In mathematics teaching, process to understand a concept sometimes will be easier if besides gave a lead real correct and also accompanied by the counter of example from looking the aspect of mathematics mistake good for student and to learn in developing values pedagogic such thinking critical, logical, analytical in exploring to born the new mathematics. We often dismiss a mistake as something to be avoided and at best to be corrected as soon as possible. Many types of algebraic mistakes and purely arithmetic ones and discusses how they can be channeled into positive, useful learning, and growing experience.     The Use Of Coastal Potency In Learning Mathematics To Enhance Social Skills Of Junior Secondary School Students

    Social skills of junior secondary school students in coastal area are still considered low due to the lack of interaction in mathematics learning. Interaction in coastal class can be done by using coastal potency problem. The objective of this study is to enhance students’ social skills by using coastal potency in learning of mathematics (CCTL). Junior secondary school sample is randomly selected from 10 classes in SMPN 5 Kendari. Two classes are randomly selected from the school sample, experiment class (CCTL) and control class (conventional teaching and learning, CVTL). Instrument that was used in this research is scale of social skills. Data are analyzed by using a qualitative-descriptive technique, one-sample T test, and independent-sample T test. Based on the result of data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of CCTL is significantly better than CVTL in enhancing the students’ social skills, however it’s still in the medium category.     The fundamental basic theory of this study comes from Howard Gardner, who introduced a theory of human intelligence known as the Multiple Intelligences Theory. This theory concludes that there are eight types of intelligence which belongs to each person. The purpose of this study was to find out the implementation of multiple intelligences based learning to improve students’ learning activities, response, and learning outcome in mathematics. This research was conducted in SMP PGRI 1 Ciputat in academic Year 2009/2010. This research used Classroom Action Research, which consists of four stages research procedures were planning, action, observation, and reflection. The instruments of collecting data were using observation sheet activities, daily student journals, interview, and test. The result of the research revealed that the implementation of Multiple Intelligences based learning can enhance mathematics learning activities, giving a positive response towards mathematics and to improve student learning outcomes.     Peningkatan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematik Siswa SMP melalui Penerapan Pembelajaran Kontekstual Pesisir

    Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa SMP melalui penerapan pembelajaran kontekstual pesisir. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan serta eksperimen. Subyek sampel penelitian dipilih secara acak dari dua kelas VIII pada SMP Negeri 1 Kapontori (sekolah sedang) dan dua kelas VIII pada SMP Negeri 1 Batauga (sekolah rendah) dan membaginya ke dalam kelas eksperimen yang mendapat pembelajaran kontekstual pesisir (PKP) dan kelas kontrol mendapat pembelajaran konvensional (PKV). Instrumen penelitian ini adalah pretes dan postes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa dan guru, dan pedoman wawancara siswa, guru, dan tokoh masyarakat. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji beda rata-rata U atau uji t, ANAVA satu jalan, dan ANAVA dua jalan dilanjutkan dengan uji LSD. Hasil analisis data menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual pesisir lebih efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematik siswa SMP di daerah pesisir daripada pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional baik ditinjau dari peringkat sekolah maupun pengetahuan awal matematika siswa.     Kemampuan berpikir kreatif merupakan kemampuan yang perlu terus diasah pada peserta didik khususnya pada pembelajaran matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada artikel ini yaitu metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa upaya perwujudan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika dengan menerapkan berbagai skema pembelajaran misalkan model, pendekatan, strategi atau penggunaan media pembejaran untuk menstimulasi kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa yang lebih baik. Sebagian besar upaya peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika terbukti efektif. Beberapa tantangan dalam usaha mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa yaitu penerapan skema pembelajaran yang memerlukan waktu yang relatif lama, siswa perlu beradaptasi dengan skema pembelajaran baru; tingkat kemampuan siswa yang bervariasi; siswa yang masih pasif dalam pembelajaran; skema pembelajaran yang hanya cocok pada topik tertentu; peralatan dan media pembelajaran yang masih kurang memadai; rendahnya minat belajar siswa; dan siswa belum terbiasa menyelesaikan soal kemampuan berpikir kreatif

    Analisis kemampuan berpikir kreatif calon guru sekolah dasar dalam menyelesaikan soal pecahan

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis pada aspek fluency, flexibility dan originality dalam menyelesaikan soal pecahan. Subyek penelitian adalah mahasiswa semester V pada Prodi PGMI IAIN Manado, Sulawesi Utara, Indonesia. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Metode validasi data menggunakan triangulasi, yaitu teknik dan sumber. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode interaktif yang terdiri dari reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aspek fluency dicapai mahasiswa berkemampuan tinggi dan sedang karena dapat menggambarkan beragam persegi panjang yang diminta soal dengan benar. Kemudian, aspek flexibility hanya dapat ditunjukkan oleh mahasiswa berkemampuan tinggi karena dapat menentukan alternatif lain untuk menentukan potongan kue mana yang lebih besar. Aspek originality tidak dapat ditunjukkan oleh mahasiswa karena jawaban yang dihasilkan cenderung sama. Dengan demikian, mahasiswa dengan kemampuan berbeda-beda memiliki pemikiran kreatif yang berbeda pula

    A Model of Plant Identification System Using GLCM, Lacunarity And Shen Features

    Recently, many approaches have been introduced by several researchers to identify plants. Now, applications of texture, shape, color and vein features are common practices. However, there are many possibilities of methods can be developed to improve the performance of such identification systems. Therefore, several experiments had been conducted in this research. As a result, a new novel approach by using combination of Gray-Level Co-occurrence Matrix, lacunarity and Shen features and a Bayesian classifier gives a better result compared to other plant identification systems. For comparison, this research used two kinds of several datasets that were usually used for testing the performance of each plant identification system. The results show that the system gives an accuracy rate of 97.19% when using the Flavia dataset and 95.00% when using the Foliage dataset and outperforms other approaches.Comment: 10 page
