Some comparisons of impact craters on Mercury and the Moon

Although the general morphologies of fresh mercurian and lunar craters are remarkably similar, comparisons of ejecta deposits, interior structures, and changes in morphology with size reveal important differences between the two populations of craters. The differences are attributable to the different gravity fields in which the craters were formed and have significant implications for the interpretation of cratering processes and their effects on all planetary bodies

Tweeting transit : an examination of social media strategies for transport information management during a large event

Social media platforms are seeing increasing adoption by public transport agencies, as they provide a cost-effective, reliable, and timely mechanism for sharing information with passengers and other travellers. In this paper, we use a case study of the @GamesTravel2014 Twitter account to evaluate how this social media platform was used over the course of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland to provide and share transport-related information and respond to information requests. The case study provides an exemplar for the public co-ordination of information from multiple partners in a complex environment during a time of transport disruption. We evaluate both the structure and intent of the @GamesTravel2014 social media strategy via interviews with involved parties and an analysis of Tweets related to the account. Findings indicate the potential for future applications of social media by transport operators and authorities in producing a more effective network of communication with passengers

Simplification of Judicial Procedure in Federal Courts - In 1914 the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives unanimously reported favorably upon a bill (H. R. 133) authorizing the Supreme Court of the United States to prescribe by rule the forms, kind and character of the entire pleading, practice and procedure to be used in all actions and proceedings at law in the federal courts, with a view to their simplification, which rules should, when promulgated, take precedence of any law in conflict therewith. On January 2, 1917, a similar bill (S. 4551) was favorably reported from the Senate Judiciary Committee by a distinguished graduate of this Law School, Senator SUTHELAND. The concurrence of the Judiciary Committees of the two houses of Congress gives promise of an early enactment of this legislation
