Choosing ERP system for a Vietnamese Smallâsized retailing company : Case ThaiLai LTD
Information sharing is very important in any organization. However, having reliable information and continuous flow of it between departments is not an easy goal to achieve, especially without help of technology.
A small-sized retailing company in Vietnam was the object of researching. The traditional
way which they work and the results it delivers were studied and analyzed. After having a
big picture of the companyâs operation, ERP systems from chosen vendors were analyzed
to find out which system can fulfill the needs of the organization. In order to do that, the
following questions had to be answered, âWhat features of an ERP system does ThaiLai
Ltd. expect?â, âWho will become the potential ERP vendors for ThaiLai Ltd. in Vietnam?â
and âWhat Logistics-oriented advantages an ERP implementation will give ThaiLai Ltd.?â.
Case study approach was used. Necessary data for analysis was collected by Qualitative research method. At the beginning, theoretical basis was created to elaborate the subject
with clarity. Later, it served as foundation for analyzing and grading of the chosen ERP systems. Several interviews were conducted to draw perspectives of important people from
the host company, to identify their needs and expectations.
As a result, three research questions were answered, including finding a suitable ERP system for ThaiLai Ltd., regarding their greatest concern about inventory validity and information sharing

Early-time free-surface flow driven by a deforming boundary
AbstractWhen a solid boundary deforms rapidly into a quiescent liquid layer, a flow is induced that can lead to jet formation. An asymptotic analytical solution is presented for this flow, driven by a solid boundary deforming with dimensionless vertical velocity , where the amplitude is small relative to the wavelength and the time dependence approaches 0 for large . Initially, the flow is directed outwards from the crest of the deformation and slows with the slowing of the boundary motion. A domain-perturbation method is used to reveal that, when the boundary stops moving, nonlinear interactions with the free surface leave a remnant momentum directed back towards the crest, and this momentum can be a precursor to jet formation. This scenario arises in a laser-induced printing technique in which an expanding blister imparts momentum into a liquid film to form a jet. The analysis provides insight into the physics underlying the interaction between the deforming boundary and free surface, in particular, the dependence of the remnant flow on the thickness of the liquid layer and the deformation amplitude and wavelength. Numerical simulations are used to show the range of validity of the analytical results, and the domain-perturbation solution is extended to an axisymmetric domain with a Gaussian boundary deformation to compare with previous numerical simulations of blister-actuated laser-induced forward transfer.The authors gratefully acknowledge financial support for this research from the Na-

Some mixed Hodge structure on l^2-cohomology of covering of K\"ahler manifolds
We give methods to compute l^2-cohomology groups of a covering manifolds
obtained by removing pullback of a (normal crossing) divisor to a covering of a
compact K\"ahler manifold. We prove that in suitable quotient categories, these
groups admit natural mixed Hodge structure whose graded pieces are given by

Economical and scalable synthesis of 6-amino-2-cyanobenzothiazole
2-Cyanobenzothiazoles (CBTs) are useful building blocks for: 1) luciferin derivatives for bioluminescent imaging; and 2) handles for bioorthogonal ligations. A particularly versatile CBT is 6-amino-2-cyanobenzothiazole (ACBT), which has an amine handle for straight-forward derivatisation. Here we present an economical and scalable synthesis of ACBT based on a cyanation catalysed by 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO), and discuss its advantages for scale-up over previously reported routes
Benchmark Problems in Eddy-Current NDE
Inversion of eddy-current data and the reconstruction of flaws is the preeminent problem in electromagnetic nondestructive evaluation (NDE). This places a premium on developing good forward models for computing field-flaw interactions, because all inversion algorithms must, of necessity, rely on such calculations. There has evolved in recent years several sophisticated computational models for the forward problem [1â4], but these models differ significantly in their theoretical and numerical approaches. Riociguat: Mode of action and clinical development in pulmonary hypertension
Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) are progressive and debilitating diseases characterized by gradual obstruction of the pulmonary vasculature, leading to elevated pulmonary artery pressure and increased pulmonary vascular resistance. If untreated, they can result in death due to right heart failure. Riociguat is a novel soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) stimulator that is approved for the treatment of PAH and CTEPH. Here we describe in detail the role of the nitric oxide-sGC-cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) signaling pathway in the pathogenesis of PAH and CTEPH, and the mode of action of riociguat. We also review the preclinical data associated with the development of riociguat, along with the efficacy and safety data of riociguat from initial clinical trials and the pivotal Phase III randomized clinical trials in PAH and CTEPH
A double-blind, randomised, controlled trial of protein supplementation to enhance exercise capacity in COPD during pulmonary rehabilitation: a pilot study
Background: Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is a cost-effective management strategy in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) which improves exercise performance and health-related quality of life. Nutritional supplementation may counter malnutrition and enhance PR outcomes but rigorous evidence is absent. We aimed to investigate the effect of high protein-supplementation (Fortisip Compact Protein, FCP) during PR on exercise capacity.
Methods: A double-blind randomised controlled trial comparing FCP with preOp (a carbohydrate control supplement) in COPD patients participating in a PR programme. Participants consumed the supplement twice a day during PR and attended twice-weekly PR sessions, with pre- and post-PR measurements including the incremental shuttle walk test (ISWT) at 6-weeks as the primary outcome. Participantsâ experience using supplements was assessed.
Results: Sixty-eight patients were recruited; (FCP: 36 and control: 32). The trial was stopped early due to COVID-19. Although statistical significance was not reached, there was the suggestion of a clinically meaningful difference in ISWT at 6â
weeks favouring the intervention group (intervention: 342â
m±149; n=22 versus control: 305â
m±148; n=22, p=0.1). Individuals who achieved an improvement in ISWT had larger mid-thigh circumference at baseline (responder: 62â
cm±4 versus non-responder: 55â
cm±6; p=0.006). 79% were satisfied with the taste and 43% would continue taking the FCP.
Conclusion: Although the data did not demonstrate a statistically significant difference in ISWT, high protein supplementation in COPD during PR may result in a clinically meaningful improvement in exercise capacity and was acceptable to patients. Large, adequately powered studies are justified
