    Protocol for systematic review: peak bone mass pattern in different parts of the world

Peak bone mass, which can be defined as the amount of bone tissue present at the end of the skeletal maturation, and also it is an important determinant of osteoporotic fracture risk. The peak bone mass of a given part of the skeleton is directly dependent upon both its genetics and environmental factors. Therefore, the aim of the proposed research is a comprehensive systematic assessment of the pattern of peak bone mass in different countries across the globe.     Association of lipid accumulation product with cardio-metabolic risk factors in postmenopausal women

    The lipid accumulation product is a novel, safe and inexpensive index of central lipid over accumulation based on waist circumference and fasting concentration of circulating triglycerides. This study was designed to investigate the ability of lipid accumulation product to predict Cardio-metabolic risk factors in postmenopausal women. In this Cross-sectional study, 264 postmenopausal women by using convenience sampling method were selected from menopause clinic in Tehran. Cardio-metabolic risk factors were measured, and lipid accumulation product (waist-58�triglycerides nmol/L) was calculated. Optimal cut-off point of lipid accumulation product for predicting metabolic syndrome was estimated by ROC (Receiveroperating characteristic) curve analysis. Metabolic syndrome was diagnosed in 41.2% of subjects. Optimal cut-off point of lipid accumulation product for predicting metabolic syndrome was 47.63 (sensitivity:75%; specificity:77.9%). High lipid accumulation product increases risk of all Cardio-metabolic risk factors except overweight, high Total Cholesterol, high Low Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol and high Fasting Blood Sugar in postmenopausal women. Our findings show that lipid accumulation product is associated with metabolic syndrome and some Cardio-metabolic risk factors Also lipid accumulation product may have been a useful tool for predicting cardiovascular disease and metabolic syndrome risk in postmenopausal women. © 2016 Tehran University of Medical Sciences.     Forced Convection Heat Transfer of Giesekus Viscoelastic Fluid in Concentric Annulus with both Cylinders Rotation

    A theoretical solution is presented for the forced convection heat transfer of a viscoelastic fluid obeying the Giesekus constitutive equation in a concentric annulus under steady state, laminar, and purely tangential flow. A relative rotational motion exists between the inner and the outer cylinders, which induces the flow. A constant temperature was set in both cylinders, in this study. The fluid properties are taken as constants and axial conduction is negligible, but the effect of viscous dissipation is included. The dimensionless temperature profile, the normalized bulk temperature, and the inner and outer Nusselt numbers are derived from solving non-dimensional energy equation as a function of all relevant non-dimensional parameters. The effects of Deborah number (De), mobility factor (α), Brinkman number (Br) and velocity ratio (β) on the normalized temperature profile and Nusselt number are investigated. The results indicate the significant effects of these parameters on the dimensionless temperature distribution and Nusselt number.</span

    A suggested prototype for assessing bone health

    Background- Osteoporosis is becoming a health concern worldwide. Considering the fact that prevention plays an important role in reducing the burden of this silent disease and in view of the limited resources available, many countries have adopted certain programs to fight osteoporosis through shifting their attention towards at-risk individuals. The Iranian Multicenter Osteoporosis Study (IMOS) is one of these programs. The program aims to assess bone health and the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in different parts of Iran with various altitudes, latitudes and lifestyle habits in a way that the results could be generalized to the country. Method- The present article presents the protocol used in the third phase of the study. It was designed based on the experiences gathered in the previous phases to overcome the shortcomings particularly subject loss. The questionnaire applied in this study was developed based on a thorough literature review of the risk factors and secondary causes of osteoporosis and was approved by an expert panel. It should be added that while the majority of the existing studies aim to study a certain aspect of osteoporosis, the present protocol provides the information needed for policy makers and researchers to study different osteoporosis-related issues. Conclusion- The authors believe the protocol, to be implemented with small modifications, can help policymakers in different parts of the world, particularly developing countries, gather accurate information on different aspects of bone health at the national level. © 2015, Academy of Medical Sciences of I.R.     Curing epoxy with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) surface-functionalized CoxFe3- xO4 magnetic nanoparticles

    In this work, the bulk and surface composition of Fe3O4 supermagnetic nanoparticles were modified for efficient epoxy curing. The bare, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) capped, and cobalt (Co)-doped EDTA capped Fe3O4 nanoparticles were synthesized electrochemically. The crystalline structure and phase information, surface capping, morphology and magnetization behavior of nanoparticles were studied by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), respectively. A low amount of the prepared nanoparticle (0.1¿wt.%) was used in preparation of epoxy nanocomposites. Nonisothermal differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) under different heating rates was performed to study the potential of nanoparticles in curing epoxy resin with an aliphatic amine. The heat release data on nanocomposites suggest that EDTA capped Co-doped Fe3O4 considerably improved the curing reaction between epoxy resin and the curing agent. Calculations based on Cure Index approved qualitatively a shift from Poor to Good cure by concurrent lattice and surface modifications of magnetic nanoparticles.     The impact of social media on marketing using bibliometrics analysis

    Social media has grown very quickly and has affected all dimensions of the world’s community. The purpose of this article is to review valid articles on the relationship between social media and promotion using manual and bibliometrics analysis methods and identify top themes in these articles. We review the papers published between 2007 and the first month of 2019 in Scopus. 1,840 articles were published in the mentioned period. In this article, we review various charts including word dynamics, the contributions of different countries, country scientific production, corresponding author's country, the frequency distribution of sources, collaboration network and country collaboration map. The study indicates that Canada, Australia and France were the most productive countries in this area

    A trend study on the impact of social media in decision making

    Social media has grown steadily during the last decade and it is now considered as a new opportunity to use for different purposes such as decision making. The primary objective of this paper is to review articles related to social media and decision making using manual and bibliometrics anal-ysis methods, and to identify top themes in these articles. We have reviewed the papers published between 2008 and the first month of 2019 in Scopus where 1,159 articles were published in this period. These articles come from 733 sources and 3,459 authors. According to our survey, United States is the most productive country. Moreover, most collaborations occurred between two coun-tries of United States and United Kingdom as well as between United States and China.
