Analysis and control of bifurcation and chaos in averaged queue length in TCP/RED model
This paper studies the bifurcation and chaos phenomena in averaged queue length in a
developed Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) model with Random Early Detection
(RED) mechanism. Bifurcation and chaos phenomena are nonlinear behaviour in network
systems that lead to degradation of the network performance. The TCP/RED model used
is a model validated previously. In our study, only the average queue size k q
−
is
considered, and the results are based on analytical model rather than actual measurements.
The instabilities in the model are studied numerically using the conventional nonlinear
bifurcation analysis. Extending from this bifurcation analysis, a modified RED algorithm
is derived to prevent the observed bifurcation and chaos regardless of the selected
parameters. Our modification is for the simple scenario of a single RED router carrying
only TCP traffic. The algorithm neither compromises the throughput nor the average
queuing delay of the system
Spinning Particles on Spacelike Hypersurfaces and their Rest-Frame Description
A new spinning particle with a definite sign of the energy is defined on
spacelike hypersurfaces after a critical discussion of the standard spinning
particles. They are the pseudoclassical basis of the positive energy [or negative energy ] parts of the solutions of the Dirac equation. The study of the isolated system of N
such spinning charged particles plus the electromagnetic field leads to their
description in the rest-frame Wigner-covariant instant form of dynamics on the
Wigner hyperplanes orthogonal to the total 4-momentum of the isolated system
(when it is timelike). We find that on such hyperplanes these spinning
particles have a nonminimal coupling only of the type "spin-magnetic field"
like the nonrelativistic Pauli particles to which they tend in the
nonrelativistic limit. The Lienard-Wiechert potentials associated with these
charged spinning particles are found. Then, a comment on how to quantize the
spinning particles respecting their fibered structure describing the spin

Multi-wavelength observations of the binary system PSR B1259-63/LS 2883 around the 2010-2011 periastron passage
We report on broad multi-wavelength observations of the 2010-2011 periastron
passage of the gamma-ray loud binary system PSR B1259-63. High resolution
interferometric radio observations establish extended radio emission trailing
the position of the pulsar. Observations with the Fermi Gamma-ray Space
Telescope reveal GeV gamma-ray flaring activity of the system, reaching the
spin-down luminosity of the pulsar, around 30 days after periastron. There are
no clear signatures of variability at radio, X-ray and TeV energies at the time
of the GeV flare. Variability around periastron in the H emission line,
can be interpreted as the gravitational interaction between the pulsar and the
circumstellar disk. The equivalent width of the H grows from a few days
before periastron until a few days later, and decreases again between 18 and 46
days after periastron. In near infrared we observe the similar decrease of the
equivalent width of Br line between the 40th and 117th day after the
periastron. For the idealized disk, the variability of the H line
represents the variability of the mass and size of the disk. We discuss
possible physical relations between the state of the disk and GeV emission
under assumption that GeV flare is directly related to the decrease of the disk

Formal Specification and Testing of a Management Architecture
The importance of network and distributed systems management to supply and maintain services required by users has led to a demand for management facilities. Open network management is assisted by representing the system resources to be managed as objects, and providing standard services and protocols for interrogating and manipulating these objects. This paper examines the application of formal description techniques to the specification of managed objects by presenting a case study in the specification and testing of a management architecture. We describe a formal specification of a management architecture suitable for scheduling and distributing services across nodes in a distributed system. In addition, we show how formal specifications can be used to generate conformance tests for the management architecture

Hydrokinetic predictions for femtoscopy scales in A+A collisions in the light of recent ALICE LHC results
A study of energy behavior of the pion spectra and interferometry scales is
carried out for the top SPS, RHIC and for LHC energies within the hydrokinetic
approach. The main mechanisms that lead to the paradoxical, at first sight,
dependence of the interferometry scales with an energy growth, in particular, a
decrease ratio, are exposed. The hydrokinetic predictions
for the HBT radii at LHC energies are compared with the recent results of the
