Single photo and electroproduction of pions at EBAC@JLAB
Within the Excited Baryon Analysis Center we have performed a dynamical
coupled-channels analysis of the available data in the region of
1.6 GeV and 1.45 (GeV/c). The channels included are
, , , and which has , , and components. With the hadronic parameters of the model
determined in our previous investigations of reaction, we have
found that the available data in the considered 1.6 GeV region can be
fitted well by only adjusting the bare helicity amplitudes
for the lowest states in , , and
partial waves. The meson cloud effect, as required by the unitarity conditions,
on the form factors are examined.Comment: 6 pages, invited talk at NSTAR 2009, Beijing (China), 2009, to appear

Quantum annealing for the number-partitioning problem using a tunable spin glass of ions
Exploiting quantum properties to outperform classical ways of information processing is an outstanding goal of modern physics. A promising route is quantum simulation, which aims at implementing relevant and computationally hard problems in controllable quantum systems. Here we demonstrate that in a trapped ion setup, with present day technology, it is possible to realize a spin model of the Mattis-type that exhibits spin glass phases. Our method produces the glassy behaviour without the need for any disorder potential, just by controlling the detuning of the spin-phonon coupling. Applying a transverse field, the system can be used to benchmark quantum annealing strategies which aim at reaching the ground state of the spin glass starting from the paramagnetic phase. In the vicinity of a phonon resonance, the problem maps onto number partitioning, and instances which are difficult to address classically can be implemented

Non-Abelian spin singlet states of two-component Bose gases in artificial gauge fields
We study strongly correlated phases of a pseudo-spin-1/2 Bose gas in an
artificial gauge field using the exact diagonalization method. The atoms are
confined in two dimensions and interact via a two-body contact potential. In
Abelian gauge fields, pseudo-spin singlets are favored by pseudo-spin
independent interactions. We find a series of incompressible phases at fillings
\nu=2k/3. By comparison with the non-Abelian spin singlet (NASS) states,
constructed as zero-energy eigenstates of a (k+1)-body contact interaction, we
classify the non-trivial topology of the states. An additional spin-orbit
coupling is shown to switch between NASS-like states and spin-polarized phases
from the Read-Rezayi series.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure

Continuity of care in minors with neuropsychiatric problems: A clinical case
Introduction: Up to one third of children and adolescents have a mental disorder, with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder being one of the most prevalent. This disorder increases the risk of neuropsychiatric comorbidities that alter academic and social functioning, making regular schooling difficult due to the lack of resources and specific care programmes. Objective: to demonstrate the lack of continuity of comprehensive care in children with neuropsychiatric problems and to propose a care plan: a case study. Case description: Y. L., a 9-year-old boy with a history of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and 47XXX syndrome who presented a psychotic outbreak at school and was referred to the child and adolescent psychiatry unit for admission. Results: Although Y. L. was a mental health user and received multidisciplinary care, the prodromal symptomatology before the psychotic break was not identified. He was not referred to the child and adolescent mental health nurse at discharge, so Any staff nurse made no individualised care plan to facilitate his recovery process. Conclusion: For an adequatemental health recovery, it is necessary to plan care plans from the community and person-centred care that guarantees the continuity of comprehensive care before, during and after hospital discharge. Given the possibilities of the mental health care network, the school nurse is presented as a link between the care team, the teaching team, the child and his/her family, favouring early identification and referral to the child and adolescent mental health nurse and the monitoring of the care plan designed by the specialist nurse in the child's natural environment in favour of inclusion in their familiar educational environment
Electroexcitation of the Roper resonance from CLAS data
The helicity amplitudes of the electroexcitation of the Roper resonance on
proton are extracted at 1.7 < Q2 < 4.2 GeV2 from recent high precision
JLab-CLAS cross sections data and longitudinally polarized beam asymmetry for
pi+ electroproduction on protons. The analysis is made using two approaches,
dispersion relations and unitary isobar model, which give consistent results.
It is found that the transverse helicity amplitude for the gamma* p -->
P11(1440) transition, which is large and negative at Q2=0, becomes large and
positive at Q2 ~ 2 GeV2, and then drops slowly with Q2. Longitudinal helicity
amplitude, that was previously found from CLAS data as large and positive at
Q2=0.4,0.65 GeV2, drops with Q2. These results rule out the presentation of
P11(1440) as a 3qG hybrid state, and provide strong evidence in favor of this
resonance as a first radial excitation of the 3q ground state.Comment: 3 pages, 2 figures, Talk on the Workshop on "The Physics of Excited

Topological phases of lattice bosons with a dynamical gauge field
Optical lattices with a complex-valued tunneling term have become a standard way of studying gauge-field physics with cold atoms. If the complex phase of the tunneling is made density dependent, such a system features even a self-interacting or dynamical magnetic field. In this paper we study the scenario of a few bosons in either a static or a dynamical gauge field by means of exact diagonalization. The topological structures are identified computing their Chern number. Upon decreasing the atom-atom contact interaction, the effect of the dynamical gauge field is enhanced, giving rise to a phase transition between two topologically nontrivial phases
The (defeated) winners of the Civil War: The Falangists. Imaginary and representation
The different families which had concurred in supporting the cause of the rebelled militia against the Second Republic became what has been called Franco´s regime. It is from those war victorious families that became, without a doubt, unusually prominent the Falange, known as “the Movement” (from 1937 as “Traditionalist Spanish Falange” and of the “JONS (Committee of the National-Syndicalist Offensive)”, after its unification with the Carlists), which had turned from a minority fascist party to one of masses in the post-war period. The military triumph led them to try to impose their political ideology through culture and mass media. The representation of the war and the ideology of the Falange in the film industry is clearly going to show us its short life and its quick defeat against the conservatism of Franco´s regime, through a series of selected films arranging from Frente de Madrid
—Carmen fra i rossi— (1940) to La prima Angélica (1974). José Antonio´s
Falange won the war but got lost in the peace; therefore, it would focus on being the social base of Franco´s regime (through its feminine section), albeit divested of everything which made it the first Spanish fascist part
