The paper presents the results of an empirical study of specific features and the relationship between hardiness of students and prognostic potential of their personality. The methods of research comprised: theoretical analysis, empirical research (testing), qualitative analysis of the obtained data, mathematical and statistical data processing (SPSS Statistics, Excel). It has been found that students with a high level of prognostic potential development are distinguished by pronounced personality traits typical of hardy people. The authors have proved in the paper that the prognostic potential of students is a holistic system of personality resources, which is based on specific features of thinking and building a secondary image. There are criteria and development levels of the prognostic potential among students: an internal criterion (features of thinking and building secondary images) and an external criterion (the effectiveness of forecasting activities, the conformity of the stages of prognostic activity with the reference model). The prognostic potential is interconnected with personal and professional characteristics of students (features of the intellectual, communicative, emotional-volitional and motivation spheres). There are significant differences between students with different levels of development of prognostic potential according to the main personal and professional features. The correlation analysis of the data gave the following interrelations: there is a direct interrelationship between the level of development of prognostic potential and emotional stability of students; between the level of development of prognostic potential and such motives for studying at a university as professional and educational-cognitive motives; between the level of development of prognostic potential and the features of self-regulation. On the basis of the results of an empirical study, the authors designed a program for the prognostic potential development of students which includes active teaching methods, lectures, and trainings

Energy-Efficient Devices for Transporting and Feeding Bulk Materials in the Construction Industry

    No full text
Only in the construction industry millions of tons of bulk materials that need to be transported to the place of processing, storing and evenly or dosed feeding are recycled annually. Decreasing the costs of these processes will significantly reduce the cost of the finished product. The article presents a review of studies conducted in the field of storage, transport and feed bulk materials, and it describes the innovative design of energy-efficient disc vibrating feeder bulk materials

Formation of the Competences of Social Interaction at the Technical University

    No full text
The article is devoted to the matters of the formation of universal competences as the basis of higher technical education taking into account the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standards of Higher Education FSES HE 3+ and FSES HE 3++. The necessity of integration of social and humanitarian disciplines into the process of professional engineering training is proved. The authors describe their work on the development of the training course |Principles of Legislation and Social Interaction in Construction”, which united the disciplines “Psychology”, “Sociology”, “Political science”, “Law”. Authors have suggested to use the concept "Me" as the key element of this course, emphasizing personal responsibility of an individual for the social interaction. The authors present the results of the comparative analyses of the progress of the students, who studied the new course and those, who studied traditional separate disciplines. They prove that the results, gained within the competence approach, are significantly better, than the results, possible in case of the use of the traditional approach

The social-humanitarian disciplines in the technical university: for and against

    No full text
The article discusses the results of social research conducted with the students and the teachers of Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU). The contradictions between the opinions of University graduates and the teachers of technical and of social-humanitarian disciplines were discussed. The identified problems lie in the fact that the opinions about the level of socio-humanitarian training of students in the field of “Civil Engineering” are not agreed upon so far, the priorities in the content of socio-humanitarian disciplines (universal or practice-oriented) are not consistent as well

Motivational Preferences of the Managers in Production and Promotion of Innovative Materials and Technologies

    No full text
The article discusses the results of the comparative analysis of motivational profiles of managers, who work in the construction industry with innovative materials and technologies. In Russian construction industry the innovative building materials and technologies are being introduced slowly because of many reasons: the absence of a clear state policy in construction industry, dependence on the estate market. The purchasing possibility of the population is low. However, the innovation requires an appropriate motivational spirit of managers: “Interest and usefulness”, “Creativity”, “Achievement”, “Variety and change”

The interaction strategies and behaviour models in conflicts of Russian construction industry

The article discusses the results of the comparative analysis of interaction strategies and behavior models of managers (line and top) and professionals who work in the construction industry. The purpose of the research was to identify typical differences in the behavior of managers and professionals in the conflict situations in two of these three integrated factors: strategy of business communication and the model of behavior in the conflict. We used two test-questionnaires and some tasks (case-studies). The research showed the following result. The participants knew how to answer the questions correctly, how to choose the correct solution. However, their theoretical knowledge and practical skills, which are implemented in their life, are significantly different
