DHX33 interacts with AP-2β to regulate Bcl-2 gene expression and promote cancer cell survival

    Get PDF
The RNA helicase DHX33 has been found to be overexpressed in human cancers, where it promotes cancer development. Previous reports have shown that DHX33 deficiency caused cancer cell apoptosis, but the underlying mechanism remains unknown. In this study, we discovered that DHX33 regulates Bcl-2 family protein expression. In multiple human cancer cell lines, DHX33 was found to stimulate the transcription o

Competitive analysis of online inventory problem with interrelated prices

    Get PDF
This paper investigates the online inventory problem with interrelated prices in which a decision of when and how much to replenish must be made in an online fashion even without concrete knowledge of future prices. Four new online models with different price correlations are proposed in this paper, which are the linear-decrease model, the log-decrease model, the logarithmic model and the exponential model. For the first two models, the online algorithms are developed, and as the performance measure of online algorithm, the upper and lower bounds of competitive ratios of the algorithms are derived respectively. For the exponential and logarithmic models, the online algorithms are proposed by the solution of linear programming and the corresponding competitive ratios are analyzed, respectively. Additionally, the algorithm designed for the exponential model is optimal, and the algorithm for the logarithmic model is optimal only under some certain conditions. Moreover, some numerical examples illustrate that the algorithms based on the dprice-conservative strategy are more suitable when the purchase price fluctuates relatively flat

Development of a New Surface Acoustic Wave Based Gyroscope on a X-112°Y LiTaO3 Substrate

    Get PDF
A new micro gyroscope based on the surface acoustic wave (SAW) gyroscopic effect was developed. The SAW gyroscopic effect is investigated by applying the surface effective permittivity method in the regime of small ratios of the rotation velocity and the frequency of the SAW. The theoretical analysis indicates that the larger velocity shift was observed from the rotated X-112°Y LiTaO3 substrate. Then, two SAW delay lines with reverse direction and an operation frequency of 160 MHz are fabricated on a same X-112°Y LiTaO3 chip as the feedback of two SAW oscillators, which act as the sensor element. The single-phase unidirectional transducer (SPUDT) and combed transducers were used to structure the delay lines to improve the frequency stability of the oscillator. The rotation of a piezoelectric medium gives rise to a shift of the propagation velocity of SAW due to the Coriolis force, resulting in the frequency shift of the SAW device, and hence, the evaluation of the sensor performance. Meanwhile, the differential structure was performed to double the sensitivity and compensate for the temperature effects. Using a precise rate table, the performance of the fabricated SAW gyroscope was evaluated experimentally. A sensitivity of 1.332 Hz deg−1 s at angular rates of up to 1,000 deg s−1 and good linearity are observed

Competitive algorithms for unbounded one-way trading

    Get PDF
In the one-way trading problem, a seller has L units of product to be sold to a sequence σ of buyers u1,u2,…,uσu1,u2,…,uσ arriving online and he needs to decide, for each ui, the amount of product to be sold to ui at the then-prevailing market price pi. The objective is to maximize the seller's revenue. We note that all previous algorithms for the problem need to impose some artificial upper bound M and lower bound m on the market prices, and the seller needs to know either the values of M and m , or their ratio M/mM/m, at the outset....[cont'd

Experimental Study of the Source of CO Anomalies in Mines Based on Microscopic Changes

The phenomenon of abnormal CO emergence occurred in a working face of Tangshan mine, and the CO source was analyzed from the two perspectives of CO detection method optimization and microstructure changes in the low-temperature environment of the coal body. Then, the critical index system was optimized. The CO identification tube test results and gas chromatograph test results are combined to derive a fitting formula, and the CO identification tube test results are used as the independent variable to obtain the gas chromatograph test results, which can effectively eliminate the error of small CO identification tube test results. The analysis of raw coal and coal samples heated by water bath at 30 °C, 40 °C, and 50 °C was carried out using low temperature liquid nitrogen adsorption and thermogravimetric and infrared spectroscopy experiments. It was found that the pore structure of the coal body developed as the temperature increased; the oxidation reaction occurred in the low-temperature state when heat was absorbed to produce CO. The thermal decomposition of carbonyl group was found to be the main source of CO. Finally, the index of spontaneous combustion of coal is optimized according to the temperature, and the index systems represented by O2/(CO2+CO), CH4 and CO2/CO were determined from 30~80 °C, 90~180 °C and 18~240 °C, respectively

Structural, expression and evolutionary analysis of the non-specific phospholipase C gene family in Gossypium hirsutum

Abstract Background Nonspecific phospholipase C (NPC), which belongs to a phospholipase C subtype, is a class of phospholipases that hydrolyzes the primary membrane phospholipids, such as phosphatidylcholine, to yield sn-1, 2-diacylglycerol and a phosphorylated head-group. NPC plays multiple physiological roles in lipid metabolism and signaling in plants. To fully understand the putative roles of NPC genes in upland cotton, we cloned NPC genes from Gossypium hirsutum and carried out structural, expression and evolutionary analysis. Results Eleven NPC genes were cloned from G. hirsutum, which were found on chromosomes scaffold269.1, D03, A07, D07, A08, D11, and scaffold3511_A13. All GhNPCs had typical phosphoesterase domains and have hydrolase activity that acts on ester bonds. GhNPCs were annotated as phospholipase C, which was involved in glycerophospholipid metabolism, ether lipid metabolism, and biosynthesis of secondary metabolites. These GhNPCs showed differential expression patterns in distinct plant tissues and in response to various types of stress (low-phosphate, salt, drought, and abscisic acid). They also had different types and numbers of cis-element. GhNPCs could be classified into four subfamilies. Four pairs of GhNPCs were generated by whole-genome duplication and they underwent purifying selection. Conclusions Our results suggested that GhNPCs are involved in regulating key abiotic stress responses and ABA signaling transduction, and they may have various functional roles for different members under complex abiotic stress conditions. Functional divergence may be the evolutionary driving force for the retention of four pairs of duplicate NPCs. Our analysis provides a solid foundation for the further functional characterization of the GhNPC gene family, and leads to potential applications in the genetic improvement of cotton cultivars

Study on Spontaneous Combustion Tendency of Coals with Different Metamorphic Grade at Low Moisture Content Based on TPO-DSC

In the environments of various open coal storage sites, mining-affected coalbeds, and goafs, etc., some coal bodies are often affected by external environmental factors. They are highly prone to spontaneous combustion in low moisture content (≤8%). In order to examine the effect of low moisture content on the spontaneous combustion tendency of coals with different metamorphic grade, we conducted a temperature programmed oxidation (TPO) experiment and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) experiment to study the spontaneous combustion characteristics of coals with different metamorphic grade at four different low moisture contents. The change laws of the characteristic parameters of four different metamorphic grade coals at four different low moisture contents were comparatively analyzed. The experimental results indicate that: (1) Compared other low moisture content, anthracite and fat coal at a low moisture content of 1.2 % show a stronger tendency for spontaneous combustion, and long flame coal and lignite at a low moisture content of 3.4% and 5.6% are more prone to spontaneous combustion. (2) Four different metamorphic grade coals at a low moisture content of 7.8% are less prone to spontaneous combustion
