Development of a CMOS SOI pixel detector
We have developed a monolithic radiation pixel detector using silicon on insulator (SOI) with a commercial 0.15 m fullydepleted- SOI technology and a Czochralski high resistivity silicon substrate in place of a handle wafer. The SOI TEG (Test Element Group) chips with a size of 2.5 x 2.5mm2 consisting of 20 x 20 um2 pixels have been designed and manufactured. Performance tests with a laser light illumination and a . ray radioactive source indicate successful operation of the detector. We also brie y discuss the back gate effect as well as the simulation study
Experimental Signature of Medium Modifications for rho and omega Mesons in the 12 GeV p + A Reactions
The invariant mass spectra of e+e- pairs produced in 12-GeV proton-induced
nuclear reactions are measured at the KEK Proton-Synchrotron. On the low-mass
side of the omega meson peak, a significant enhancement over the known hadronic
sources has been observed. The mass spectra, including the excess, are well
reproduced by a model that takes into account the density dependence of the
vector meson mass modification, as theoretically predicted.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, Version accepted for Physical Review Lette
Installation and Test of the ATLAS Muon Endcap Trigger Chamber Electronics
For the detector commissioning planned in 2007, a sector assembly of the ATLAS muon endcap trigger chambers is being progressed in CERN. Final technical test of the electronics mounted on a sector must be made at this stage. For systematic test of the electronics (sector test), we have developed a DAQ system on top of the ATLAS online software framework. The system is not dedicated only for this test, but can be used also for the front-end detector part of the overall ATLAS DAQ system. In the presentation, the procedure, meaning and results of the sector test are discussed after brief introduction of the TGC electronics and the sector structure as a construction unit. We introduce plans of further detailed and elaborated tests for the whole system using cosmic ray and single halo muons when all the TGC sub-detector part is completed as concluding remark
Measurement of Inclusive Production of Neutral Pions from Upsilon(4S) Decays
Using the Belle detector operating at the KEKB e+e- storage ring, we have
measured the mean multiplicity and the momentum spectrum of neutral pions from
the decays of the Upsilon(4S) resonance. We measure a mean of 4.70 +/- 0.04 +/-
0.22 neutral pions per Upsilon(4S) decay.Comment: 15 pages, 4 figs. Submitted to Phys.Rev.
Measurement of CP asymmetries in decays
We report measurements of CP violation parameters in
decays based on a data sample of pairs collected
with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider. We
use decays for both mixing-induced and direct
violating asymmetry measurements and decays for the
direct CP violation measurement. The CP violation parameters obtained are and
. The
branching fraction of decay is measured to be
. The observed value
differs by 1.9 standard deviations from the value expected from an isospin sum
rule.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figure
Search for Decays at Belle
We present a search for the B-> pi e^+ e^- and B-> pi \mu^+ \mu^- decays,
with a data sample of 657 million BBbar pairs collected with the Belle detector
at the KEKB collider. Signal events are reconstructed from a charged
or a neutral pion candidate and a pair of oppositely charged electrons or
muons. No significant signal is observed and we set the upper limit on the
isospin-averaged branching fraction BF(B -> \pi \ell^+\ell^-) < 6.2x10^-8 at
the 90% confidence level.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures, accepted by PRD(RC
Measurement of B0d - B0d-bar mixing rate from the time evolution of dilepton events at the Upsilon(4S)
We report a determination of the B0d - B0d-bar mixing parameter Delta-m_d
based on the time evolution of dilepton yields in Upsilon(4S) decays. The
measurement is based on a 5.9 /fb data sample collected by the Belle detector
at KEKB. The proper-time difference distributions for same-sign and
opposite-sign dilepton events are simultaneously fitted to an expression
containing Delta-m_d as a free parameter. Using both muons and electrons, we
obtain Delta-m_d = 0.463 +- 0.008(stat.) +- 0.016(sys.) ps^{-1} This is the
first determination of Delta-m_d from time evolution measurements at the
Upsilon(4S). We also place limits on possible CPT violations.Comment: 12 pages, 2 figure
