    Get PDF
The study examined the effects of diversity, advertising, ease of demand, and service quality. The study used a quantitative approach, distributing a questionnaire to a randomly selected sample of (514) consumers from the study population. The studys factors (menu variety, promotion, and service quality) had a statistically significant effect on consumer satisfaction with food delivery. In contrast, the findings revealed that consumers were dissatisfied with the ease of ordering (convenience). The online meal delivery market is still in its infancy, necessitating additional research from academics and industry professionals to determine its full potential. This study examines the few available studies on online meal delivery businesses and consumer attitudes toward food delivery. From a management standpoint, the paper contributes to the identification of research gaps, if any, and a broader understanding of customer perception

The paper investigates the relationship between employee management and organizational performance in Dubais five-star hotel industry. The social survey technique was used to collect, categorize, and analyze data in order to draw conclusions that meet the research objectives, as the questionnaire was administered to workers in five-star hotels in Dubai to gather data that answered the research questions. The researcher collected 283 copays from 500 surveys, but only 247 were complete and usable. To determine the reliability of the measurement items for each variable, an internal consistency check was performed. The study found that organizational performance is positively correlated with employee management, and that organizational systems, structure, and physical environment all have an impact on employee management, as well as employee management having an impact on organizational performance. Employee management is one of the strategies used by hotels to improve their performance. The health, success, and expansion of any business are heavily dependent on its employees ability to get along with one another. Positive interactions among coworkers increase workplace productivity

This paper discusses the creation of an integrated worldwide system based on integrating and linking automobiles with VANET, IoT, and AI technologies, which will have a substantial impact on the smart, safe transportation system. This paper aims to apply a proposed project to a specific area in Jordan to examine the projects viability and its impact on reducing the accident rate by controlling traffic with special traffic rules in the study area using a cloud database that stores all the private information for each car and receives information about the cars speed as it travels. When a driver exceeds the speed established by the Traffic Department, he receives warning messages informing him that he has over the speed limit, and if he does not respond to the warning messages, he gets a fine. The research focuses on optimizing the utilization of VANET network services, which is crucial for enhancing public safety applications involving data exchange between automobiles and RSUs. The simulation was conducted using OMNeT++ version 5.7 on Debian 11, Linux 5, and GNOME 3 operating systems. As a network simulator, it is a scientifically approved open-source too

The Impact of Financial Determinants On Bank Deposits Using ARDL Model

    Get PDF
The purpose of this research is to quantify the impact of macroeconomic factors on Jordanian bank deposits in the context of the CoVD-19 epidemic. The annual data are collected between 1980 and 2020. The novel Autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model is suggested to evaluate the link between bank deposits and macroeconomic factors. The findings of Grangers causality test indicate that there is a one-way causal link between deposits and macroeconomic factors. Moreover, the study shows no causal link between financial shocks and bank deposits. In addition, the border test investigates the existence of a long-term equilibrium between variables. To attain long-term equilibrium, the imbalance in the short-term equilibrium is adjusted at a rate of 11.6%. Based on the Theil test, the new model is suitable for econometric difficulties and predictability

Isolation and characterization of phenol degrading bacterium strain Bacillus thuringiensis J20 from olive waste in Palestine

This study aimed at isolation of phenol degrading bacteria from olive mill wastes in Palestine. The efficiency of phenol removal and factors affecting phenol degradation were investigated. A bacterial strain (J20) was isolated from solid olive mill waste and identified as Bacillus thuringiensis based on standard morphological, biochemical characteristics and 16SrRNA sequence analysis. The strain was able to grow in a phenol concentration of 700 mg/L as the sole carbon and energy source. The culture conditions showed a significant impact on the ability of these cells to remove phenol. This strain exhibited optimum phenol degradation performance at pH 6.57 and 30 C . Under the optimized conditions, this strain could degrade 88.6% of phenol (700 mg/L) within 96 h when the initial cell density was OD600 0.2. However, the degradation efficiency could be improved from about 88% to nearly 99% by increasing the cell density. Immobilization of J20 was carried out using 4% sodium alginate. Phenol degradation efficiency of the immobilized cells of J20 was higher than that of the free cells, 100% versus 88.6% of 700 mg/L of phenol in 120 h, indicating the improved tolerance of the immobilized cells toward phenol toxicity. The J20 was used in detoxifying crude OMWW, phenolic compounds levels were reduced by 61% compared to untreated OMWW after five days of treatment. Hence, B. thuringiensis-J20 can be effectively used for bioremediation of phenol-contaminated sites in Palestine. These findings may lead to new biotechnological applications for the degradation of phenol, related to olive oil production. The authors thank Prof. Charles Greenblatt from Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Hebrew University – Hadassah Medical School, Jerusalem, Israel for his help. The Genetic Structure of Leishmania infantum Populations in Brazil and Its Possible Association with the Transmission Cycle of Visceral Leishmaniasis

    Get PDF
Leishmania infantum is the etiologic agent of visceral leishmaniasis (VL) in the Americas, Mediterranean basin and West and Central Asia. Although the geographic structure of L. infantum populations from the Old World have been described, few studies have addressed the population structure of this parasite in the Neotropical region. We employed 14 microsatellites to analyze the population structure of the L. infantum strains isolated from humans and dogs from most of the Brazilian states endemic for VL and from Paraguay. The results indicate a low genetic diversity, high inbreeding estimates and a depletion of heterozygotes, which together indicate a predominantly clonal breeding system, but signs of sexual events are also present. Three populations were identified from the clustering analysis, and they were well supported by F statistics inferences and partially corroborated by distance-based. POP1 (111 strains) was observed in all but one endemic area. POP2 (31 strains) is also well-dispersed, but it was the predominant population in Mato Grosso (MT). POP3 (31 strains) was less dispersed, and it was observed primarily in Mato Grosso do Sul (MS). Strains originated from an outbreak of canine VL in Southern Brazil were grouped in POP1 with those from Paraguay, which corroborates the hypothesis of dispersal from Northeastern Argentina and Paraguay. The distribution of VL in MS seems to follow the west-east construction of the Bolivia-Brazil pipeline from Corumbá municipality. This may have resulted in a strong association of POP3 and Lutzomyia cruzi, which is the main VL vector in Corumbá, and a dispersion of this population in this region that was shaped by human interference. This vector also occurs in MT and may influence the structure of POP2. This paper presents significant advances in the understanding of the population structure of L. infantum in Brazil and its association with eco-epidemiological aspects of VL

    No full text
To effectively educate educations students, online platforms are crucial. Unfortunately, they might not be well- represented in universities. The goals of the study are determined in this light. The purpose of this paper is to analyze how the use of e-Learning has affected the quality of education in Jordans tourism and hospitality colleges during the recent Corona virus pandemic. Before doing regression analysis, a survey was sent out to faculty and employees at tourism and hospitality schools. Using SPSS version 22, researchers analyzed responses made on a 37-point Likert scale. An evaluation procedure was performed on it. The initial belief that ELPs are more effective and acceptable reduces the drive to keep taking them. According to linear regression analysis, investments in training, incentives, and assistive technology have a favorable and statistically significant effect on the quality of education provided by tourism and hospitality programs at the university level. Future research should compare results before and after COVID, as suggested by our findings

The First Meeting of the European Register of Cystic Echinococcosis (Erce)

Cystic echinococcosis (CE) is a zoonotic parasitic disease endemic in southern and eastern European countries. The true prevalence of CE is difficult to estimate due to the high proportion of asymptomatic carriers who never seek medical attention and to the underreporting of diagnosed cases, factors which contribute to its neglected status. In an attempt to improve this situation, the European Register of Cystic Echinococcosis (ERCE), was launched in October 2014 in the context of the HERACLES project. ERCE is a prospective, observational, multicentre register of patients with probable or confirmed CE. The first ERCE meeting was held in November 2015 at the Italian National Institute of Health (Istituto Superiore di Sanita, ISS) in Rome, to bring together CE experts currently involved in the Register activities, to share and discuss experiences, and future developments., Although the Register is still in its infancy, data collected at the time of writing this report, had outnumbered the total of national cases reported by the European endemic countries and published by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control in 2015. This confirms the need for an improved reporting system of CE at the European level. The collection of standardized clinical data and samples is expected to support a more rational, stage-specific approach to clinical management, and to help public authorities harmonize reporting of CE. A better understanding of CE burden in Europe will encourage the planning and implementation of public health policies toward its control.PubMedWoSScopu
