    Get PDF
From the end of the 13th century Elche became a frontier land with the Grenada Kingdom, being the target of a number of raids carried out by the people from Grenada who had the support of the Mudejar population living in the area. There were also attacks from the sea by the Grenada pirates causing that a feeling of worry spreaded among the people of the area and the existence of a distrust attitude towards the Mudejar people. Many inhabitants of Elche were made captive and it was necessary to rescue them, while the warning of new attacks from Grenada made the local soldiery be mobilized forcing to adopt defensive measures. The presentation of people from Grenada heads were economically rewarded by the Authorities of Elche

    Get PDF
Obtained from a document of 1416 preserved in the Archive of the Kingdom of Valencia, we have pretended to rebuild the Ondara’s place of development, in the north of Alicante’s province, particularly the rent received by the lord, the Duke of Gandia. Ondara had a population of Mudejar majority, even though Christians also lived in the locality. From this rent it was the partition of fruits from the Mudejares and Christians, with their 4000 salaries, the one that produced the most incomes in the lord’s arks; this was the tax over the economical activity in the locality, followed by the leasing and the besante. Apart from the agriculture there was an artisan’s activity related with pottery, the manufacture of soap and dye. The study is completed with some municipal laws from the year 1410 and the prosopography of the neighbours

The Vernegal: from mercaderes pisanos to citizens of Valencia (S.XV)

Even though the Florentins were the Toscan merchants with most presence in Valencia, there were also Pisans, especially during the XV century.  Some of them, like some members of the Vernegallo (Vernegal) family, settled definitively in Valencia, from where they directed their various business: commerce, bills of exchange, loans, leases, properties and lands, etc.  After settling in the city the Vernegal became citizens of the same, leaving behind their condition of foreigners and integrating in the urban social body, at the same time that their monetary fortune let them become part of the economic elite

    Multi-Utilitarian Bargaining Solutions.

This paper introduces and analyzes the class of multi-utilitarian solutions for cooperative bargaining problems. We show that generalized Gini solutions and inequality averse Choquet bargaining solutions are particular cases of this new multi-valued solution concept and provide a complete characterization of inequality averse multi-utilitarian solutions in which an invariance property consisting of a weakening of both the linear invariance axiom in Blackorby et al. (1994) and the restricted invariance axiom in Ok and Zhou (2000). Moreover, by relaxing the assumptions involved in the characterization, the class is extended to include equality averse multi-utilitarian solutions which are also studied in the paper.Axiomatic bargaining theory, multi-valued bargaining solutions, generalized Gini solutions, inequality adverse Choquet solutions.
