Museum is a cultural institution which plays an important role in cultural tourism activities. Today, the role of traditional museums has shifted to become multipurpose in order to offer tangible and intangible products and services to their visitors. The tourism industry in Malaysia is heavily depending on their rich multiethnic and religion culture since the 50's. However, the progress of the museums in Malaysia is going at a slow phase although cultural tourism growth in the country is soaring. Any changes involving the museum sector in Malaysia went through a complicated process because it had to go through several stages and time consuming. The museum sector in Malaysia is lacking of creative management and administration style. Malaysia museum sector is left far behind almost 30 years compared to other developed countries. Notwithstanding, for the past ten years more Malaysian museums are shifting their roles to become modern museums by adapting creative ideas and technology. This study applied case study method on Malacca Maritime Museum. This is a traditional museum which comes up with new and fresh ideas by combining traditional, creativity and ICT elements to become modern museum. Hence, this museum remains competitive with other tourism attractions in Malaysia and the region

Revisited Leonardo Fibonacci law of golden mean as surface-centric approach for form sustainable in design

    Get PDF
The Golden Proportion is also known as the Golden Mean, Phi, or Divine Proportion, this law was made famous by Leonardo Fibonacci around 1200 A.D. He noticed that there was an absolute ratio that appears often throughout nature, a sort of design that is universally efficient in living things and pleasing to the human eye. The most renowned and influential product designer to work with such grid systems is Dieter Rams. Rams established a philosophy that was applied by Braun products that focused on providing clarity of function by avoiding superfluous. The divine proportion also has been used by companies like Apple to design products by Jonathan Ive, it is said to have been used by Twitter to create their new profile page, and has been used by major companies all over the world to design logos. The aim of this study is to assess whether the surface-centric approach has emotional effect to users and the objectives are to examine the relationship between the surface-centric approach and good design in the relationship between the surface-centric approach and consumer behaviour. This study is important as the framework will contribute to the body of knowledge in design methodology in search for ideas in form giving during designing process. It will also revive the approach of golden section in product design area

Multidisciplinary Approaches for Conservation and Awareness Programme at Langkawi Island

The main objective of this study is to foster awareness among the university students from multiple backgrounds about the importance of preserving ecotourism area for the environment at an ecotourism sites in Langkawi Island. Multidisciplinary approaches were conducted to get rich data set of this study since no proper research had been done at the site before. The result gained, showed that students would be more aware and careful with their behavior once they joined the river awareness and conservation program hence the program will educate and raise more understanding about our environment for visitors and ecotourism stakeholders. Keywords: awareness; ecotourism; forest conservation; multidisciplinary study. eISSN: 2398-4287© 2022. The Authors. Published for AMER ABRA cE-Bs by e-International Publishing House, Ltd., UK. Online learning is known as a crucial mode of the future of educational culture. Learning Management System (LMS) is a web based application where the learners are able to log on as well as access the courses which are allocate online to them. However, most LMS will simply manage the learning contents, the learning history data, the test results, and many more without managing the learning itself. Thus, the choice of an LMS is an important part of an organization's e-learning strategy and it will affect the organization for long period of time. Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) is a standard that allows the interoperability of learning tools and course content and provides a collection of specifications adapted from multiple sources to offer a comprehensive suite of e-learning capabilities that enable interoperability, accessibility and reusability of Web-based learning content. i-Learn Portal is the LMS platform that promote information sharing and resources for the academicians and students of the University of Technology MARA (UiTM), and the portal also provides standard content for the respective courses for student's perusal, extending the discussion or lecture at a class. The i-Learn Centre (i-LeC) of UiTM realizes that there is a need to standardize the i-Learn Portal towards world recognized LMS and therefore this research is done to understand SCORM and a comparative study among other selected global standards such as IEEE LTSC and IMS Global Consortium is carried out

Investigation of aspects of reproductive cycles of some selected fish species in River Hadejia, Jigawa State, Nigeria.

This work aims to analyse some aspects of reproductive cycles of some selected fish species in River Hadejia was carried out from July 2012 at June 2013. The following aspects were considered, reproduction and breeding cycles, sex determination, fecundity and Gonado – Samatic Index (GSI). Table 1 and 2 show the summary of the results obtained. While tables 3-12 show the detailed results obtained for the different stages of maturity and gonad development. The Gonado Somatic Index (GSI) was calculated as the percentage of Gonad-weight per body weight. Fecundity was determined by direct enumeration using a digital counter and egg diameter was determined using ocular eye piece with stage micrometer. Keywords: Reproduction, fecundity, Gonad Somatic Index (GSI)

Konsep Inovasi dalam Islam Menurut Pandangan Asatizah Inovatif: Innovation Concept in Islam Based on Innovative Asatizah

Relationships Derived from Physical Properties of Waste Cooking Oil / Diesel Blends and Biodiesel Fuels

    Get PDF
The aim of this study is to estimate mathematical relationships of vital fuel properties that are heating value, density, pour point, cloud point, flash point and viscosity of waste cooking oil/diesel blends and biodiesel fuels. The origin of both waste cooking oil (WCO) and biodiesel (BD) are from palm oil to keep the uniformity of this study. To find the fuel properties, experimentation methods are carried out to acquire data for each blend sample. The samples of blends prepared are ranging from 10% to 100% for both waste cooking oil and biodiesel blend with diesel respectively. From the data of fuel properties obtained, graphs of each fuel property against percentage of blends are plotted. Using Microsoft Excel, mathematical equation for each fuel property for WCO/Diesel and BD/Diesel blends are produced with their respective coefficient of determination denoted as R². The results have shown that the properties of the fuel mainly have polynomial relationships. The equations produced are important because fuel properties are prerequisite as input data for research regarding engine combustion diagnostically and in prediction. From the results obtained, it was also determined that BD blends are of better fuel characteristics than WCO blends because of the positive effects of transesterification
