Spin Two Glueball Mass and Glueball Regge Trajectory from Supergravity
We calculate the mass of the lowest lying spin two glueball in N=1 super
Yang-Mills from the dual Klebanov-Strassler background. We show that the Regge
trajectory obtained is linear; the 0++, 1-- and 2++ states lie on a line of
slope 0.23 -measured in units of the conifold deformation. We also compare mass
ratios with lattice data and find agreement within one standard deviation.Comment: 17 pages, 2 figure
RGL2 controls flower development, ovule number and fertility in Arabidopsis
[EN] DELLA proteins are a group of plant specific GRAS proteins of transcriptional regulators that have a key role in gibberellin (GA) signaling. In Arabidopsis, the DELLA family is formed by five members. The complexity of this gene family raises the question on whether single DELLA proteins have specific or overlapping functions in the control of several GA-dependent developmental processes. To better understand the roles played by RGL2, one of the DELLA proteins in Arabidopsis, two transgenic lines that express fusion proteins of Venus-RGL2 and a dominant version of RGL2, YPet-rgl2A17, were generated by recombineering strategy using a genomic clone that contained the RGL2 gene. The dominant YPet-rg12 Delta 17 protein is not degraded by GAs, and therefore it blocks the RGL2-dependent GA signaling and hence RGL2-dependent development. The RGL2 role in seed germination was further confirmed using these genetic tools, while new functions of RGL2 in plant development were uncovered. RGL2 has a clear function in the regulation of flower development, particularly stamen growth and anther dehiscence, which has a great impact in fertility. Moreover, the increased ovule number in the YPet-rg12 Delta 17 line points out the role of RGL2 in the determination of ovule number. We wish to thank Ms. J. The Shape of Gravity in a Warped Deformed Conifold
We study the spectrum of the gravitational modes in Minkowski spacetime due
to a 6-dimensional warped deformed conifold, i.e., a warped throat, in
superstring theory. After identifying the zero mode as the usual 4D graviton,
we present the KK spectrum as well as other excitation modes. Gluing the throat
to the bulk (a realistic scenario), we see that the graviton has a rather
uniform probability distribution everywhere while a KK mode is peaked in the
throat, as expected. Due to the suppressed measure of the throat in the wave
function normalization, we find that a KK mode's probability in the bulk can be
comparable to that of the graviton mode. We also present the tunneling
probabilities of a KK mode from the inflationary throat to the bulk and to
another throat. Due to resonance effect, the latter may not be suppressed as
natively expected. Implication of this property to reheating after brane
inflation is discussed
Glueballs, symmetry breaking and axionic strings in non-supersymmetric deformations of the Klebanov-Strassler background
We obtain an analytic solution for an axionic non-supersymmetric deformation
of the warped deformed conifold. This allows us to study D-strings in the
infrared limit of non-supersymmetric deformations of the Klebanov-Strassler
background. They are interpreted as axionic strings in the dual field theory.
Following the arguments of [hep-th/0405282], the axion is a massless
pseudo-scalar glueball which is present in the supergravity fluctuation
spectrum and it is interpreted as the Goldstone boson of the spontaneously
broken U(1) baryon number symmetry, being the gauge theory on the baryonic
branch. Besides, we briefly discuss about the Pando Zayas-Tseytlin solution
where the SU(2) \times SU(2) global symmetry is spontaneously broken. This
background has been conjectured to be on the mesonic branch of the gauge
theory.Comment: 30 pages; V2: minor corrections; V3: section 3 corrected and

Drag Force in a Charged N=4 SYM Plasma
Following recent developments, we employ the AdS/CFT correspondence to
determine the drag force exerted on an external quark that moves through an N=4
super-Yang-Mills plasma with a non-zero R-charge density (or, equivalently, a
non-zero chemical potential). We find that the drag force is larger than in the
case where the plasma is neutral, but the dependence on the charge is
non-monotonic.Comment: 16 pages, 1 eps figure; v2: references added, typos fixed; v3: more

Glueballs of Super Yang-Mills from Wrapped Branes
In this paper we study qualitative features of glueballs in N=1 SYM for
models of wrapped branes in IIA and IIB backgrounds. The scalar mode, 0++ is
found to be a mixture of the dilaton and the internal part of the metric. We
carry out the numerical study of the IIB background. The potential found
exhibits a mass gap and produces a discrete spectrum without any cut-off. We
propose a regularization procedure needed to make these states normalizable.Comment: 22 pages plus a appendixes, 2 figure
Impact of tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis immunization during pregnancy on subsequent infant immunization seroresponses : follow-up from a large randomized placebo-controlled trial
Background: Pertussis immunization during pregnancy results in high pertussis antibody concentrations in young infants but may interfere with infant immune responses to post-natal immunization. Methods: This phase IV, multi-country, open-label study assessed the immunogenicity and safety of infant primary vaccination with DTaP-HepB-IPV/Hib and 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13). Enrolled infants (6\u201314 weeks old) were born to mothers who were randomized to receive reduced-antigen-content diphtheria-tetanus-three-component acellular pertussis vaccine (Tdap group) or placebo (control group) during pregnancy (270/7\u2013366/7 weeks\u2019 gestation) with crossover immunization postpartum. All infants received 2 or 3 DTaP-HepB-IPV/Hib and PCV13 doses according to national schedules. Immunogenicity was assessed in infants pre- and 1 month post-primary vaccination. The primary objective was to assess seroprotection/vaccine response rates for DTaP-HepB-IPV/Hib antigens 1 month post-primary vaccination. Results: 601 infants (Tdap group: 296; control group: 305) were vaccinated. One month post-priming, seroprotection rates were 100% (diphtheria; tetanus), 6598.5% (hepatitis B), 6595.9% (polio) and 6594.5% (Hib) in both groups. Vaccine response rates for pertussis antigens were significantly lower in infants whose mothers received pregnancy Tdap (37.5\u201377.1%) versus placebo (90.0\u201399.2%). Solicited and unsolicited adverse event rates were similar between groups. Serious adverse events occurred in 2.4% (Tdap group) and 5.6% (control group) of infants, none were vaccination-related. Conclusions: Pertussis antibodies transferred during pregnancy may decrease the risk of pertussis infection in the first months of life but interfere with the infant's ability to produce pertussis antibodies, the clinical significance of which remains unknown. Safety and reactogenicity results were consistent with previous experience
