Can universality of the QCD evolution be checked in W boson decays into hadrons?

Hadron multiplicity from WW boson is calculated in pQCD. The agreement of our theoretical predictions with the LEP data says in favor of universality of the QCD evolution in hard processes.Comment: 14 pages, 7 figure

Different canonical formulations of Einstein's theory of gravity

We describe the four most famous versions of the classical canonical formalism in the Einstein theory of gravity: the Arnovitt-Deser-Misner formalism, the Faddeev-Popov formalism, the tetrad formalism in the usual form, and the tetrad formalism in the form best suited for constructing the loop theory of gravity, which is now being developed. We present the canonical transformations relating these formalisms. The paper is written mainly for pedagogical purposes.Comment: LaTeX, 18 pages, some misprints in formulas (131)-(134) are correcte

Effects of PPARγ Ligands on Leukemia

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) and retinoic acid receptors (RARs), members of the nuclear receptor superfamily, are transcription factors that regulate a variety of important cellular functions. PPARs form heterodimers retinoid X receptor (RXR), an obligate heterodimeric partner for other nuclear receptors. Several novel links between retinoid metabolism and PPAR responses have been identified, and activation of PPAR/RXR expression has been shown to increase response to retinoids. PPARγ has emerged as a key regulator of cell growth and survival, whose activity is modulated by a number of synthetic and natural ligands. While clinical trials in cancer patients with thiazolidinediones (TZD) have been disappointing, novel structurally different PPARγ ligands, including triterpenoids, have entered clinical arena as therapeutic agents for epithelial and hematopoietic malignancies. Here we shall review the antitumor advances of PPARγ, alone and in combination with RARα ligands in control of cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis and their potential therapeutic applications in hematological malignancies

Abstract. Gender studies represent an intensively developing field of knowledge. Gender means a set ofconcepts and norms of behavior, usually associated with persons of male and female gender. Gender issues are at the center of a new interdisciplinary field of human sciences, called “gender studies”. The main concept of the categorical apparatus of this direction is “gender” (sociocultural sex), which involves the study of male and female behavior, thinking, and communication. Gender has an all-pervasive ability, which determines its arrangement in the collective and individual consciousness. Phraseological units are a vivid example of the embodiment in the language of characterological features of the worldview of representatives of a particular linguistic community and the means of historical translation of the cultural attitudes of the native speaker of a language. Being stereotypes of the people's consciousness, they serve as a valuable source of information about the people's perceptions, behavior and attitude to this or that phenomenon of culture and represent a fragment of the language picture of the world. This article, firstly, seeks to outline the main steps that gender studies have taken in the field of Tatar and English phraseology. Secondly, it shows the general criteria of selecting gender-specific phraseological units from lexicographic sources. Thirdly, it analyses gender-specific phraseological units nominating a male person in the Tatar and English languages in the comparative aspect. Keywords: gender marked phraseology, phraseological unit, male gender, Tatar, English, comparative study

Functional typological structure of ethnic and cultural tourism in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

This article discusses the functions and resources of the natural and cultural heritage of Yakutia. This typology is represented by natural tourist attractions, Items and Places of Cultural Importance, Items and Places of Spiritual Importance, Spiritual Values. The theoretical aspect and practical provisions that reveal the specifics of ethno-cultural regional tourism are analyzed. Based on this analysis, a model of ethnocultural tourism has been developed, which actualizes attention to the peculiarities of national culture and nature both among residents of the region and its guests. The task of developing this model is to help develop and introduce new tourist routes, create new jobs for the population, increase sales of tourism products and, of course, improve the tourism infrastructure in the region

Fundamental physical theory axiomatics is closely connected with methods of experimental measurements. The difference between the theories using global and local symmetries is explained. It is shown that symmetry group localization leads not only to the change of the relativity principle, but to the fundamental modification of experimental programs testing physical theory predictions. It is noticed that any fundamental physical theory must be consistent with the measurement procedures employed for its testing. These ideas are illustrated by events of my biography connected with Yang-Mills theory transformation from an ordinary phenomenological model to a fundamental physical theory based on local symmetry principles like the Einsteinian General Relativity. Baldin position in this situation is demonstrated

Prática de piano-bar de sete pianistas atuantes em Salvador - Ba

    Get PDF
