Heavy quark spin symmetric molecular states from Dˉ(∗)Σc(∗){\bar D}^{(*)}\Sigma_c^{(*)} and other coupled channels in the light of the recent LHCb pentaquarks

We consider the Dˉ(∗)Σc(∗){\bar D}^{(*)}\Sigma_c^{(*)} states, together with J/ψNJ/\psi N and other coupled channels, and take an interaction consistent with heavy quark spin symmetry, with the dynamical input obtained from an extension of the local hidden gauge approach. By fitting only one parameter to the recent three pentaquark states reported by the LHCb collaboration, we can reproduce the three of them in base to the mass and the width, providing for them the quantum numbers and approximate molecular structure as 1/2−1/2^- DˉΣc\bar{D} \Sigma_c, 1/2−1/2^- Dˉ∗Σc\bar{D}^* \Sigma_c, and 3/2−3/2^- Dˉ∗Σc\bar{D}^* \Sigma_c, and isospin I=1/2I=1/2. We find another state around 4374 MeV, of 3/2−3/2^- DˉΣc∗\bar{D} \Sigma_c^* structure, for which indications appear in the experimental spectrum. Two other near degenerate states of 1/2−1/2^- Dˉ∗Σc∗\bar{D}^* \Sigma_c^* and 3/2−3/2^- Dˉ∗Σc∗\bar{D}^* \Sigma_c^* nature are also found around 4520 MeV, which although less clear, are not incompatible with the observed spectrum. In addition, a 5/2−5/2^- Dˉ∗Σc∗\bar D^* \Sigma_c^* state at the same energy appears, which however does not couple to J/ψpJ/\psi p in S−S-wave, and hence it is not expected to show up in the LHCb experiment.Comment: 8 page

    Photons, neutrinos and optical activity

We compute the one-loop helicity amplitudes for low-energy νγ→νγ\nu\gamma\to\nu\gamma scattering and its crossed channels in the standard model with massless neutrinos. In the center of mass, with s=2ω≪2me\sqrt{s} = 2\omega\ll 2m_e, the cross sections for these 2→22\to 2 channels grow roughly as ω6\omega^6. The scattered photons in the elastic channel are circularly polarized and the net value of the polarization is non-zero. We also present a discussion of the optical activity of a sea of neutrinos and estimate the values of its index of refraction and rotary power.Comment: 9 pages, ReVTeX4, 6 figures include

The S11−NS_{11}- N(1535) and −N-N(1650) Resonances in Meson-Baryon Unitarized Coupled Channel Chiral Perturbation Theory

The s−s-wave meson-baryon scattering is analyzed for the strangeness S=0 sector in a Bethe-Salpeter coupled channel formalism incorporating Chiral Symmetry. Four channels have been considered: πN\pi N, ηN\eta N, KΛK \Lambda, KΣK \Sigma. The needed two particle irreducible matrix amplitude is taken from lowest order Chiral Perturbation Theory in a relativistic formalism and low energy constants are fitted to the elastic πN\pi N phase-shifts and the π−p→ηn\pi^- p \to \eta n and π−p→K0Λ\pi^- p \to K^0 \Lambda cross section data. The position of the complex poles in the second Riemann sheet of the scattering amplitude determine masses and widths of the S11−S_{11}- NN(1535) and −N-N(1650) resonances, in reasonable agreement with experiment. A good overall description of data, from πN\pi N threshold up to 2 GeV, is achieved keeping in mind that the two pion production channel has not been included.Comment: 35 pages, LaTeX + 7 ps-figure files. Neutrino Interactions Importance for Nuclear Physics

We review the general interplay between Nuclear Physics and neutrino-nucleus cross sections at intermediate and high energies. The effects of different reaction mechanisms over the neutrino observables are illustrated with examples in calculations using several nuclear models and ingredients.Comment: To appear in the proceedings of 6th International Workshop on Neutrino-Nucleus Interactions in the Few-GeV Region (NuInt09), Sitges, Spain, 18 - 22 May 200

Fermion and Anti-Fermion Effective Masses in High Temperature Gauge Theories in CPCP-Asymmetric Background

We calculate the splitting between fermion and anti-fermion effective masses in high temperature gauge theories in the presence of a non-vanishing chemical potential due to the CPCP-asymmetric fermionic background. In particular we consider the case of left-handed leptons in the SU(2)⊗U(1)SU(2)\otimes U(1) theory when the temperature is above 250250 GeV and the gauge symmetry is restored.Comment: 13 pages, TIPAC-93001

The Inverse Amplitude Method in ππ\pi\pi Scattering in Chiral Perturbation Theory to Two Loops

    Get PDF
The inverse amplitude method is used to unitarize the two loop ππ\pi\pi scattering amplitudes of SU(2) Chiral Perturbation Theory in the I=0,J=0I=0,J=0, I=1,J=1I=1,J=1 and I=2,J=0I=2,J=0 channels. An error analysis in terms of the low energy one-loop parameters lˉ1,2,3,4,\bar l_{1,2,3,4,} and existing experimental data is undertaken. A comparison to standard resonance saturation values for the two loop coefficients bˉ1,2,3,4,5,6\bar b_{1,2,3,4,5,6} is also carried out. Crossing violations are quantified and the convergence of the expansion is discussed.Comment: (Latex, epsfig) 30 pages, 13 figures, 8 table

Three methods to detect the predicted DDˉ scalar meson X(3700)

In analogy to the f(0)(500), which appears as a pi pi resonance in chiral unitary theory, and the f(0)(980), which appears as a quasibound K (K) over bar state, the extension of this approach to the charm sector also predicts a quasibound D (D) over bar state with mass around 3720 MeV, named as X(3700), for which some experimental support is seen in the e(+)e(-) -> J/psi D (D) over bar reaction close to the D (D) over bar threshold. In the present work we propose three different experiments to observe it as a clear peak. The first one is the radiative decay of the psi(3770), psi(3770) -> gamma X(3700) -> gamma eta eta'. The second one proposes the analogous reaction psi(4040) -> gamma X(3700) -> gamma eta eta' and the third reaction is the e(+)e(-) -> J/psi X(3700) -> J/psi eta eta'. Neat peaks are predicted for all the reactions and the calculated rates are found within measurable range in present facilities
