The Antecedents and Consequences of Word of Mouth: A Meta-Analysis
Abstract. Word of Mouth (WOM) has been an important issue in Marketing research. This paper adopted Meta-analysis method to make quantitative review for the antecedents and consequences of WOM. The results facilitate scholarship in this academic area by clarify the cause-effect linkages when researching on WOM. Theoretical and practical implications were discussed.Keywords. Persistent currents in a Bose-Einstein condensate in the presence of disorder
We examine bosonic atoms that are confined in a toroidal,
quasi-one-dimensional trap, subjected to a random potential. The resulting
inhomogeneous atomic density is smoothened for sufficiently strong, repulsive
interatomic interactions. Statistical analysis of our simulations show that the
gas supports persistent currents, which become more fragile due to the

In-medium relativistic kinetic theory and nucleon-meson systems
Within the model of coupled nucleon-meson systems, a
generalized relativistic Lenard--Balescu--equation is presented resulting from
a relativistic random phase approximation (RRPA). This provides a systematic
derivation of relativistic transport equations in the frame of nonequilibrium
Green's function technique including medium effects as well as flucuation
effects. It contains all possible processes due to one meson exchange and
special attention is kept to the off--shell character of the particles. As a
new feature of many particle effects, processes are possible which can be
interpreted as particle creation and annihilation due to in-medium one meson
exchange. In-medium cross sections are obtained from the generalized derivation

Split-merge cycle, fragmented collapse, and vortex disintegration in rotating Bose-Einstein condensates with attractive interactions
The dynamical instabilities and ensuing dynamics of singly- and
doubly-quantized vortex states of Bose-Einstein condensates with attractive
interactions are investigated using full 3D numerical simulations of the
Gross-Pitaevskii equation. With increasing the strength of attractive
interactions, a series of dynamical instabilities such as quadrupole, dipole,
octupole, and monopole instabilities emerge. The most prominent instability
depends on the strength of interactions, the geometry of the trapping
potential, and deviations from the axisymmetry due to external perturbations.
Singly-quantized vortices split into two clusters and subsequently undergo
split-merge cycles in a pancake-shaped trap, whereas the split fragments
immediately collapse in a spherical trap. Doubly-quantized vortices are always
unstable to disintegration of the vortex core. If we suddenly change the
strength of interaction to within a certain range, the vortex splits into three
clusters, and one of the clusters collapses after a few split-merge cycles. The
vortex split can be observed using a current experimental setup of the MIT

Three-dimensional lattice-Boltzmann simulations of critical spinodal decomposition in binary immiscible fluids
We use a modified Shan-Chen, noiseless lattice-BGK model for binary
immiscible, incompressible, athermal fluids in three dimensions to simulate the
coarsening of domains following a deep quench below the spinodal point from a
symmetric and homogeneous mixture into a two-phase configuration. We find the
average domain size growing with time as , where increases
in the range , consistent with a crossover between
diffusive and hydrodynamic viscous, , behaviour. We find
good collapse onto a single scaling function, yet the domain growth exponents
differ from others' works' for similar values of the unique characteristic
length and time that can be constructed out of the fluid's parameters. This
rebuts claims of universality for the dynamical scaling hypothesis. At early
times, we also find a crossover from to in the scaled structure
function, which disappears when the dynamical scaling reasonably improves at
later times. This excludes noise as the cause for a behaviour, as
proposed by others. We also observe exponential temporal growth of the
structure function during the initial stages of the dynamics and for

N-body simulations of gravitational dynamics
We describe the astrophysical and numerical basis of N-body simulations, both
of collisional stellar systems (dense star clusters and galactic centres) and
collisionless stellar dynamics (galaxies and large-scale structure). We explain
and discuss the state-of-the-art algorithms used for these quite different
regimes, attempt to give a fair critique, and point out possible directions of
future improvement and development. We briefly touch upon the history of N-body

Thermodynamic Measurements in a Strongly Interacting Fermi Gas
We conduct a series of measurements on the thermodynamic properties of an
optically-trapped strongly interacting Fermi gas, including the energy ,
entropy , and sound velocity . Our model-independent measurements of
and enable a precision study of the finite temperature thermodynamics. The
data are directly compared to several recent predictions. The
temperature in both the superfluid and normal fluid regime is obtained from the
fundamental thermodynamic relation by parameterizing
the data. Our data are also used to experimentally calibrate the
endpoint temperatures obtained for adiabatic sweeps of the magnetic field
between the ideal and strongly interacting regimes. This enables the first
experimental calibration of the temperature scale used in experiments on
fermionic pair condensation. Our calibration shows that the ideal gas
temperature measured for the onset of pair condensation corresponds closely to
the critical temperature estimated in the strongly interacting regime from the
fits to our data. The results are in very good agreement with recent
predictions. Finally, using universal thermodynamic relations, we estimate the

Influência de práticas culturais e da resistência genética na intensidade do cancro da haste e produção de soja no Cerrado
Os efeitos de práticas culturais e resistência genética na intensidade ao cancro-da-haste da soja (Diaporthe phaseolorum f.sp. meridionalis - Dpm) foram examinados na safra 1995-96 em áreas de produção comercial, que haviam sido severamente atacadas na safra anterior (1994-95). Um experimento investigou os efeitos de cultivo mÃnimo (MT) e do plantio direto (NT) no desenvolvimento da doença e produtividade das cultivares FT-Cristalina e FT-Seriema. Em outro experimento, semeado em plantio direto, estudou-se o efeito da densidade de plantas (8, 15, 21 e 36 plantas/m) no desenvolvimento da doença e produtividade das cvs. FT-Cristalina (suscetivel), FT- 101 (moderadamente resistente) e FT-104 (resistente). Incidência e severidade da doença foram menores em NT do que em MT. A produtividade aumentou no sistema NT (23% para ‘FT-Cristalina’ e 14% para ‘FT-Seriema’), comparada com as produtividades em MT. As curvas de progresso da doença foram melhor descritas pelos mo- delos de Gompertz e logÃstico. A severidade do cancro aumentou pro- porcionalmente ao aumento das densidades de plantio nas cvs. suscetÃvel e moderadamente resistente. No final do ciclo, 100% das plantas da cv. FT-Cristalina estavam infetadas por Dpm, em todas as densidades de plantio. NÃveis intermediários de doença foram observa- dos na cv. FT-101, enquanto apenas nÃveis muito baixos de doença ocorreram na cv. FT-104. Estabeleceu-se uma correlação negativa entre severidade de cancro-da-haste e produção. Algumas das práticas estudadas demonstraram potential para aplicação direta no controle da doença, e poderiam ser combinadas considerando-se seus efeitos aditivos.Field experiments were conducted in the 1995-96 soybean (Glycine max) growing season to evaluate the effects of cultural practices and host genetic resistance on the intensity of soybean stem canker, caused by Diaporthe phaseolorum f.sp. meridionalis (Dpm). Experiments were conducted in a commercial field severely infected in the previous (1994-95) season. In one study, minimum tillage (MT) and no-tillage (NT) cropping systems were investigated for their effects on disease development and on plant yields in cvs. FT- Cristalina (susceptible) and FT-Seriema (moderately resistant). Another study evaluated the effects of plant densities (8, 15, 21 and 36 plants/m) on disease development in cvs. FT-Cristalina, FT-101 (moderately resistant) and FT-104 (resistant). Disease incidence and severity were consistently lower in NT than in MT, and plant yields were increased by 23% and 14% in the NT system for the susceptible and moderately resistant cultivars, respectively, compared to the yields in the MT system. The Gompertz and Logistic models described well the disease progress curves in all situations. For both susceptible and moderately resistant cultivars, disease severity increased proportionately to the increase in plant densities. At the end of the season, 100% of the plants of cv. FT-Cristalina were infected by Dpm, at all plant densities. Disease levels on cv. FT-101 were intermediate while only very low disease levels were recorded on cv. FT-104. There was a consistent negative correlation between stem canker severity and yield. Some practices demonstrated potential for direct application in disease control, and could be combined considering their additive effects
