The Impact of Information Systems on Port Performance: The Case of Morocco's Agadir Port

    Get PDF
The objective of this research paper is therefore to examine the role of information systems in improving the port performance of Agadir. This study highlights how the port supply chain deploying information systems can improve performance by stimulating collaboration between multiple port operators. This research adopted a descriptive survey design. To achieve the objectives of the study, primary data was collected using a semi-structured questionnaire. The study concludes that the use of information systems reduce vessels stays and improves the productivity of ships at berths. Based on these results, the study concludes that the capacity to use and manage information systems in a much more effective and efficient way can improve the performance of the kingdom's port

Or, alor..

Open circuit voltage of organic photovoltaic cells using C60 as acceptor: variation with the donor

    Get PDF
The open circuit voltage (Voc) of organic photovoltaic cells (OPVs) is an important parameter in terms of OPV performance. In the present work, we check that its value depends on the energy difference between the Lowest Unoccupied Molecular Orbital of the electron acceptor (LUMOA) and the Highest Occupied Molecular Orbital of the donor (HOMOD). The electron acceptor is the fullerene, while the electron acceptors are used as parameter. The results show that Voc increases with the value of Δ(LUMOA–HOMOD). However, for some molecules, this increase is not linear, which shows that other parameters are also determinant

Synthesis, structural and spectral studies of 5-methyl 2-furaldehyde thiosemicarbazone and its Co, Ni, Cu and Cd complexes

The reaction of cobalt, nickel, copper and cadmium chlorides and bromides with 5-methylfurfural thiosemicarbazone (M5FTSC) leads to the formation of two series of new complexes: [M(M5FTSC)2X2], [M(M5FTSC)X2]. They have been characterized by spectroscopic studies (infrared, 1H NMR, and electronic spectra). The crystal structures of the free ligand M5FTSC and of the compound [CuCl2(M5FTSC)] have been determined by X-ray diffraction methods. For the Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes, the central atom is coordinated through the sulphur atom and the azomethine nitrogen atom whilst for the Cd(II) complexes, the coordination atoms are the sulphur and furanic oxygen atoms instead of the azomethine nitrogen

Molecular dynamics simulation of silver nanoparticles in a europium doped sodosilicate glass

    Get PDF
Molecular dynamics simulation is applied to an europium doped sodosilicate glass containing silver [(Na–Ag)2O–SiO2–Eu2O3]. The silver is implanted in substitution of Na, simulating an ionic exchange. For ionic interactions a modified Born–Mayer–Huggins potential was employed. For the Ag–Ag interaction, a Lennard-Jones (LJ) potential is applied, while for the Eu–Ag interaction, a modified LJ potential is introduced. The particle size increases with the annealing treatment and follows a lognormal law. After 75 ps the average particle size reaches 5.8 atoms (4.8 for Ag and 1.0 for Eu), and it is found that the europium is preferentially situated on these nanoclusters
