Erweiterte Möglichkeiten für das Experimentieren im Physikunterricht durch den Einsatz eines neu entwickelten energieauflösenden Detektors für Röntgenstrahlen

Die vorgestellte Arbeit befasst sich mit den Problemen des Schulunterrichts in der Quanten- und Atomphysik mit dem Schwerpunkt "Röntgenstrahlen". Es werden die physikalischen Grundlagen für die Erzeugung der Röntgenstrahlung, ihrer Absorption und Streuung sowie für den Nachweis der Röntgenstrahlung dargestellt. Anhand der Analyse der Lehrpläne verschiedener Bundesländer, der modernen methodischen Konzepte für den Unterricht in Quanten- und Atomphysik, der Schulbücher und anderer Literatur ist ein Mangel an Demonstrationsmöglichkeiten bei einigen Schlüsselexperimenten festgestellt worden. In der Arbeit ist ein neu entwickelter energieauflösender Detektor für Röntgenstrahlung beschrieben, der die gewünschten Experimente durchführen lässt und zudem mit den existierenden Schulröntgengeräten benutzt und zu einem für die Schule erschwinglichen Preis erworben werden kann. Außerdem ist eine Software präsentiert, die den praktischen Einsatz des Detektors im Unterricht ermöglicht. Mit der Software können die Daten vom Detektor aufgenommen, dargestellt und ausgewertet werden. Die Arbeit enthält auch die ausgearbeitete Beschreibungen zu Experimenten mit dem entwickelten Detektor, die viele Themen der Quanten- und Atomphysik abdecken. Es sind Experimentieranleitungen sowohl für Praktikumsexperimente mit ausgedehnten quantitativen Untersuchungen als auch für kurze anschauliche Demonstrationsexperimente dargestellt. Die Anleitungen beinhalten alle nötigen theoretischen Grundlagen und Aufbauhinweise und ermöglichen es, auch wahlweise nur einzelne Experimente durchzuführen

Analysis of M & A agreements and their sectoral characteristics

The article analyzes the theoretical foundations of M&A agreements of different companies. The types and forms of M&A agreements were investigated. Due to the conducted analysis on the sectoral distribution of M&A agreements, it was concluded that the industry leader in this area was the mechanical and industrial equipment production, which led the industry rankings in terms of amount and value of such agreements in 2018. The main factors of the increase of M&A processes in the insurance industry in 2018 are introduced in the paper – raise of interest rates, increase of the amount of available capital, improved conditions for the world economy development, tax reform in the USA. Much attention is also paid to M&A banking activities in the USA. The article points out that the healthcare sector has been dominated by the ten largest pharmaceutical companies with the highest return on investments, which spent an average of 35% on M&A of total investment volume in R&D and M&A in recent years

Analysis of the world market trends of mergers and acquisitions

Розглянуто динаміку розвитку світового ринку злиття й поглинання з 1895 року до сьогодення. Уточнено тимчасові рамки світових хвиль злиття й поглинання, причини їх виникнення і спаду, а також виявлення відповідності або невідповідності трендів розвитку світових ринків злиття й поглинання. Чітка диференціація тимчасових рамок хвиль злиття й поглинання дозволила визначити основні особливості угод кожної з хвиль, а також головні причини виникнення спаду хвиль. Окрім традиційних п’яти хвиль злиття й поглинання у роботі запропоновано ще дві хвилі – шосту 2003– 2013 років та сьому (з 2014 року до сьогодні). Визначено, що активність угод на ринку M&A другої половини минулого століття в цілому відповідають циклам Жюгляра, тобто середньострокових економічних циклів з періодом – 7–11 років. Серед тенденцій хвиль злиття й поглинання XXI сторіччя можна виділити значний вплив процесів глобалізації, тренд на угоди в сфері інформаційних технологій, тренд на створення малого інноваційного бізнесу (стартапу) і його швидкий продаж інтернет-гігантам, збільшення кількості угод у високотехнологічних галузях промисловості (авіаційна й космічна, автомобільна, хімічна) та сфері послуг при їх зниженні у фінансовому секторі й добувної промисловості, збільшення масштабів мегаугод, посилення ролі ринку інтеграційних угод країн, що розвиваються, перш за все країн БРІКП (Бразилія, Росія, Індія, Китай, ПАР). Більшість угод укладається в рамках реалізації стратегії транскордонної горизонтальної й вертикальної інтеграцій, зниження частки ринку злиттів й поглинань США на світовому ринку злиття й поглинання, поширенням угод M&A заради отримання людського капіталу й поглинанням західними компаніями виробників ресурсів у країнах, що розвиваються. Значна увага приділена аналізу останньої хвилі та аналізу її особливостей – фази пожвавлення у 2013– 2014 роках, фази підйому у 2015 році, фази рецесії – 2008 року, фази депресії у 2010–2013 роках. Представлено інформацію по операціях злиття й поглинання в 2018 році у країнах-лідерах. Проаналізовано показники напрямку у 2019 році.The dynamics of the world market of mergers and acquisitions development from 1895 till present is considered in this paper. The timeframe of the global mergers and acquisitions waves, the reasons of their occurence and recession, as well as determination of the correspondence or inconsistency of trends in the world mergers and acquisitions markets development are clarified in this paper. The clear differentiation of the timeframes of merger and acquisition waves makes it possible to determine the basic features of the agreements of each of the waves, as well as the main causes for waves recession. In addition to the traditional five mergers and acquisitions waves, two more waves are proposed – the sixth in 2003–2013 and the seventh (2014 till present). It is determined that the transactions activity in M&A market in the second half of the last century generally corresponds to Juglar cycles, i. e. medium-term economic cycles with 7–11 years period. The trends of mergers and acquisitions of the 21st century include the significant impact of globalization processes, the trend in information technology agreements, the trend towards creating small innovative business (startup) and its rapid sale to the Internet giants, the increasing number of transactions in high-tech industries (aviation and space, automotive, chemical) and services while reducing them in the financial sector and mining industry, the increasing scale of mega-agreements, strengthening the market role of the integration agreements of developing countries, first of all, the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, Republic of South Africa), most of the agreements are concluded within the framework of the cross-border horizontal and vertical integration strategy, reduction of the market share of the USA mergers and acquisitions in the global M&A market, expansion of M&A agreements in order to obtain human capital and acquisition by Western resource producers companies in developing countries. Much attention is paid to the analysis of the last wave and its peculiarities analysis – 2013–2014 revival phases, rise phases in 2015, recession phases – 2008, depression phases in 2010–2013. Comparative assessment of vehicle anti-lock braking system operation using friction brake mechanisms and e-machine in the vehicle with electric drive of traction wheels

Study of the braking process of the vehicle with an electric machine in the traction wheels drive equipped with an anti-lock braking system (ABS), where the actuators are the electric machine and friction brake mechanisms, is a relevant task. This is related to the worldwide trending increase in the share of production of vehicles with an electric machine within the transmission. In this paper, the "traditional" ABS and two systems with different variants of usage of the electric machine and friction brake mechanisms as actuators are compared: 1. The electric machine fulfills the function of the wheel slip regulator; the friction brake mechanisms maintain constant pressure in the brake line, which depends on the tyre-road friction coefficient. 2. The friction brake mechanisms fulfill the function of the wheel slip regulator; the electric machine maintains the set brake torque. According to the study results, usage of the combined actuator system within the ABS allows reducing the braking distance significantly, raising the vehicle deceleration value and improving the driver's and passengers' comfort during braking

Maritime engine room simulator on-line (MERSol)

The STCW International Convention of IMO sets minimum qualification requirements for being a seafarer and is used in formal training of seafarers. A skills gap has emerged between traditional Maritime Education; the needs of the industry and seafarers ought to be able to apply increasing complex systems, regulations, and technologies especially when pandemic occurred, and traditional teaching method could not be used. MERSol-project developed seven study modules followed with assessment study modules ensuring the level of the theory knowledge. All related new regulations are included and tested in these assessment modules. Specific software, Engine Room Simulator (ERS) online by modern technology and digitalisation is the main product of the project. The first tests of Engine Room Simulator online have just finished before the 2022 Maritime Transportation Conference and the first findings will be published during this conference. MERSol supports the uptake of innovative approaches and digital online technologies for teaching and learning online to ensure qualifications requirements to be addressed. Designing and developing the study modules and assessment modules on a specific e-learning delivery platform allows cadets and seafarers to access the training program and learning materials over the internet at any time and any place. This is particularly relevant in the Maritime sector where seafarers are highly mobile and have less opportunity to take long face-to-face training courses whilst they are working. Primary target groups are new marine engineer cadets but also deck cadets and all mariners already at sea to update their knowledge of automation and digitalisation.
