Perspektifler 2017 Denizli dosyası

Okumaya koyulduğunuz derleme, Pamukkale Üniversitesi Mimarlık ve Tasarım Fakültesi öğretim elemanlarının bir kısmının yazılarını bir araya getiriyor. Yazı davetine fakültemizin Denizli vizyonunu ortaya koyan geleceğine ilişkin notlar düşen bir broşür-rapor kitaptan söz ederek çıkmıştık. Amaçladığımız, hem bizlerin akademik-proje bilgi ve fikirlerini ortaya koymak hem de yaşadığımız şehrin hızlı akan zaman içinde verilerini ve envanterini içeren raporunu tutmaktı. Bu bakımdan kitabın ismi şimdiki zamandan geleceğe bakış açısını anlatan ‘Perspektifler’ genel başlığını aldı. Her yıl çıkabilir mi bilemem ama belirli yıllarda çıkma hedefini gerçekleştirebilir. Kitabın alt başlığında bu yılın tarihinin (2017) yer alması bu yüzden. Denizli üzerinde benzer alandaki yazıları bir bütün halinde derlediğinden ilaveten ‘Denizli Dosyası’ dedik. Bölüm yazıları, ilgilisi ve meraklısına nazaran akademik-popülerlik arasındaki zor bir üslupta istendi. Yazı uzunluğunun 3500 kelime ile sınırlanması bile birikimli ve deneyimli yazarlarımız için kolay olmadı. Nihayet, ilgi çekecek bir dosya-kitap çıktı ortaya. Our clinical experience in pelvic magnetic resonance imaging with vaginal contrast

Objectives: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an important modality for pelvic imaging. Vaginal distension is provided by the use of vaginal contrast in pelvic MRI, and it plays an important role in staging especially cervical and vaginal cancer. The aim of this study is to show whether the use of vaginal contrast material contributes to the diagnosis in pelvic examination. Material and methods: Between October 1, 2016 and December 30, 2020, a total of 57 patients who underwent pelvic magnetic resonance imaging with vaginal contrast in the radiology clinic were included in the study and evaluated retrospectively. Results: Cervical cancer was detected in 38 of the 57 patients included in the study, and when the vaginal pre- and post-contrast staging of the patients was performed, the pre-contrast stage was found to be high in six patients (15%). Eight of 38 patients diagnosed with cervical cancer underwent surgery. When the pathological and radiological staging of the patients who underwent surgery were compared, they were 100% compatible. Conclusions: The use of vaginal contrast material increases the diagnostic value of MRI in various pelvic pathologies, especially in cervical cancer staging

Recent Advances in Health Biotechnology During Pandemic

The outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which emerged in 2019, cut the epoch that will make profound fluctuates in the history of the world in social, economic, and scientific fields. Urgent needs in public health have brought with them innovative approaches, including diagnosis, prevention, and treatment. To exceed the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, various scientific authorities in the world have procreated advances in real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) based diagnostic tests, rapid diagnostic kits, the development of vaccines for immunization, and the purposing pharmaceuticals for treatment. Diagnosis, treatment, and immunization approaches put for- ward by scientific communities are cross-fed from the accrued knowledge of multidisciplinary sciences in health biotechnology. So much so that the pandemic, urgently prioritized in the world, is not only viral infections but also has been the pulsion in the development of novel approaches in many fields such as diagnosis, treatment, translational medicine, virology, mi- crobiology, immunology, functional nano- and bio-materials, bioinformatics, molecular biol- ogy, genetics, tissue engineering, biomedical devices, and artificial intelligence technologies. In this review, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the development of various scientific areas of health biotechnology are discussed

Coexistence of Nickel Allergy and Palmoplantar Pustulosis

Nickel is a very common metal and is a common cause of allergic contact dermatitis. Although nickel allergy often causes allergic contact dermatitis at contact areas, oral exposure to nickel may cause various skin reactions and systemic disorders. Burden on Caregivers of Patients with Schizophrenia and Related Factors

Conclusion: This study highlighted the importance of setting targets for improving the functionality of patients in the design and implementation of rehabilitation and support programs for patients with schizophrenia. Additionally, providing higher income for patients, creating conditions for an independent life, and increasing incentives for younger caregivers with a higher educational level may help decrease caregiver burden
