Higher-Order QCD Corrections to Inclusive Particle Production in p anti-p Collisions
Inclusive single-particle production cross sections have been calculated
including higher-order QCD corrections. Transverse-momentum and rapidity
distributions are presented and the scale dependence is studied. The results
are compared with experimental data from the CERN S(p anti-p)S Collider and the
Fermilab Tevatron.Comment: 28 pages, [12 uuencoded PS figures, 3 available under request].

QED Radiative Corrections for Parton Distributions
I discuss radiative corrections due to the emission of photons from quarks
which contribute to deep inelastic lepton--nucleon scattering as well as to
collisions at high energies. These corrections are dominated by quark-mass
singularities which have to be absorbed into the parton distribution functions.
Observable effects appear as a modification of the dependence of the
distribution functions. Numerical results indicate, however, that these QED
corrections are negligible except at extremely large and large .
Therefore it is safe to neglect the single and multiple photon effects in
scattering at LHC energies.Comment: 13 pages, uuencoded latex with postscript, 3 figures include
Observation of Scaling Violations in Scaled Momentum Distributions at HERA
Charged particle production has been measured in deep inelastic scattering
(DIS) events over a large range of and using the ZEUS detector. The
evolution of the scaled momentum, , with in the range 10 to 1280
, has been investigated in the current fragmentation region of the Breit
frame. The results show clear evidence, in a single experiment, for scaling
violations in scaled momenta as a function of .Comment: 21 pages including 4 figures, to be published in Physics Letters B.

Observation of hard scattering in photoproduction events with a large rapidity gap at HERA
Events with a large rapidity gap and total transverse energy greater than 5
GeV have been observed in quasi-real photoproduction at HERA with the ZEUS
detector. The distribution of these events as a function of the
centre of mass energy is consistent with diffractive scattering. For total
transverse energies above 12 GeV, the hadronic final states show predominantly
a two-jet structure with each jet having a transverse energy greater than 4
GeV. For the two-jet events, little energy flow is found outside the jets. This
observation is consistent with the hard scattering of a quasi-real photon with
a colourless object in the proton.Comment: 19 pages, latex, 4 figures appended as uuencoded fil
Measurement of Charged and Neutral Current e-p Deep Inelastic Scattering Cross Sections at High Q2
Deep inelastic e-p scattering has been studied in both the charged current (CC) and neutral current (NC) reactions at momentum transfers squared Q(2) above 400 GeV2 using the ZEUS detector at the HERA ep collider. The CC and NC total cross sections, the NC to CC cross section ratio, and the differential cross sections d sigma/dQ(2) are presented. From the Q(2) dependence of the CC cross section, the mass term in the CC propagator is determined to be M(W) = 76 +/- 16 +/- 13 GeV
Inclusive charged particle distributions in deep inelastic scattering events at HERA
A measurement of inclusive charged particle distributions in deep inelastic
scattering for centre-of-mass energies ~GeV and
momentum transfer squared ~GeV from the ZEUS detector at
HERA is presented. The differential charged particle rates in the
centre-of-mass system as a function of the scaled longitudinal momentum, ,
and of the transverse momentum, and , as a
function of , and are given. Separate distributions are shown
for events with (LRG) and without (NRG) a rapidity gap with respect to the
proton direction. The data are compared with results from experiments at lower
beam energies, with the naive quark parton model and with parton models
including perturbative QCD corrections. The comparison shows the importance of
the higher order QCD processes. Significant differences of the inclusive
charged particle rates between NRG and LRG events at the same are observed.
The value of for LRG events with a hadronic mass
, which excludes the forward produced baryonic system, is similar to the
value observed in fixed target experiments at .Comment: 34 pages, latex, 9 figures appended as uuencoded file. Author list

Measurement of multiplicity and momentum spectra in the current fragmentation region of the Breit frame at HERA
Charged particle production has been measured in Deep Inelastic Scattering (DIS) events using the ZEUS detector over a large range of Q^2 from 10 to 1280 {\rm\ GeV}^2. The evolution with Q of the charged multiplicity and scaled momentum has been investigated in the current fragmentation region of the Breit frame. The data are used to study QCD \linebreak coherence effects in DIS and are compared with corresponding \ee~data in order to test the universality of quark fragmentation
