False memory ≠ false memory: DRM errors are unrelated to the misinformation effect
The DRM method has proved to be a popular and powerful, if controversial, way to study 'false memories'. One reason for the controversy is that the extent to which the DRM effect generalises to other kinds of memory error has been neither satisfactorily established nor subject to much empirical attention. In the present paper we contribute data to this ongoing debate. One hundred and twenty participants took part in a standard misinformation effect experiment, in which they watched some CCTV footage, were exposed to misleading post-event information about events depicted in the footage, and then completed free recall and recognition tests. Participants also completed a DRM test as an ostensibly unrelated filler task. Despite obtaining robust misinformation and DRM effects, there were no correlations between a broad range of misinformation and DRM effect measures (mean r = -.01). This was not due to reliability issues with our measures or a lack of power. Thus DRM 'false memories' and misinformation effect 'false memories' do not appear to be equivalent
COVID-19 in a mosaic trisomy 13 patient with polycystic kidney disease

Management can be challenging, and clinicians often guide their decision-making based on the ever-changing protocols that are tailored mostly to the elderly population. Even more underrepresented in COVID-19 research are patients with chromosomal abnormalities and trisomy syndromes, as they appear less frequently, but have risk of increased morbidity and mortality due to underlying medical conditions. We describe a case of severe COVID-19 infection in a young patient with mosaic trisomy 13 and pre-existing polycystic kidney disease, who developed severe acute hypoxic respiratory failure and acute chronic kidney injury. The patient was provided maximal pharmacological support and her clinical course helps to shape the understanding of COVID-19 infections in the setting of chromosomal abnormalities and complex medical history

Existential witness extraction in classical realizability and via a negative translation
We show how to extract existential witnesses from classical proofs using
Krivine's classical realizability---where classical proofs are interpreted as
lambda-terms with the call/cc control operator. We first recall the basic
framework of classical realizability (in classical second-order arithmetic) and
show how to extend it with primitive numerals for faster computations. Then we
show how to perform witness extraction in this framework, by discussing several
techniques depending on the shape of the existential formula. In particular, we
show that in the Sigma01-case, Krivine's witness extraction method reduces to
Friedman's through a well-suited negative translation to intuitionistic
second-order arithmetic. Finally we discuss the advantages of using call/cc
rather than a negative translation, especially from the point of view of an

Upaya Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Matematika Materi Penjumlahan di Kelas V MI Muhammadiyah Sipedang Kecamatan Banjarmangu Kabupaten Banjarnegara dengan Menggunakan Metode The Power of Two
Skripsi ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pembelajaran matematika di Kelas V MI Muhammadiyah Sipedang Kecmatan Banjarmangu Kabupaten Banjar Negara dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode konvensional dengan ceramah, tanya jawab dan resitasi yang tentunya menjadikan siswa tidak mengalami pembelajarannya langsung dan mempersulit siswa dalam memahami materi matematika, Untuk itu, sebagai tenaga pendidik harus bisa mengurangi dan menghilangkan persepsi yang salah tersebut, dengan cara memilih metode pembelajaran yang lebih bervariasi dan tepat, Salah satu metode pembelajaran yang memenuhi kriteria adalah metode the power of two.
Studi ini dimaksudkan untuk menjawab permasalahan: 1) bagaimana penerapan metode the power of two pada mata pelajaran matematika materi penjumlahan di kelas V MI Muhammadiyah Sipedang Kecmatan Banjarmangu Kabupaten Banjar negara? 2) apakah metode the power of two dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika materi penjumlahan di kelas V MI Muhammadiyah Sipedang Kecmatan Banjarmangu Kabupaten Banjar negara?
Permasalahan tersebut di bahas melalui penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan melalui 2 siklus dengan setiap siklus tahapannya adalah perencanaan, tindakan, observasi dan refleksi.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Penerapan metode the power of two pada mata pelajaran matematika materi penjumlahan di kelas V MI Muhammadiyah Sipedang Kecamatan Banjarmangu Kabupaten Banjar negara dilakukan dengan melaksanakan pembelajaran yang memanfaatkan kekuatan dua siswa atau berpasangan untuk menyelesaikan masalah yang diberikan guru, selain itu pasangan tersebut juga mencoba menjawab pertanyaan dari pasangan lain sehingga terjadilah proses saling ketergantungan positif diantara pasangan. 2) Metode the power of two dapat mengurangi kesulitan belajar matematika materi penjumlahan di kelas V MI Muhammadiyah Sipedang Kecamatan Banjarmangu Kabupaten Banjar negara, hal ini terlihat dari hasil belajar yang di dapat siswa setelah melakukan tindakan dimana pada pra siklus ketuntasan ada 15 siswa atau 47%, pada siklus I ketuntasan ada 21 siswa atau 66% dan pada siklus II ketuntasan sudah mencapai 28 siswa atau 88%, begitu juga keaktifan belajar siswa juga mengalami kenaikan dimana pada siklus I ada 15 siswa atau 47 dan pada siklus II sudah mencapai 27 siswa atau 84
Overcoming Postcommunist Labour Weakness: Attritional and Enabling Effects of MNCs in Central and Eastern Europe
Based on micro-level analysis of the developments in the steel sector in Poland, Romania and Slovakia, this paper examines the effects of multinational corporations (MNCs) on labour unions in Central and Eastern Europe. It makes a three-fold argument. First, it shows that union weakness can be attributed to unions’ strategies during the restructuring and privatization processes of postcommunist transition. Consequently, tactics used for union regeneration in the West are less applicable to CEE. Rather, the overcoming of postcommunist legacy is linked to the power of transnational capital. Through attritional and enabling effects, ownership by MNCs forces the unions to focus their efforts on articulating workers’ interests. The paper examines the emerging system of industrial relations in the sector and explores the development of the capabilities needed to overcome postcommunist legacies
Effectiveness of Web-Delivered Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in Relation to Mental Health and Well-Being: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
BACKGROUND: The need for effective interventions to improve mental health and emotional well-being at a population level are gaining prominence both in the United Kingdom and globally. Advances in technology and widespread adoption of Internet capable devices have facilitated rapid development of Web-delivered psychological therapies. Interventions designed to manage a range of affective disorders by applying diverse therapeutic approaches are widely available. OBJECTIVE: The main aim of this review was to evaluate the evidence base of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) in a Web-based delivery format. METHOD: A systematic review of the literature and meta-analysis was conducted. Two electronic databases were searched for Web-delivered interventions utilizing ACT for the management of affective disorders or well-being. Only Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) were included. RESULTS: The search strategy identified 59 articles. Of these, 10 articles met the inclusion criteria specified. The range of conditions and outcome measures that were identified limited the ability to draw firm conclusions about the efficacy of Web-delivered ACT-based intervention for anxiety or well-being. CONCLUSIONS: ACT in a Web-based delivery format was found to be effective in the management of depression. Rates of adherence to study protocols and completion were high overall suggesting that this therapeutic approach is highly acceptable for patients and the general public

Alcohol-induced retrograde facilitation renders witnesses of crime less suggestible to misinformation
RATIONALE: Research has shown that alcohol can have both detrimental and facilitating effects on memory: intoxication can lead to poor memory for information encoded after alcohol consumption (anterograde amnesia) and may improve memory for information encoded before consumption (retrograde facilitation). This study examined whether alcohol consumed after witnessing a crime can render individuals less vulnerable to misleading post-event information (misinformation). METHOD: Participants watched a simulated crime video. Thereafter, one third of participants expected and received alcohol (alcohol group), one third did not expect but received alcohol (reverse placebo), and one third did not expect nor receive alcohol (control). After alcohol consumption, participants were exposed to misinformation embedded in a written narrative about the crime. The following day, participants completed a cued-recall questionnaire about the event. RESULTS: Control participants were more likely to report misinformation compared to the alcohol and reverse placebo group. CONCLUSION: The findings suggest that we may oversimplify the effect alcohol has on suggestibility and that sometimes alcohol can have beneficial effects on eyewitness memory by protecting against misleading post-event information
Highly deformed Ca configurations in Si + C
The possible occurrence of highly deformed configurations in the Ca
di-nuclear system formed in the Si + C reaction is investigated
by analyzing the spectra of emitted light charged particles. Both inclusive and
exclusive measurements of the heavy fragments (A 10) and their
associated light charged particles (protons and particles) have been
made at the IReS Strasbourg {\sc VIVITRON} Tandem facility at bombarding
energies of Si) = 112 MeV and 180 MeV by using the {\sc ICARE}
charged particle multidetector array. The energy spectra, velocity
distributions, and both in-plane and out-of-plane angular correlations of light
charged particles are compared to statistical-model calculations using a
consistent set of parameters with spin-dependent level densities. The analysis
suggests the onset of large nuclear deformation in Ca at high spin.Comment: 33 pages, 11 figure
