Educação Física Escolar: Percepções do Aluno com Deficiência1

    Get PDF

RIS-aided Massive MIMO: Achieving Large Multiplexing Gains with non-Large Arrays

This paper considers an antenna structure where a (non-large) array of radiating elements is placed at short distance in front of a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS). We propose a channel estimation procedure using different configurations of the RIS elements and derive a closed-form expression for an achievable downlink spectral efficiency by using the popular hardening lower-bound. Next, we formulate an optimization problem, with respect to the phase shifts of the RIS, aimed at minimizing the channels cross-correlations while preserving the channels individual norms. The numerical analysis shows that the proposed structure is capable of overcoming the performance of a conventional massive MIMO system without the RIS.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures, conference paper accepted for presentation in the 25th International ITG Workshop on Smart Antennas (WSA 2021

User-centric Handover in mmWave Cell-Free Massive MIMO with User Mobility

The coupling between cell-free massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems operating at millimeter-wave (mmWave) carrier frequencies and user mobility is considered in this paper. First of all, a mmWave channel is introduced taking into account the user mobility and the impact of the channel aging. Then, three beamforming techniques are proposed in the considered scenario, along with a dynamic user association technique (handover): starting from a user-centric association between each mobile device and a cluster of access points (APs), a rule for updating the APs cluster is formulated and analyzed. Numerical results reveal that the proposed beamforming and user association techniques are effective in the considered scenario.Comment: Paper accepted for publication in the proceedings of the 2021 European Signal Processing COnference (EUSIPCO), 23-27 August 2021, Dublin, Irelan

Detection of Lurkers in Online Social Networks

    No full text
In this work, we propose a novel data model that integrates and combines information on users belonging to one or more heterogeneous Online Social Networks (OSNs), together with the content that is generated, shared and used within the related environments, using an hypergraph-based approach. Then, we discuss how the most diffused centrality measures – that have been defined over the introduced model – can be efficiently applied for a number of data privacy issues, such as lurkers detection, especially in “interest-based” social networks. Some preliminary experiments using the Yelp dataset are finally presented

Reliability and validity assessment of administrative databases in measuring the quality of rectal cancer management

Purpose: Measurement and monitoring of the quality of care using a core set of quality measures are increasing in health service research. Although administrative databases include limited clinical data, they offer an attractive source for quality measurement. The purpose of this study, therefore, was to evaluate the completeness of different administrative data sources compared to a clinical survey in evaluating rectal cancer cases. Methods: Between May 2012 and November 2014, a clinical survey was done on 498 Lombardy patients who had rectal cancer and underwent surgical resection. These collected data were compared with the information extracted from administrative sources including Hospital Discharge Dataset, drug database, daycare activity data, fee-exemption database, and regional screening program database. The agreement evaluation was performed using a set of 12 quality indicators. Results: Patient complexity was a difficult indicator to measure for lack of clinical data. Preoperative staging was another suboptimal indicator due to the frequent missing administrative registration of tests performed. The agreement between the 2 data sources regarding chemoradiotherapy treatments was high. Screening detection, minimally invasive techniques, length of stay, and unpreventable readmissions were detected as reliable quality indicators. Postoperative morbidity could be a useful indicator but its agreement was lower, as expected. Conclusions: Healthcare administrative databases are large and real-time collected repositories of data useful in measuring quality in a healthcare system. Our investigation reveals that the reliability of indicators varies between them. Ideally, a combination of data from both sources could be used in order to improve usefulness of less reliable indicators
