Evaluation of flora protection standards in nature reserves of Central Poland

An analysis has been performed on spatial distribution of vascular flora in 90 nature reserv es in the Central Poland. A detailed chorological analysis encompassed 75 species of plants being threatened in the Polish flora (V), rare species in Poland (R), rare on the lowland (RL), rare in a given region, and species being legally protected. There have been also determined possibilities of survival of forest, peatbogs, grasslands and others flora in reserves.Zadanie pt. The Resources of Tree Stands in the Bełchatów Industrial Region

On the basis of a network of permanent experimental fields in the forests of the Bełchatów Industrial Region (Central Poland) under construction, there has been examined the structure and dynamics of tree stands, density of trees and resources of tree stands. The experimental fields were located in 18 forest complexes in different directions and different distances from the brown coalmine, in 10 forest associations. Plant cover of Struga Dobieszkowska reserve

The paper describes the values of the Struga Dobieszkowska reserve. This reserve is located near Stryków, 15 km NE from Łódź, in the valley of small river called Młynówka. There are 261 plant species growing there. 14 plant communities have been described. The most important here are the oak-hombeam forest (Tilio-Carpinetum) the and wet alder forest (Ciracaeo-Alnetum). The real vegetation map presents actual localization of different plant communities. The variety of plant communities is connected with natural variation of circumstances in the valley as well as with antropogenic factors (e.g. introduction of pine on the rich habitats).Zadanie pt. The monument trees and village parks in the Wzniesienia Łódzkie Landscape Park

The Wzniesienia Łódzkie Landscape Park was founded in 1996 within the administrative boundaries of Łódź and Skierniewice provinces. It encompasses a fragment of the edge zone of Northern Brink Heights which is characterized by considerable relative altitudes and large slope declivities. In the upland landscape of the park old and sightly trees play a significant role. They grow most often in villages, next to places of religious worship and national memorials. While preparing an inventory, many trees fulfilling the criteria of a natural monument were found. Of these only some specimens have been subject to legal protection. Valuable old trees may be also found in rural parks. Within the Wzniesienia Łódzkie Landscape Park 5 objects of this type can be found, the most valuable of them being the ancient manor-park in Klęk. Due to inadequate professional care most of them are in a doubtful state.Zadanie pt. The real vegetation of Las Łagiewnicki nature reserve in Łódź

The paper presents the map of real vegetation of Las Łagiewnicki reserve. The map has been made in scale 1 : 5000. The reserve is situated in the area of Łódź City, inside the Łagiewniki Forest, which covers 1205 ha. The Las Łagiewnicki reserve which occupies app. 70 ha, protects natural mosaic of forest communities.Zadanie pt. The vascular plant species of Las Łagiewnicki reserve in Łódź

The investigations have been carried out in the Las Łagiewnicki reserve, which is localized within the Łódź City. Within the area of 70 hectares 279 vascular plant species have been found. The statistical analysis against the ecological characteristics of the plant species and anthropogenic transformation is presented. Important part of plant species growing in the reserve belongs to locally endangered and rare in Central Poland. Among otheer there are present here species like: Corallorhiza trífida Chátel., Trollius europaeus L. s.s., Polygonatum verticillatum (L.) All., Neottia nidus-avis (L.) Rich.Zadanie pt. Geobotanical and sozological valorization of natural habitats in selected areas of the Blue-Green Network

One of the key components of The Blue-Green Network in Łódź are valuable natural areas like the relicts of the natural wildlife (called “Green Treasures of Łódź”) which parts have been preserved in Łódź in spite of two hundred years, very intense urbanization processes. The result of years of geobotanical research in the city was establishing 23 areas of nature protection and proposing of 12 additional natural areas which need to be protected (8 areas of landscape protection and 4 ecological sites). Existing and proposed areas of nature protection, including river valleys, build the wildlife system of Łódź. Predominantly the important role in this concept play the Łódź’s river valleys with their vegetation potential. The Sokolowka River Valley which is located in the Northern-West part of Łódź was the exemplary research field for geobotanical and sozological valorization of the natural habitat of the Blue-Green Network.
