The Implementation of a Professional Learning Community to Support Out-of-Field Teachers

To determine the changes in the teaching practices of out-of-field teachers and their knowledge of English after the implementation of a Professional Learning Community at a private school in Bogotá.This study attempts to provide support to out-of-field teachers, who are the teachers who have limited knowledge about the subject they are teaching. For example: English, Chemistry, Science, Spanish, etc. For that, we chose five teachers (Normalistas Superiores) at a private school in Bogotá. Likewise, to see what could be done in order to help them in their teaching practices, the researchers used a Professional Learning Community for providing information about components, skills, and bases about English methodologies and approaches. What is more, the interviews observations, and questionnaires were used for collecting the data

Reportes integrados y generación de valor en empresas colombianas incluidas en el Índice de Sostenibilidad Dow Jones

Integrated reports meet the current information demand from stakeholders, who need to make better decisions and observe in the reports company value generation. In order to meet the purpose of the research, we took the 2013 Integrated Reports from ten Colombian companies included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for emerging markets and five variables were established (report structure, corporate governance, economic, social, and environmental) with their corresponding indicators to evaluate the fulfillment of their disclosures according to several international guidelines. We have as a result that companies give the right amount of importance to the disclosure of integrated information to show themselves as more transparent and competitive in the marketOs relatórios integrados satisfazem a atual demanda de informação dos grupos de interesse que precisam tomar melhores decisões e vê-los gerar valor das empresas. Para atingir o objetivo da pesquisa, tomaram-se como base os Relatórios Integrados de 2013 das dez empresas colombianas incluídas no Índice de Sustentabilidade Dow Jones (Dow Jones Sustainability Índices, DJSI) para mercados emergentes, e estabeleceram-se cinco variáveis (estrutura do informe, governo corporativo, económica, social e ambiental) com os seus indicadores, para avaliar cumprimento de revelação segundo algumas guias internacionais, sendo o resultado que as empresas dão suficiente importância à revelação de informação integrada para se mostrar mais competitivas e transparentes no mercado.Los reportes integrados satisfacen la actual demanda de información de los grupos de interés que necesitan tomar mejores decisiones y observar en ellos la generación de valor de las empresas.
