Quantum spatial-periodic harmonic model for daily price-limited stock markets

We investigate the behavior of stocks in daily price-limited stock markets by purposing a quantum spatial-periodic harmonic model. The stock price is presumed to oscillate and damp in a quantum spatial-periodic harmonic oscillator potential well. Complicated non-linear relations including inter-band positive correlation and intra-band negative correlation between the volatility and the trading volume of stocks are derived by considering the energy band structure of the model. The validity of price limitation is then examined and abnormal phenomena of a price-limited stock market (Shanghai Stock Exchange) of China are studied by applying our quantum model.Comment: 8 pages, 9 figure

Disruption of gut homeostasis by opioids accelerates HIV disease progression

Cumulative studies during the past 30 years have established the correlation between opioid abuse and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Further studies also demonstrate that opioid addiction is associated with faster progression to AIDS in patients. Recently, it was revealed that disruption of gut homeostasis and subsequent microbial translocation play important roles in pathological activation of the immune system during HIV infection and contributes to accelerated disease progression. Similarly, opioids have been shown to modulate gut immunity and induce gut bacterial translocation. This review will explore the mechanisms by which opioids accelerate HIV disease progression by disrupting gut homeostasis. Better understanding of these mechanisms will facilitate the search for new therapeutic interventions to treat HIV infection especially in opioid abusing population

Hierarchical Structure with Highly Ordered Macroporous-Mesoporous Metal-Organic Frameworks as Dual Function for CO2 Fixation.

As a major greenhouse gas, the continuous increase of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere has caused serious environmental problems, although CO2 is also an abundant, inexpensive, and nontoxic carbon source. Here, we use metal-organic framework (MOF) with highly ordered hierarchical structure as adsorbent and catalyst for chemical fixation of CO2 at atmospheric pressure, and the CO2 can be converted to the formate in excellent yields. Meanwhile, we have successfully integrated highly ordered macroporous and mesoporous structures into MOFs, and the macro-, meso-, and microporous structures have all been presented in one framework. Based on the unique hierarchical pores, high surface area (592 m2/g), and high CO2 adsorption capacity (49.51 cm3/g), the ordered macroporous-mesoporous MOFs possess high activity for chemical fixation of CO2 (yield of 77%). These results provide a promising route of chemical CO2 fixation through MOF materials

Dynamic route choice model with departure time in combined trip

The dynamic route choice model with departure time was carried out in a multi-modal transportation network, in which the combined travel mode was considered. The multi-modal transportation network was built based on the super network theory and the expansion technique. The simultaneous departure time and the route choice preference were described in a Logit model from the view of path formulation, as well as analyzing the equilibrium conditions. A variational inequality model was proposed to be equivalent to the equilibrium condition and was solved by a direct algorithm based on a dynamic stochastic network loading method. The efficient of the model and the algorithm were validated by a numerical example. The results show that the proposed model can not only describe the route choice behavior in the multimodal transportation network, but also get the departure time, which comes closer to the reality and has good suitability

Traffic assignment model and algorithm with combined modes in a degradable transportation network

To study the effect of the degradable road network on travel decision and traffic assignment, firstly all travelers were categorized into three classes: risk-averse travelers, risk-prone travelers and risk-neutral travelers. Secondly, two travel modes including car trip and car-subway trip were considered in a multi-modal networks. A stochastic traffic equilibrium model was proposed by using the variational inequality theory, and the properties of the solution were discussed. Finally, an example was used to testify the validity of the model and the algorithm. The results show that the travel behavior varies greatly with different travel time budget; with the decrease of traffic capacity, travelers prefer to choose the combined modes
