Using two stage sampling, the 232 questionnaires were distributed to the manager of state-owned companies (BUMN) at East Java and 108 of the questioner were returned. The result of structural equation model analysis showed that social capital affected toward career success

    This phenomenon is one of the most challenging human resources in organizational matters. One of the management challenges facing organizations today is adapting to different individuals. We describe this challenge as the diversity of the workforce. The diversity of labor means the difference or equality of each individual in terms of age, gender, caste, experience, professional qualifications and employees coming from different geographical regions. This study aims to analyze the effect of labor diversity on employee performance with non physical work environment as a moderator variable. The sample used in this study amounted to 50 employees, namely all employees of the bureau at Petra Christian University Surabaya. Data analysis technique used is Structural Equation Model Partial Least Square with the help of Smart PLS 3.0 software. The results of this study show that the diversity of labor has a significant effect on employee performance. Employee performance has a significant effect on the work environment. And the work environment weakens the influence of the diversity of labor that has a significant effect on employee performance

    Pengaruh High Performance Work System Terhadap Kinerja Melalui Resiliensi pada Karyawan Bank

    This article aims to study the effect of the High-Performance Work System (HPWS) on employee performance through employee resilience to employees of Bank BTN in Surabaya city. This study uses a type of causality research that uses a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used disproportionate stratified random sampling. Respondents are 57 employees of Bank BTN in Surabaya. The statistical analysis in this study used the Structural Equation Model (SEM) by using the SmartPLS 3.0 software for data processing assistance. The results show that HPWS had no effect on employee performance. HPWS has a positive and significant effect on employee resilience. Employee resilience has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, and HPWS has a positive and significant impact on employee performance through employee resilience

    Abstract Bak Jatim is a regional owned enterprise (BUMD) . This bank was estabilished on august 17,1961 in Surabaya, East Java. Several factors for improve employee performance can be through political skill and organizational citizenship behavior. This reserarch uses a quantitative approach. This research was conducted on 31 employees of Division human capital Bank Jatim central Surabaya. This research uses Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis. The purpose of this research is to test and analyze the role of organizational citizenship behavior as an intervening variable between political skill and employee performance. The result shows that political skill has no significant effect on employee performance. Political skill has a positive and significant effect on organizational citizenship behavior. Organizational Citizenship Behavior has positive and significant effect on Employee Performance.     The Effect of Job Stress and Cyberloafing on Organizational Commitment on Soe Bank Employees in The City of Surabaya

    This research was conducted on employees of conventional state owned banks in the city of Surabaya. The goals of the research to analyze the relationship beetween job stress and cyberloafing on organizational commitment. Data collection used interviews and online questionnaires. The questionnaire consisted of 26 questions and was filled in by 58 respondents. Testing instruments using validity and reliability tests. The classical assumption test used on the research which included linearity test, heteroscedasticity test, multicollinearity test, and normality test. Regression test using multiple linear regression analysis. Testing hypothesis using the t test. research results reveal that job stress has no effect on organizational commitment, but the results of cyberloafing found that there was a positive effect on organizational commitment

    This research aimed in explaining the influence of social cliques and social network on the success of hierarchical career with career sponsorship as the intervening variable. The design of this research was explanatory research. Using two stage sampling, the 232 questionnaires were distributed to the manager of state-owned companies (BUMN) at East Java and 108 of the questioner were returned. The result of regression analysis showed that partially and simultaneously social cliques and social network affected the career sponsorship; furthermore the career sponsorship affected the hierarchical career success. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh klik sosial dan koneksi terhadap kesuksesan karir hirarki dengan sponsor karir sebagai variabel antara. Desain penelitian ini adalah explanatory research. Dengan two-stage sampling, 232 kuesioner disebar kepada manajer BUMN di Jawa Timur dan sebanyak 108 kuesioner yang kembali. Hasil analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa secara parsial dan simultan klik sosial dan koneksi berpengaruh positif terhadap sponsor karir; selanjutnya sponsor karir berpengaruh terhadap kesuksesan karir hirarki.     The Effect of Blending Composition against Latched Power and the Resistance of Batik Wax against Cracking and Alkaline Chemicals

    On this research has been done the optimization of the batik wax waste utilization through batik wax making with blending method using bees wax, gum rosin, paraffin and lard. This research has been expected to be able to reduce the water pollution along with the decline in the quantity of batik solid waste which has been discharged into water bodies. However, research needs to be done regarding the quality of batik product resulting from a production process using wax which involves the use of batik wax waste. The batik product quality is determined by latched power, and the resistance of the wax against cracking and alkaline chemicals of batik wax product which has been used. The latched power test results from four groups of batik wax product showed the area with minimum latched power on temperature range of 50-70 ˚C for batik wax which have been made from blending of bees wax, wax waste, and gum rosin, 50-80 ˚C for batik wax which have been made from blending of bees wax, wax waste, and paraffin;  50-90 ˚C for batik wax which have been made from blending of bees wax, gum rosin and lard. Compared with wax product which have been made from blend of bees wax, wax waste and gum rosin as well as with paraffin, the batik wax product which have been made from the blend of bees wax, gum rosin and lard have lower resistance to cracking that has been observed from the occurance of yellow color on the fabric sample resulted from the dyeing process using yellow naphtol. The different result has been obtained from resistance test of the wax product against alkaline chemicals which showed that all kind of batik wax product resulted on this research have a good resistance against alkaline chemicals which has been observed from the absence of wax mass reduction of the fabric samples before and after treatment in the alkaline chemicals

    Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kausalitas dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampel jenuh dengan 42 responden karyawan Divisi HCGA & Keuangan PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) Wilayah Jawa Timur. Analisis statistik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Partial Least Square dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SmartPLS 3.0. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa kecerdasan emosi tidak berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan karir. Kecerdasan emosional memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keterampilan politik. Keterampilan politik tidak berpengaruh pada kepuasan karir. Keterampilan politik tidak memancarkan pengaruh antara kecerdasan emosional terhadap kepuasan karier. Implikasi dari penelitian yang dapat diterapkan pada perusahaan adalah perlunya karyawan untuk meningkatkan kualitas agenda yang diadakan di luar jam kerja yang bertujuan untuk memperkuat hubungan antara karyawan seperti social gathering untuk melatih komunikasi yang meningkatkan keterampilan politik . Hal itu bertujuan agar karyawan tidak mudah stress saat bekerja dan mereka dapat mengelola emosinya dengan baik. Selain itu, perusahaan disarankan untuk meningkatkan kepuasan karyawan dengan melakukan survei kepuasan karir sehingga perusahaan mengetahui tingkat kepuasan karyawan terhadap kariernya dan bahwa karyawan tetap loyal kepada perusahaan

    FLEXIBLE WORK ARRANGEMENTS IN COVID-19 PANDEMIC ERA, INFLUENCE EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE: THE MEDIATING ROLE OF INNOVATIVE WORK BEHAVIOR

    Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study is to provide in-depth analysis to formulate appropriate work regulation policies and stimulate innovative work behavior in order to maintain company performance amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore this encourages the identification of the effect of flexible work arrangements on employee performance through innovative work behavior on banking sector employees in the East Java region, Indonesia. Methodology: This study has used a quantitative research approach. Data analysis has been done by Structural Equation Model (SEM) method by Partial Least Square (PLS) supported by program computer software smart-PLS 3.0, and SPSS 23.0, in order to analyze the respondents’ characteristics, with sample size, which is 70 respondents working in the banking sector in the East Java region, Indonesia. Main Findings: We find that employee perceptions about their flexible work arrangements do not significantly influence employee performance, flexible work arrangements are positively related to innovative work behavior, innovative work behavior is positively related to employee performance and this relationship is mediated by innovative work behavior. Applications of this study: Banking management in the East Java region needs to consider innovation-related work behavior amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which is the use of non-cash payment methods by scanning the retinal eye. This study shows that in the absence of physical contact with the practice of using this machine, it can be a concrete COVID-19 era preventive solution to be applied to the wider community. Novelty/Originality of this study: The relationship between flexible work arrangements and employee's performance has been well researched. However, there has been no study on the impact of flexible work arrangements on employee performance mediated innovative work behavior and how employee innovativeness leads to better employee performance on the pandemic COVID-19 era

    Empowering Leadership and Employee Creativity: The Mediating Role of Psychological Empowerment

    Purpose: This paper tried to examine the mediation effect of psychological empowerment between empowering leadership and employee creativity Design/Methodology: This study referred to quantitative research design and used a paper-based online questionnaire to collect data from a sample of 65 employees drawn from an Information Technology company in Surabaya, Indonesia. This study used the SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) Partial Least Square analysis with saturated samples. Findings: The results indicate that empowering leadership and psychological empowerment positively and significantly affect employee creativity. The results further reveal that psychological empowerment significantly mediating the relationship between empowering leadership and employee creativity. Practical Implications: The findings of this study provide benefits for company leaders to identify learning solutions to practical solutions, motivate employees to come up with creative ideas, and empower employees. Mostly during challenging times such as during the COVID 19 pandemic, work must be done from home. The results of this study provide opportunities for leaders to produce techniques, policies, and strategies to increase employee creativity through motivation, direction, and empowerment Originality/Value: This study makes a new attempt to demonstrate the mediating effect of empowering leadership and employee creativity in Information Technology companies at Vascomm Surabaya Indonesia. In addition, the research underlines the importance of motivating and always giving employees freedom for creative behavior which is important knowledge in difficult times like today caused by the covid-19 pandemic
