    Rick Riordan's Intention in Writing Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief and the Reception of the Readers

    This research studies Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. The objectives are to describe the Greek mythology presented in the novel, the intention of Rick Riordan, and the reception of the readers. The methodology is hermeneutic referring to Recoeur's theory. It was found that, first, the Greek mythology presented in the novel is blended with American real life; second, the main character is a son of a Greek mythology god and a real American woman and, third, the setting is a blend of places in Greek mythology and real American cities. The intention of Riordan is to open up American culture that is lived through by Americans, that a part of American culture is Greek mythology. The readers accept that the novel fulfils the readers' horizon of expectation of aesthetic enjoyment and of the incorporation of Greek mythology into real American life

    STUDI SEMIOTIKA: ANALISIS "GOLDEN SPOON" PADA DRAMA KOREA GHOST DOCTOR

    Korean drama, which is one form of the Korean wave, is a favorite show in modern society today. One of the reasons why Indonesia can easily receive Korean Drama shows is that Asian culture is still close and common, such as stories that talk about love and self-sacrifice. Not only Indonesia, but South Korean drama fans are also from various countries. Seeing this, OTT (over the top) service providers flocked to buy broadcast rights from South Korean television broadcasters and from production houses. For example, a Korean drama entitled Ghost Doctor airs on the OTT Iqiyi and Viu platforms. The drama, which adopts the medical fantasy and comedy genre, tells of a resident doctor named Ko Seung Tak who is doing an internship at his family's hospital, Ko Seung Tak who also has a "golden spoon" economic status has a personality that is inversely proportional to Cha Young Min (Professor Cha). Professor Cha is described as a thoracic surgeon who is genius and arrogant, one day he has an accident so that the spirit of Professor Cha is able to enter Ko Seung Tak's body. Professor Cha uses Ko Seung Tak's body to save the patient. The purpose of this study is to examine the golden spoon in the drama Ghost Doctor through Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis consisting of sign, object, and interpretant. The results obtained are that there are five scenes of a golden spoon in Ghost Doctor Korean drama.

    Efektivitas Media Sosial Instagram Terhadap Personal Branding Bintang Emon Pada Pengguna Instagram

    ABSTRACT Currently, the popularity of Instagram is used by many people to get information or to share information about themselves. In today's era, Instagram has been used as a media for forming a person's self-image, this can be seen by the posts they upload on their Instagram account. The same thing was done by comedian Bintang Emon to make Instagram a place for the formation of self-image (personal branding). The aim of this research is to find out how much the effectiveness of Instagram social media on Bintang Emon personal branding on Instagram users. The research method that researchers chose was survey research. The paradigm used in this research is the positivism paradigm, according to the paradigm used, the approach to this research is descriptive quantitative. In this study, researchers conducted survey research by distributing questionnaires via google form to Instagram users and also watching video content owned by Bintang Emon. This study uses personal branding theory popularized by Peter Montoya and effective communication (Stewart L. Tubbs). The results of this study reveal that there is an effect of the effectiveness of Instagram social media on the personal branding of Bintang Emon by 64.3%. The conclusion results of this study are that there is a significant effect, namely the value of 0.000, and the results of the t-test and t table that the researchers obtained are T count> T table 14,324> 1,98099 so that there is an influence between the effectiveness of Instagram social media Instagram and Bintang Emon personal branding on Instagram users.     THE ANTECEDENTS AND CONSEQUENCES OF E-HEALTH LITERACY IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY: AN AGENDA FOR FUTURE RESEARCH

    As a promising area in healthcare research, electronic health (e-health) has received more research attention recently. The purpose of this paper is to develop and validate a proposed conceptual framework for digital health literacy. This conceptual framework is planned as a guide for future studies to use and validated as a foundation for quantitative studies to investigate the e-Health Literacy as perceived by citizens in Asia amid the outback of the world’s high-risk pandemic crisis such as Coronavirus (Covid19). This conceptual analysis applied Technology Acceptance Model as a basis to develop the antecedents of a healthy lifestyle among the citizens of Asian countries. This conceptual paper proposed that Information quality, system quality, and service quality will affect the citizens’ perceived ease of use and their perceived usefulness, which can affect their intention to use e-health and consequently results in a healthy lifestyle among the citizens. This conceptual paper submitted research hypotheses that will be a basis for future researches in Asia and if the framework is validated, recommendations will be offered to various stakeholders on how to improve a healthy lifestyle in Asia. Specifically, the proposed conceptual framework if validated will help policymakers to offer positive policies and procedures for the improvement of thriving healthcare industries in Asia

    Unboxing Television in Contemporary Indonesia

    This report studies the production and consumption processes of Indonesian TV content. We employed ethnographic studies across 12 families in 3 regions: Greater Jakarta, West Java and East Nusa Tenggara, to get a deeper understanding about the use of television in everyday life. We also interviewed 28 key players (TV executives, media strategists, rating agency, advertisers) in the industry to gain insights about the dynamics of content production. We found that producers are caught in a captive situation, where the powerplay between TV stations, rating agency and media strategists are proving it difficult for creative workers to produce ‘quality' content. Obedience to ‘market mechanism' (rating) still plays the most powerful role in influencing content production. Direct feedback mechanism from audience to producerce is scarce. We strongly endorse for innovative actors to break this chain

The research problem formulation is how to frame health communication in Islamic religious education in new media? The purpose of this study was to determine the health communication framing in Islamic religious education in new media. Health communication is the art of informing influencing and motivating individuals, institutions and society about important matters in the health sector in improving the quality of life and health of individuals in society. In the personal health information unit, this information is very often shared by the cyber media. However, if it is associated with the healthy behavior of new media users, it is seen to have followed.     Feed Intake and Feed Conversion Ratio of Ongole Crossbred Cattle Fattened at Different Ages and Feed

    This research aimed to determine the effect of the dietary treatments and age on the fattening process in cattle. Thirty-six Ongole crossbred cattles were allotted into two different dietary treatments and three different age groups, with six replications for 24 weeks period, 4 weeks of preliminary followed by 20 weeks of data collection at the Beef Cattle Research Station (BCRS). The experimental design was completely randomized with a 2 x 3 factorial. The cattle were placed in individual pens and had ad-libitum access to water and feed, the feeds were elephant grass and concentrate (25:75). The parameters observed were liveweight, DM intake, feed conversion ratio, feed efficiency, IOFC, and BCR. Liveweight was measured every fortnight and feed intakes were measured daily. The results showed that a 10% substitution of DGGS with cassava did not affect all parameters observed. Age did not affect the total gain. Total DM intake increased with age, although percentage of DM intake on liveweight and efficiency decreased with the increasing age. All parameters observed for 18 months old group were better than those in 30- and 42-months old groups. It was concluded that the fattening process at 18 months old PO cattle was the most profitable.     Interplay health communication in new media in healthy living attitudes in Indonesia

    Health communication has become important after two years of the world experiencing Covid 19. The quality of healthy life in the community is important. New media make good information about maintaining health. However, because of the long period of being in normal healthy conditions, many new media accounts provide incorrect health information. The research question is how effective is health communication in the content of its messages in the new media about health in the post-pandemic period against the healthy living attitudes of its followers? The purpose of the study was to find out health communication in the content of its messages in new media about health in the post-pandemic period towards the healthy living attitudes of its followers. The concepts of health communication, healthy living attitudes, and previous research support this research. Health communication has the dimensions of interpersonal communication and mass communication. A healthy life attitude has cognitive, affective, and conative dimensions. This research method uses quantitative by distributing questionnaires to respondents. The validity and reliability of the measuring instrument is valid and reliable so that it can be continued to the next statistical analysis. The results of descriptive research are of good value to all dimensions, both health communication variables and attitude variables. The analysis of the next two variables is that both have strong effectiveness. The interplay of both variables is considered strong according to the applicable standards according to some literature. This means that the effect of health communication in new media is effective in influencing the life attitudes of the Indonesian people. So the alternative hypothesis of this study is accepted, and the null hypothesis is rejected. The results of this study are related to previous studies. So that it can be utilized by subsequent research and health communication academics. Research suggestions can be developed from other theoretical perspectives and use other methods to enrich the development of health communication studies
