An Analysis of Air Mobility Express Requirements Operating Within a Lean Logistics Wartime Environment

Lean Logistics was developed in response to budget cuts, force reductions, and a new political world order. The primary objective of Lean Logistics is to minimize the total system wide costs of the Air Force organization. Currently, the Air Force is seeking to cut costs by reducing inventories, improving repair processes, and employing faster transportation where possible. The purpose of this thesis is to determine if the Air Mobility Express (AMX) current sizing plan is capable of supporting the retrograde assets generated during the sustainment portion of a war. The Dyna-METRIC version 6.4 simulation program is employed to analyze the effect of varying such parameters as flying hours and retrograde shipment time on the weight and space required to move retrograde assets. Analysis of the results was accomplished using a Small Sample Test of Hypothesis. The results indicated that the current sizing plan is capable of handling the retrograde cargo generated by four F-16C squadrons for the six scenarios evaluated. This research also hints that while the current plan is capable of supporting four F-16C squadrons, it should be increased to support the transportation of reparables for all weapon systems involved in the war effort

Triggering social interactions:chimpanzees respond to imitation by a humanoid robot and request responses from it

Even the most rudimentary social cues may evoke affiliative responses in humans and promote socialcommunication and cohesion. The present work tested whether such cues of an agent may also promotecommunicative interactions in a nonhuman primate species, by examining interaction-promoting behavioursin chimpanzees. Here, chimpanzees were tested during interactions with an interactive humanoid robot, whichshowed simple bodily movements and sent out calls. The results revealed that chimpanzees exhibited twotypes of interaction-promoting behaviours during relaxed or playful contexts. First, the chimpanzees showedprolonged active interest when they were imitated by the robot. Second, the subjects requested ‘social’responses from the robot, i.e. by showing play invitations and offering toys or other objects. This study thusprovides evidence that even rudimentary cues of a robotic agent may promote social interactions inchimpanzees, like in humans. Este estudio, tuvo como finalidad establecer el vínculo entre la motivación y satisfacción laboral en operarios de una empresa privada en la Provincia Constitucional del Callao 2021. El estudio, fue de tipo básica, se clasifica descriptiva – correlacional y de diseño no experimental. La muestra fue de 200 trabajadores, a quienes se les mostró la escala de motivación laboral de Steers y Braunstein (1976) y la escala de satisfacción laboral de Warr, Cook y Wall (1979). Los resultados obtenidos entre motivación y satisfacción laboral, indican una correlación positiva débil (r= 0.371) y significativa (p=.000). En cuanto a los objetivos específicos, se perciben los niveles y la frecuencia de motivación laboral, donde predomina el nivel medio con un 52.5%, y un 50.5% en el nivel medio en la variable satisfacción laboral. En cuanto la variable satisfacción laboral y necesidad de logro, indica un r= 0.333 y un p= 0.000, paralelamente satisfacción laboral y necesidad de poder se observa un r= 0.228 y un p= 0.000. Del mismo modo, se evidencia que la relación entre satisfacción laboral y necesidad de filiación es de un r= 0.347 y un p= 0.000. Esto quiere decir, que se aceptan las hipótesis del estudio, existiendo la relación estadísticamente significativa

The Use of Meteorological Parameters for a Regulatory Diagnostic Model Performance Evaluation for Houston, Texas

This study presents a meteorological process-based evaluation of a regulatory model that was approved by the Environmental Protection Agency for developing ozone (O3) control strategies for the Houston-Galveston-Brazoria (HGB) non-attainment region. This evaluation used metrological parameters that were strongly correlated with observed O3 exceedance days: degree of wind rotation, morning wind speeds, and midnight wind direction. The model overpredicted days with low wind rotations and underpredicted days with high wind rotations. Model predicted morning wind speeds consistently reached levels twice that of observations and the midnight wind directions were also rarely simulated correctly. These predicted differences in meteorological processes highlighted in this study could lead to different influence of emission sources and the location of peak O3 concentrations. Because these meteorological processes are correlated with O3 in HGB, correctly simulating them would reduce uncertainty in O3 predictions and provide more confidence in the representativeness for the development of control strategies.Master of Scienc

Vulneración de derechos fundamentales del aborto sentimental en las víctimas de violación sexual. Lima Norte 2021

El objetivo general de la presente tesis fue de determinar los derechos fundamentales que se vulneran en la tipificación del aborto sentimental en las víctimas de violación sexual en la ciudad de Lima Norte año 2021. Se utilizó la siguiente metodología: El tipo de investigación desde el punto de vista de función es básico, desde un alcance correlacional, y un diseño no experimental. La metodología de investigación es del tipo cualitativa. La técnica de recolección de datos contempla un análisis documental de sentencias judiciales en los casos de violación sexual a mujeres y entrevistas a funcionarios del CEM (Centro Emergencia Mujer). Como conclusión, se ha podido evidenciar dentro de la realidad peruana, que los derechos fundamentales que se vulneran en la tipificación del aborto sentimental en las víctimas de violación sexual son la dignidad humana y la libertad sexual. Esto evidenciado en las sentencias condenatorias que se revisó en el análisis documental. Así mismo, luego de las entrevistas a jueces, hemos podido evidenciar la existencia de un número relevante de abortos clandestinos, donde las mujeres que han recurrido a estos servicios se han visto gravemente afectadas, tanto a nivel físico como psicológico; encontrándose esto contrastado por el 85% de los encuestados que mantienen una postura firme, bajo su punto de vista jurídico, que en nuestro Estado existe un número preocupante de muertes debido a los abortos clandestinos

Salario emocional y retención del talento humano en una empresa agroexportadora - Lima, 2021

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general Determinar la relación entre el Salario emocional y retención del talento humano en una empresa agroexportadora - Lima, 2021. Se estableció como metodología un estudio de tipo aplicado, de nivel correlacional, cuantitativo y con un diseño no experimental. Se estableció como población y muestra a 50 colaboradores de la entidad en estudio por ser finita. La técnica empleada para recolectar los datos fue la encuesta y el instrumento el cuestionario, la cual consto de 18, para la variable salario emocional y 18 para la variable retención del talento humano, los mismos que fueron debidamente validados por especialistas a través de jueces expertos. Asimismo, se determinó la confiabilidad mediante el Alpha de Cronbach con un 0,907 y 0,904. Finalmente se aplicó el paquete estadístico SPSS-Versión 6, permitiendo discutir los resultados de acuerdo a la aplicación de la encuesta. Se llego a concluir que existe un grado de correlación positiva muy alta, entre el salario emocional y retención del talento humano en una empresa agroexportadora - Lima, con un Rho Spearman de un r= 0,979 y un Sig. Bilateral es 0.000, inferior a 0.05, aceptando la hipótesis alterna y rechazando la nula

Mars: Periglacial Morphology and Implications for Future Landing Sites

At the Mars Phoenix landing site and in much of the Martian northern plains, there is ice-cemented ground beneath a layer of dry permafrost. Unlike most permafrost on Earth, though, this ice is not liquid at any time of year. However, in past epochs at higher obliquity the surface conditions during summer may have resulted in warmer conditions and possible melting. This situation indicates that the ice-cemented ground in the north polar plains is likely to be a candidate for the most recently habitable place on Mars as near-surface ice likely provided adequate water activity approximately 5 Myr ago. The high elevation Dry Valleys of Antarctica provide the best analog on Earth of Martian ground ice. These locations are the only places on Earth where ice-cemented ground is found beneath dry permafrost. The Dry Valleys are a hyper-arid polar desert environment and in locations above 1500 m elevation, such as University Valley, air temperatures do not exceed 0 C. Thus, similarly to Mars, liquid water is largely absent here and instead the hydrologic cycle is dominated by frozen ice and vapor phase processes such as sublimation. These conditions make the high elevation Dry Valleys a key Mars analog location where periglacial processes and geomorphic features can be studied in situ. This talk will focus on studies of University Valley as a Mars analog for periglacial morphology and ice stability. We will review a landing site selection study encompassing this information gleaned from the Antarctic terrestrial analog studies plus Mars spacecraft data analysis to identify candidate landing sites for a future mission to search for life on Mars
