Private benefits extraction in closely-held corporations: the case for multiple large shareholders

This paper investigates how multiple large shareholders share control and extract private benefits in closely-held corporations. We find that ownership structures with multiple large shareholders are common and very stable. Moreover, they seem to be, to a large extent, exogenously given. The structure of the controlling group of shareholders has a very significant impact on performance. Performance improves as the control group's ownership stake increases and, for a given ownership stake, as the number of members increases. The economic significance of the effects indicates that minority expropriation is a very important problem in closely-held firms

Se analiza en este artículo la influencia del cuento II, 5 del Decamerón de Boccaccio en la narrativa española de los Siglos de Oro, en concreto del episodio de la bajada a la tumba de Andreuccio, con la intención de deducir ciertos procedimientos generales en la imitación y para observar la presencia de elementos folclóricos. Asthma is the most common chronic respiratory disease in childhood and it is known that psychological factors such as anxiety have an important effect on it (Benéitez, et al., 2005). In 1994 Anastasio Rojo Vega published a list of books whose license for printing had been requested to the Consejo de Castilla. Althoug the researcher doesn’t identify it, the fact is that the name of Francisco de la Torre who had asiced permission to publish his poetry in 1588, was included in that list. So we have reviewed some hypothesis about this XVI century poetEn 1994 Anastasio Rojo Vega publicó una lista de obras para las cuales se había solicitado licencia de impresión ante el Consejo de Castilla; dentro de esa lista, aunque el investigador no lo identifica, se encuentra Francisco de la Torre, que pidió permiso para publicar sus poesías en 1588.
