telling clients about their life, relatives’ evidence about the stages of the client's life).

    This article is devoted to the problems of social and pedagogical support for children of the "risk group". The purpose of the article is to study the potential of using dance as a direction of art therapy in social and pedagogical work with children of the "risk group". Research tasks were solved using the provisions of personality-oriented, anthropological, facilitation and integrated approaches. The program of art therapy developed by us through dance has shown its effectiveness: adolescents have increased motivation for creativity; improved data on the socio-psychological climate, and also increased the number of adolescents with a high level of confident behavior

    SOCIAL REHABILITATION OF FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES THROUGH THE ORGANIZATION OF MUTUAL ASSISTANCE GROUPS

    The article tells about the experience of the state budget institution of social services of the Pskov region "Rehabilitation center for children and adolescents with disabilities" from Velikiye Luki in the rehabilitation of children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 years with disabilities in mental and physical development, ensuring their fullest and timely social adaptation to life in society, family, education and work through the organization of mutual assistance groups. The effectiveness of this form of work with a family raising a child with disabilities is shown by teaching parents to understand their children, identify their abilities and needs for their further development. These theoretical positions were confirmed by experimental work that took place in three stages, including the social project "All together" with an inclusive component, which allowed to develop the huge internal potential of families raising children with disabilities for their more effective rehabilitation.

    Interactive Responses of Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) Plants to Heat Stress and Infection With Potato Virus Y

    Potato (Solanum tuberosum) plants are exposed to diverse environmental stresses, which may modulate plant–pathogen interactions, and potentially cause further decreases in crop productivity. To provide new insights into interactive molecular responses to heat stress combined with virus infection in potato, we analyzed expression of genes encoding pathogenesis-related (PR) proteins [markers of salicylic acid (SA)-mediated plant defense] and heat shock proteins (HSPs), in two potato cultivars that differ in tolerance to elevated temperatures and in susceptibility to potato virus Y (PVY). In plants of cv. Chicago (thermosensitive and PVY-susceptible), increased temperature reduced PR gene expression and this correlated with enhancement of PVY infection (virus accumulation and symptom production). In contrast, with cv. Gala (thermotolerant and PVY resistant), which displayed a greater increase in PR gene expression in response to PVY infection, temperature affected neither PR transcript levels nor virus accumulation. HSP genes were induced by elevated temperature in both cultivars but to higher levels in the thermotolerant (Gala) cultivar. PVY infection did not alter expression of HSP genes in the Gala cultivar (possibly because of the low level of virus accumulation) but did induce expression of HSP70 and HSP90 in the susceptible cultivar (Chicago). These findings suggest that responses to heat stress and PVY infection in potato have some common underlying mechanisms, which may be integrated in a specific consolidated network that controls plant sensitivity to multiple stresses in a cultivar-specific manner. We also found that the SA pre-treatment subverted the sensitive combined (heat and PVY) stress phenotype in Chicago, implicating SA as a key component of such a regulatory network

    Augmentation of pedicle screws using bone grafting in patients with spinal osteoporosis

    The aim of the study was to develop a new method of vertebral augmentation based on autologous and allogeneic bone chips to be used in pedicle screw fixation and to compare this method with the technique based on polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). Materials and Methods. This prospective non-randomized study included 164 patients with degenerative pathologies or traumatic injuries of the lumbar spine and transitional thoracolumbar segments; 153 of the operated patients were followed up for 18 months. In these patients, radiodensity of the cancellous bone tissue was below 110 HU by the Hounsfield scale. Patients with degenerative spinal disorders underwent pedicle screw fixation using transforaminal interbody fusion; patients with traumatic spinal injuries underwent intermediate pedicle screw fixation, and those with a loss of vertebral body height by \u3e50% underwent anterior fusion. The patients were divided into three groups: in group 1 (n=39), bone tissue augmentation was performed using PMMA; in group 2 (n=21), augmentation was done with bone chips; in group 3 (n=93), no augmentation was performed (control group). The follow-up period was 12 months; cases with fixator breakage or loosening were recorded. Results. After augmentation with PMMA, 11 cases (28.2%) of fixator destabilization were detected. With bone chips, fixator instability developed in 2 patients (9.5%) only, whereas in patients operated without augmentation, the instability was observed in 43 cases (46.2%). With PMMA augmentation, the incidence rate of fixator destabilization did not significantly differ from that in the control group (p=0.0801), while the use of bone chips resulted in a statistically significant decrease of this index compared to the control group (p=0.0023). A logistic regression analysis confirmed the superiority of the developed method over the PMMA-based vertebral augmentation. Conclusion. The use of bone chips for vertebral augmentation provides a statistically significant decrease in the incidence of pedicle screw fixator destabilization in the post-operative period. By reducing the risk of proximal loosening and eliminating the risk of bone cement drainage into the spinal canal and vascular bed, the proposed method may become especially effective in patients with impaired bone density

    UK–Russia Researcher Links Workshop: extracellular vesicles – mechanisms of biogenesis and roles in disease pathogenesis, M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia, 1–5 March 2015

    The UK–Russia extracellular vesicles (EVs) workshop was held at the Medical Center of the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia, with 56 attendees from UK and Russian universities and research institutes. The program consisted of 6 research sessions and was focused on studies of EVs isolated from in vitro model systems or biological fluids, including blood and urine. The multidisciplinary program included presentations on mechanisms of EV biogenesis, the role of EVs in disease pathogenesis, the diagnostic value of EVs, including their quantitation and cargo load, as well as the clinical use of EVs in regenerative medicine. Methodological challenges imposed by the nanoscale size of EVs as well as targeted delivery approaches for therapeutics were considered in a separate session on technologies. The main aim of the workshop was to overview challenges confronting EV researchers and to facilitate knowledge exchange between researchers with different backgrounds and skills. Given the lack of definitive EV nomenclature, specific terms (exosomes or microvesicles) were only applied in the meeting report to studies that carried out full EV characterization, including differential ultracentrifugation isolation approaches, comprehensive protein marker characterization, and single vesicle analysis (electron microscopy and nanoparticle analysis), to ascertain EV size and morphology following the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles standardization recommendations (1,2). In studies where characterization was not conclusive, the term EV is used

    Crowdsourcing Fungal Biodiversity : Revision of Inaturalist Observations in Northwestern Siberia

    The paper presents the first analysis of crowdsourcing data of all observations of fungi (including lichens) and myxomycetes in Northwestern Siberia uploaded to iNaturalist.org to date (24.02.2022). The Introduction presents an analysis of fungal diversity crowdsourcing globally, in Russia, and in the region of interest. Materials and methods describe the protocol of uploading data to iNaturalist.org, the structure of the crowdsourcing community. initiative to revise the accumulated data. procedures of data analysis, and compilation of a dataset of revised crowdsourced data. The Results present the analysis of accumulated data by several parameters: temporal, geographical and taxonomical scope, observation and identification efforts, identifiability of various taxa, species novelty and Red Data Book categories and the protection status of registered observations. The Discussion provides data on usability of crowdsourcing data for biodiversity research and conservation of fungi, including pros and contras. The Electronic Supplements to the paper include an annotated checklist of observations of protected species with information on Red Data Book categories and the protection status, and an annotated checklist of regional records of new taxa. The paper is supplemented with a dataset of about 15 000 revised and annotated records available through Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF). The tradition of crowdsourcing is rooted in mycological societies around the world, including Russia. In Northwestern Siberia, a regional mycological club was established in 2018, encouraging its members to contribute observations of fungi on iNaturalist.org. A total of about 15 000 observations of fungi and myxomycetes were uploaded so far, by about 200 observers, from three administrative regions (Yamalo-Nenetsky Autonomous Okrug, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, and Tyumen Region). The geographical coverage of crowdsourcing observations remains low. However. the observation activity has increased in the last four years. The goal of this study consisted of a collaborative effort of professional mycologists invited to help with the identification of these observations and analysis of the accumulated data. As a result, all observations were reviewed by at least one expert. About half of all the observations have been identified reliably to the species level and received Research Grade status. Of those, 90 species (195 records) represented records of taxa new to their respective regions: 876 records of 53 species of protected species provide important data for conservation programmes. The other half of the observations consists of records still under-identified for various reasons: poor quality photographs, complex taxa (impossible to identify without microscopic or molecular study). or lack of experts in a particular taxonomic group. The Discussion section summarises the pros and cons of the use of crowdsourcing for the study and conservation of regional fungal diversity, and summarises the dispute on this subject among mycologists. Further research initiatives involving crowdsourcing data must focus on an increase in the quality of observations and strive to introduce the habit of collecting voucher specimens among the community of amateurs. The timely feedback from experts is also important to provide quality and the increase of personal involvement.Peer reviewe
