    Cryptographic Interweaving of Messages

    Get PDF
During the past several decades, the information and communication technology sector has advanced significantly, enabling extensive information interchange over the internet, including message sharing and electronic transactions. These days, the main issue is how to transmit information securely. From ancient times, there has been interest in the field of cryptography research. A masterwork of cryptography is Muni Kumudendu's original work, Siribhoovalaya. His study served as the basis for the method suggested in this publication. Several messages can be sent using different keys utilising a single matrix. Encryption uses a variety of matrix traversal techniques, making it challenging for cryptanalysis to map the plaintext and ciphertext

Evaluation of adverse drug reactions of anti-tubercular drugs in the treatment of tuberculosis in tertiary care hospital

Background: Adverse drug reactions are very common among patients on anti-tubercular treatment. Hence, the current study was done to evaluate the adverse drug reaction (ADR) profile in patients receiving anti-tubercular treatment (ATT).Methods: A 6 months prospective, cross-sectional observational study was performed in collaboration with Pulmonology Medicine department. WHO-UMC scale and Naranjo scale was used to evaluate the ADRs.Results: Ninety-two patients receiving ATT presented with 113 adverse drug events (ADE). Males were more affected than females. DOTS category-1 regimen was mostly responsible for ADE. Addition of drugs for the management of ADR events was done. Conclusions: The study results show more ADRs related to ATT demanding increased collaboration between NTEP 2020 and Pharmacovigilance Programme of India to enhance drug safety in this field

Biochemical studies on the effect of curcumin and embelin during N-nitrosodiethylamine/phenobarbital induced-hepatocarcinogenesis in wistar rats

The biochemical effects of administration of embelin a benzoquinone derivative from Embelia ribes and curcumin (diferuloyl methane) isolated from Curcuma longa against a 2 step hepatocarcinogenic regimen comprising of N-nitrosodiethylamine (DENA)/phenobarbital (PB) was studied in wistar strain male albino rats with respect to lipid profile, renal function tests and levels of blood glucose. Rats administered DENA/PB showed hyper cholesterolaemia, hyper triglyceridaemia, elevated low-density lipoproteins (LDL), free fatty acids (FFA), very-low-density lipoproteins (VLDL) levels and decreased urea levels. Pre- and co-treatment with embelin and curcumin for 14 weeks significantly prevented the biochemical alterations induced by DENA/PB. Results of our study suggest the protective and hypolipidemic effects of embelin and curcumin during chemically- induced hepatocarcinogenesis in wistar rats. © 2009 Academic Journals

Simulation of wireless communication system using OFDM principle

    Get PDF
FDMA, TDMA and CDMA are the well known multiplexing techniques used in wireless communication systems. While working with the wireless systems using these techniques various problems encountered are (1) multi-path fading (2) time dispersion which lead to intersymbol interference (ISI) (3) lower bit rate capacity (4) requirement of larger transmit power for high bit rate and (5) less spectral efficiency. The use of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technique provides better solution for the above mentioned problems. The benefits of OFDM are high spectral efficiency, resiliency of RF interference, and lower multi-path distortion. OFDM is a powerful modulation technique that is capable of high data rate and is able to eliminate ISI. The use of FFT technique to implement modulation and demodulation functions makes it computationally more efficient

Protective Effects of Embelin and Curcumin Against Diethylnitrosamine / Phenobarbital Induced Experimental Hepatocarcinogenesis in Rats

The effects of administration of Curcumin and Embelin on the levels of certain trace elements and other elements of clinical significance, during experimental hepatocarcinogenesis induced by Diethylnitrosamine/ Phenobarbital (DENA/PB) was studied in Wistar strain male albino rats. The levels of calcium, potassium and sodium were determined in the serum of control and experimental groups of rats. Additionally, the levels of chromium, copper, magnesium, molybdenum and zinc were also determined in the serum, liver and kidney of these rats. Furthermore, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity was also assayed in the serum of these rats. Results revealed both significant and non-significant alterations in the levels of few elements during DENA/PB-induced experimental hepatocarcinogenesis. A statistically significant increase in LDH activity was found in the serum during the cancerous condition. Pre- and co-treatment with Curcumin and Embelin was found to protect the liver against the carcinogenic effects of DENA/PB. This protection was i) due to their ability to prevent changes in the levels of elements studied and ii) by the statistically significant decrease in the activity of LDH that increased in DENA/PBtreated rats and LDH activity in the rats given only Embelin and Curcumin indicating their nontoxic effect. Our present results demonstrate the ability of Embelin and Curcumin to protect against DENA/PB-induced hepatocarcinogenesis in rats

SVM and ANN Based Classification of Plant Diseases Using Feature Reduction Technique

    Get PDF
Computers have been used for mechanization and automation in different applications of agriculture/horticulture. The critical decision on the agricultural yield and plant protection is done with the development of expert system (decision support system) using computer vision techniques. One of the areas considered in the present work is the processing of images of plant diseases affecting agriculture/horticulture crops. The first symptoms of plant disease have to be correctly detected, identified, and quantified in the initial stages. The color and texture features have been used in order to work with the sample images of plant diseases. Algorithms for extraction of color and texture features have been developed, which are in turn used to train support vector machine (SVM) and artificial neural network (ANN) classifiers. The study has presented a reduced feature set based approach for recognition and classification of images of plant diseases. The results reveal that SVM classifier is more suitable for identification and classification of plant diseases affecting agriculture/horticulture crops

Text Extraction and Localization From Captured Images

Extraction of text contents from image is tedious task because of variance in the font size, style, Orientation, Alignment and heterogeneous nature of text. The contents of text information in the scene images hold valuable data. The framework uses 2-d Wavelet transform using HAAR is applied to the grayscale image followed by edge detection for each sub-band filtering. Then region clustering technique is applied using centroids to each region. Further bounding box is fit to each region thus identifying the text components. Proposed framework is removing non-text content and separated text-content, then each text contents are converted into editable text using OCR engine. Here, we use Teserract recognition engine
