LinkedIn(二〇一九年に出されたアメリカ合衆国第九巡回区控訴裁判所の判決)を題材に、憲法及び連邦制定法(Computer Fraud Abuse Act, CFAA)の観点から考察する。departmental bulletin pape

Electrical Excitation of the Pulmonary Venous Musculature May Contribute to the Formation of the Last Component of the High Frequency Signal of the P Wave

Pulmonary veins (PVs) have been shown to play an important role in the induction and perpetuation of focal AF. Fifty-one patients with AF, and 24 patients without AF as control subjects, were enrolled in this study. Signal-averaged P-wave recording was performed, and the filtered P wave duration (FPD), the root-mean-square voltage for the last 20, 30 and 40 ms (RMS20, 30, and 40, respectively) were compared. In 7 patients with AF, these parameters were compared before and after the catheter ablation. The FPD was significantly longer and the RMS20 was smaller in the patients with AF than those without AF. Because RMS30 was widely distributed between 2 and 10 µV, the AF group was sub-divided into two groups; Group 1 was comprised of the patients with an RMS30 ≧5.0 µV, and group 2, <5.0 µV. In group 1, short-coupled PACs were more frequently documented on Holter monitoring, and exercise testing more readily induced AF. After successful electrical disconnection between the LA and PVs, each micropotential parameter was significantly attenuated. These results indicate that the high frequency signal amplitude of the last component of the P wave is relatively high in patients with AF triggered by focal repetitive excitations most likely originating from the PVs. That is, attenuation by the LA-PV electrical isolation, and thus the high frequency P signals of the last component, may contain the electrical excitation of the PV musculature

Effect of annealing and hydrogen on properties of electrodeposited platinum electrode and lead-zirconate-titanate films for ferroelectric random access memory applications

The selection of capacitor electrode materials for the nonvolatile ferroelectric random access memory is one of the most important issues because capacitor electrical characteristics are strongly influenced by the electrode materials. The lower Pt electrode was electrodeposited on the Ti seed/Pt seed layer. Two different thicknesses of Ti seed layer (5 and 15 nm) were adopted, and lead-zirconate-titanate (PZT) was deposited on the electrodeposited Pt. The Pt crystal orientation with a 5 nm Ti seed layer is much better than that with a 15 nm Ti seed layer, and the deposited PZT shows much better crystal orientation. Due to better crystal orientation of the PZT layer in the case of a 5 nm Ti seed layer, a Pt/PZT/Pt capacitor well-saturated D-V hysteresis loop was obtained whereas little current was observed in the large electric field. With the 15 nm Ti seed layer, numerous several-mu m-sized voids formed on the lower Pt electrode surface. With the 5 nm Ti seed layer, fewer voids formed on the lower Pt electrode surface. Glow discharge spectrometry measurement with a 15 nm Ti seed layer shows much higher H intensity than that with a 5 nm Ti seed layer, and the H peak coincides with the Ti peak. The H existing in the Ti seed layer must have transmitted into the PZT layer and deteriorated the PZT crystal orientation. (c) 2005 The Electrochemical Society. </p

Multimodality imaging of biatrial myxomas in an asymptomatic patient

    Get PDF
AbstractMyxomas are located in the left atrium in 75–80% of cases and almost always present with signs and symptoms of a thromboembolic event. Biatrial myxomas are rare, and their incidence is generally less than 2.5% of all myxomas. We herein present a case of biatrial myxomas as an incidental finding by echocardiography where the patient underwent surgery. Echocardiography continues to be the initial imaging modality for intracardiac masses. Cardiac magnetic resonance provides superior tissue characterization, particularly important in differentiating a myxoma from a thrombus. Appropriate use of these non-invasive imaging modalities may lead to a correct diagnosis and good outcome.<Learning objective: In this report we present a rare case of cardiac biatrial myxomas. Multimodality imaging, especially delayed enhancement cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, provided specific findings for the diagnosis.

    Giantin Affects Golgi Stack Connection

    Get PDF
Golgins are a family of Golgi-localized long coiled-coil proteins. The major golgin function is thought to be the tethering of vesicles, membranes, and cytoskeletal elements to the Golgi. We previously showed that knockdown of one of the longest golgins, Giantin, altered the glycosylation patterns of cell surfaces and the kinetics of cargo transport, suggesting that Giantin maintains correct glycosylation through slowing down transport within the Golgi. Giantin knockdown also altered the sizes and numbers of mini Golgi stacks generated by microtubule de-polymerization, suggesting that it maintains the independence of individual Golgi stacks. Therefore, it is presumed that Golgi stacks lose their independence following Giantin knockdown, allowing easier and possibly increased transport among stacks and abnormal glycosylation. To gain structural insights into the independence of Golgi stacks, we herein performed electron tomography and 3D modeling of Golgi stacks in Giantin knockdown cells. Compared with control cells, Giantin-knockdown cells had fewer and smaller fenestrae within each cisterna. This was supported by data showing that the diffusion rate of Golgi membrane proteins is faster in Giantin-knockdown Golgi, indicating that Giantin knockdown structurally and functionally increases connectivity among Golgi cisternae and stacks. This increased connectivity suggests that contrary to the cis-golgin tether model, Giantin instead inhibits the tether and fusion of nearby Golgi cisternae and stacks, resulting in transport difficulties between stacks that may enable the correct glycosylation of proteins and lipids passing through the Golgi
