Constitutive parameter de-embedding using inhomogeneously-filled rectangular waveguides with longitudinal section modes
Constitutive parameter extraction from S parameter data using a rectangular waveguide whose cross section is partially filled with a material sample as opposed to being completely filled was examined. One reason for studying a partially filled geometry is to analyze the effect of air gaps between the sample and fixture for the extraction of constitutive parameters. Air gaps can occur in high temperature parameter measurements when the sample was prepared at room temperature. Single port and two port measurement approaches to parameter extraction are also discussed

Precision polarimetry with real-time mitigation of optical-window birefringence
Optical-window birefringence is frequently a major obstacle in experiments
measuring changes in the polarization state of light traversing a sample under
investigation. It can contribute a signal indistinguishable from that due to
the sample and complicate the analysis. Here, we explore a method to measure
and compensate for the birefringence of an optical window using the reflection
from the last optical surface before the sample. We demonstrate that this
arrangement can cancel out false signals due to the optical-window
birefringence-induced ellipticity drift to about 1%, for the values of total
ellipticity less than 0.25 rad

The Internet may reduce constraints on a farmer's ability to receive and manage information, regardless of where the farm is located or when the information is used. Using a Count data estimation procedure, this study attempts to examine the key farm, operator, regional, and household characteristics that influence the number of Internet applications used by farm households. The Second Virial Coefficient of Spin-1/2 Interacting Anyon System
Evaluating the propagator by the usual time-sliced manner, we use it to
compute the second virial coefficient of an anyon gas interacting through the
repulsive potential of the form . All the cusps for the
unpolarized spin-1/2 as well as spinless cases disappear in the
limit, where is a frequency of harmonic oscillator which is introduced
as a regularization method. As approaches to zero, the result reduces to

Cold Compressed Baryonic Matter with Hidden Local Symmetry and Holography
I describe a novel phase structure of cold dense baryonic matter predicted in
a hidden local symmetry approach anchored on gauge theory and in a holographic
dual approach based on the Sakai-Sugimoto model of string theory. This new
phase is populated with baryons with half-instanton quantum number in the
gravity sector which is dual to half-skyrmion in gauge sector in which chiral
symmetry is restored while light-quark hadrons are in the color-confined phase.
It is suggested that such a phase that aries at a density above that of normal
nuclear matter and below or at the chiral restoration point can have a drastic
influence on the properties of hadrons at high density, in particular on
short-distance interactions between nucleons, e.g., multi-body forces at short
distance and hadrons -- in particular kaons -- propagating in a dense medium.
Potentially important consequences on the structure of compact stars will be
