Predicting customer's gender and age depending on mobile phone data
In the age of data driven solution, the customer demographic attributes, such
as gender and age, play a core role that may enable companies to enhance the
offers of their services and target the right customer in the right time and
place. In the marketing campaign, the companies want to target the real user of
the GSM (global system for mobile communications), not the line owner. Where
sometimes they may not be the same. This work proposes a method that predicts
users' gender and age based on their behavior, services and contract
information. We used call detail records (CDRs), customer relationship
management (CRM) and billing information as a data source to analyze telecom
customer behavior, and applied different types of machine learning algorithms
to provide marketing campaigns with more accurate information about customer
demographic attributes. This model is built using reliable data set of 18,000
users provided by SyriaTel Telecom Company, for training and testing. The model
applied by using big data technology and achieved 85.6% accuracy in terms of
user gender prediction and 65.5% of user age prediction. The main contribution
of this work is the improvement in the accuracy in terms of user gender
prediction and user age prediction based on mobile phone data and end-to-end
solution that approaches customer data from multiple aspects in the telecom
domain
A full-scale biological aerated filtration system application in the treatment of paints industry wastewater
This study was carried out to evaluate an existing treatment technology for wastewater treatment unit from a paint production factory. Biological aerated filter is a good technique for reducing land used in the purpose of wastewater treatment. Influent discharged from this factory ranged between 50–120 m3/day with an average of 70 m3/day. This unit composed of primary and secondary sedimentation tanks, gravel filter and finally sand anthracite (3:1 by volume) filter. Aeration units and two submersible pumps were equipped for aerobic treatment and sediments removal. The unit influent was characterized by average values of chemical oxygen demand (COD), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5) and total suspended solids (TSS) were 1711±795, 748±180 and 3821±1621 mg/l, respectively. Primary sedimentation of the wastewater for six hours reduced the COD, BOD, and TSS by 43, 26, and 76%, respectively. The treated wastewater characteristics are in compliance with the Egyptian law which regulates the discharge of industrial wastewater to the sewerage system. The results from each treatment process proved to be efficient for the treatment of such wastewater. Keywords: Paints wastewater treatment, Biological aerated filter and water qualit
Insights on Strategic Management Practices in Jordan: A Review of Literature
Strategic management and its practices have become the most important stream need to discuss and focus in business environment, due to its vital role in improving economic growth. Although many benefits and advantages can be obtained from using strategic management, but a lot of organizations still resist or employ it a little, since some of them think this method is only helpful for larger organizations and they didn’t believe its benefits also for small-medium sized enterprises (SME) as well. The purpose of this study is to review the studies which discuss the strategic management concept and its role and impact on the organization in Jordan. The paper adopted the descriptive cross sectional research design. The study found that majority of the organization try to adopt different strategies to achieve its organizational objectives which may include competitive advantage, market share, corporate reputation and total quality of the operation. The study concludes that strategic management has a significant correlation with many factors, for instance competitive advantage and great performance. It is recommended that the management should have a long-term strategic thought towards the using of strategic management tools and employ the right resources to obtain the desired success of a business depends basically on the value creation, and skill of its top management and the strategic formulation and implementation within the context of ambiguity of the business environment. The study methodology is based on a systematic review of empirical studies on the usage of strategic management models and methods. Keywords: Strategic management, Strategic planning, Jorda

Comparison of mistakes criteria using multiple linear regressions applied to cotton data
Cotton is the main crop not only among cellulosic crops but also among the various crops that are the raw materials which is used in the yarn and fabrics industries. The data of this crop were obtained from the central organization of Statistics in Iraq including yield, domestic consumption, production, total supply, export and import of this crop for the period (1960-2019).The mistakes criteria (MSE, MAPE, MSAE, SAZ1 and SAZ2) were compared using multiple linear regressions. The results showed high-quality ratios in terms of mistakes criteria (SAZ1 and SAZ2) as compared to other criteria
Exploring End-Users’ Engagement with Security Threats: A Survey-Based Investigation from Academic and Security Experts’ Perspective
Jerusalemite Passions in the Poetry of the Crusades (Victory)
The research studies Jerusalem and poets at the full sense of the word (passions): the meaning of love complaints, sadness, anger, and triumph, these are the religious, real, psychological, and emotional meanings that most poems tackled the situations/conditions that Jerusalem survived. However, the research focused only on the dimension of victory which is clearly shown in two topics: the setting on conquest plans, the process of victory and the image of the Victorians. The researcher approaches his topic in a critical analytical way based on historical events to reveal the inner feelings of poets and their emotions towards blessed Jerusalem, and to provoke and encourage rulers and governors to conquest it. They approached this gradually as every stage requires. Some looked like strategic experts who can figure out the central point of danger and its geographical dimensions to invest the appropriate opportunity to conquest new areas. But with the advent of great leaders provocation for conquest, turned to be a mechanism to defend Muslims and Islam across all countries. This, as a result, would enable Salah din Al Ayoubi to conquest Jerusalem. The poets then started singing and praising the conquerors and drawing a clear image in the heart of the crowd as well as in their minds, rich with love, and full appreciation and thanks to the Almighty for the great victory. This clearly appeared in the consciousness of poets who were fully aware of its religious and urban importance. This was clearly reflected in their poems in a monologue with oneself and the historical reality. But due to being a literary genre, it represents vision that was able to explain the self as well as the world around, which in turn created an interactive environment among poets, the feeling of the group, an its legal dreams in creating a better future
A novel PAPR reduction scheme based on selective mapping and a random-like coding with no explicit side information in OFDM
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a promising technique for high data rate and reliable communication over fading channels. The main implementation drawback of this system is the possibility of high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR). In this paper, we develop a novel Selective Mapping (SLM) PAPR reduction technique. In the novel proposed scheme, the alternative symbol sequences are generated by module 2 additions of data with the rows of cyclic Hadamard matrix with the same size, inserting the selected row's number to avoid transmitting any side information and specially using a random-like Irregular Repeat Accumulate (IRA) encoder for both PAPR and Bit Error Rate (BER) better performance. Converting cumulative grade point average to an equivalent percentage value based on a fuzzy logic
The graduates who have finished their study program will be given a merit award and their award certificates will be graded in accordance with the degree of their academic accomplishment. The awards are generally offered using two methods; one is by the cumulative grade point average (CGPA) and the other is by the average percentage of all marks for the students. The problem is when assigning a course final grade; each student's final percentage is translated to a letter, allowing the discrepancy within the same letter grade range in the final ranking. If two students have the same final score, that means equal results. However, this equality can be false if one student hits a percentage of the highest grade, while the second student earns a percentage of the lowest grade of the same letter grade. This paper introduced a new equation that transforms between the awarded cumulative grade point average and the awarded percentage ranking based on fuzzy system. The proposed approach was tested using three actual benchmarks collected from three different colleges in Beni-Suef university. The obtained results reflects the effect of the fuzzy logic in helping converting form CGPA measures to percentage measure in educational systems
