Parameter estimation in nonlinear time-varying systems through Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models and wavelets
In this paper, a parameter estimation problem for a Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy dynamic system is formulated under the assumption that the premises in the membership functions are known. A linear expression in consequent parameters is obtained under this assumption. If the system is time-varying, the parameters can be determined by recursive estimation techniques. As an alternate approach, the use of multi-resolution wavelets is proposed. Furthermore, a parameter estimation toolbox for fuzzy dynamic models is developed which is then applied to a simple example and to the Mackey-Glass chaotic time series.
New records for Bostryx holostoma (Pfeiffer, 1846), Pupoides minimus (Philippi, 1860), Stephacharopa calderaensis Miquel & Araya, 2013 and an unidentified charopid species are presented on the basis of specimens collected near the city of Antofagasta, in northern Chile. This is the first record for S. calderaensis after its description, extending its known distribution about 350 km northwards. Details on the protoconch of B. holostoma are presented for the first time, and this species extends its distributional range 145 km southwards. The microhabitat of these species in litho-refugia may explain the presence of these minute terrestrial mollusks in hyper arid northern Chile, further highlighting the need of additional studies of this neglected fauna.Fil: Araya, Juan Francisco.
Course Conclusion Work that conducted an exploratory, comparative anda qualitative
research on the perception of Science and physical education teachers in primary
school in Chile (Puente Alto-Santiago de Chile) and Brazil (Foz do Iguaçu-Paraná) on
the subject of eating and nutrition and inserting it in the textbooks, also with the
analysis of the government documents, such as the Curriculum Guidelines, Dietary
Guidelines and National Food Program. At first a bibliographic research was
conducted about the topics, then semi-structured interviews were applied to Chilean
and Brazilians teachers and then the speech of those teachers was analyzed using
content analysis of Bardin. The textbooks were analyzed from the point of view of
categories about the topics found in them. The results of the literature and content
analysis of speeches and books research are presented by comparative tables and
texts covering socio-bio-political aspects in each reality analyzed, such as the
presence of aspects of PCN in the didactic material, Alimentares Guides relationship
to teaching practice, teacher training and major challenges for the teaching of these
topics in the school environment; was verified that exists a lack of preparation of
teachers and a lack of public policies to remedy the situation

Effect of Terminal Groups of Dendrimers in the Complexation with Antisense Oligonucleotides and Cell Uptake
Indexación: Web of Science.Poly(amidoamine) dendrimers are the most recognized class of dendrimer. Amino-terminated (PAMAM-NH2) and hydroxyl-terminated (PAMAM-OH) dendrimers of generation 4 are widely used, since they are commercially available. Both have different properties, mainly based on their different overall charges at physiological pH. Currently, an important function of dendrimers as carriers of short single-stranded DNA has been applied. These molecules, known as antisense oligonucleotides (asODNs), are able to inhibit the expression of a target mRNA. Whereas PAMAM-NH2 dendrimers have shown to be able to transfect plasmid DNA, PAMAM-OH dendrimers have not shown the same successful results. However, little is known about their interaction with shorter and more flexible molecules such as asODNs. Due to several initiatives, the use of these neutral dendrimers as a scaffold to introduce other functional groups has been proposed. Because of its low cytotoxicity, it is relevant to understand the molecular phenomena involving these types of dendrimers. In this work, we studied the behavior of an antisense oligonucleotide in presence of both types of dendrimers using molecular dynamics simulations, in order to elucidate if they are able to form stable complexes. In this manner, we demonstrated at atomic level that PAMAM-NH2, unlike PAMAM-OH, could form a well-compacted complex with asODN, albeit PAMAM-OH can also establish stable interactions with the oligonucleotide. The biological activity of asODN in complex with PAMAM-NH2 dendrimer was also shown. Finally, we revealed that in contact with PAMAM-OH, asODN remains outside the cells as TIRF microscopy results showed, due to its poor interaction with this dendrimer and cell membranes.http://nanoscalereslett.springeropen.com/articles/10.1186/s11671-016-1260-
Electrochemical Hydrogen Evolution over Hydrothermally Synthesized Re-Doped MoS2 Flower-Like Microspheres
In this research, we report a simple hydrothermal synthesis to prepare rhenium (Re)- doped MoS2 flower-like microspheres and the tuning of their structural, electronic, and electrocatalytic properties by modulating the insertion of Re. The obtained compounds were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Structural, morphological, and chemical analyses confirmed the synthesis of poorly crystalline Re-doped MoS2 flower-like microspheres composed of few stacked layers. They exhibit enhanced hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) performance with low overpotential of 210 mV at current density of 10 mA/cm2, with a small Tafel slope of 78 mV/dec. The enhanced catalytic HER performance can be ascribed to activation of MoS2 basal planes and by reduction in charge transfer resistance during HER upon doping
