Kinetic Solvers with Adaptive Mesh in Phase Space

An Adaptive Mesh in Phase Space (AMPS) methodology has been developed for solving multi-dimensional kinetic equations by the discrete velocity method. A Cartesian mesh for both configuration (r) and velocity (v) spaces is produced using a tree of trees data structure. The mesh in r-space is automatically generated around embedded boundaries and dynamically adapted to local solution properties. The mesh in v-space is created on-the-fly for each cell in r-space. Mappings between neighboring v-space trees implemented for the advection operator in configuration space. We have developed new algorithms for solving the full Boltzmann and linear Boltzmann equations with AMPS. Several recent innovations were used to calculate the discrete Boltzmann collision integral with dynamically adaptive mesh in velocity space: importance sampling, multi-point projection method, and the variance reduction method. We have developed an efficient algorithm for calculating the linear Boltzmann collision integral for elastic and inelastic collisions in a Lorentz gas. New AMPS technique has been demonstrated for simulations of hypersonic rarefied gas flows, ion and electron kinetics in weakly ionized plasma, radiation and light particle transport through thin films, and electron streaming in semiconductors. We have shown that AMPS allows minimizing the number of cells in phase space to reduce computational cost and memory usage for solving challenging kinetic problems

Investigation of Using Natural Aromatizers of Lemon Essential Oil in Ayurvedic Culinary

    Get PDF
There was considered a possibility of using natural aromatizers in ayurvedic culinary, namely fractions that act as a product of lemon essential oil. There was presented the component ratio and characteristic of a fragrance of a terpene fraction and terpenoid one, obtained by the gas-chromatographic analysis on a nozzle column with a stable dynonyl phthalate fraction by the standard method.A classic salad sauce “Vinaigrette” was chosen as a research subject. The introduction of natural aromatizers was conducted at the final stage of mixing olive oil and other ingredients of the dish. The optimal amount of aromatizers was determined empirically by sensor analysis results. During the studies, it has been established, that a fraction of lemon essential oil No. 1 must be introduced in amount 0,1 g for 1000 g of the ready product, a fraction of lemon essential oil No. 2 – 0,125 g for 1000 g of the ready product. As far as terpenes and terpenoids of lemon essential oil are natural substances of the initial raw material, stimulating food juices extraction, it allows to state about the activation of so-called “digestive fire” at using the aromatized sauce

Evaluation of water reservoir ecological state using rbcL protein of phytoplanktons

© 2016, International Journal of Pharmacy and Technology. All rights reserved. As is known phytoplankton [1], as well as zooplankton and zoobenthos [2,3] are actively used in bioindication to assess the ecological status of water bodies. The analysis of 85 rbcL proteins from indicator phytoplankton organisms presented in Sladechek V. (1973) list showed the presence of 45 unique sites of amino acid sequences in the chloroplast gene rbcL for 21 species of phytoplankton organisms. Unique variable sites are located on the surface of rbcL protein in phytoplankton organisms and can be recognized specifically by antibodies in a single sample of water using EIA method. The studies on the use of rbcL protein as a marker for the identification of phytoplankton in conjunction with the identification by marker protein CO1 from zooplankton and zoobenthos in water sample provide a more accurate assessment of water body ecological status

The research is executed for restoration of climatic and ecological conditions of the past in the territory of the Kola Peninsula. The lake Antyukh-Lambina was once a part of the large lake Kolvitskoye and consequently, its ground "archives" contain information on its development, change of natural situations on a reservoir, change of climatic conditions of the region in general. The analysis the subfossil cladoceria of communities of ground deposits of the Kola Peninsula was not carried out and is of special interest itself in connection with the accruing anthropogenous loading in the region. In work results of the paleobiologic analysis of communities Cladocera in ground deposits of the lake Antyukh-Lambina are presented. It is established that in a reservoir palaearctic and holarctic taxons prevail, cosmopolitan distribution is peculiar to only 15% of the revealed taxons. Comparison of results with data of the hironomidny analysis is carried out. Information on researches of planktonic communities of lakes of the Kola Peninsula and its comparison with the data received during the analysis of the remains of Cladocera in ground deposits of the lake Antyukh- Lambina is provided. In work the indexes defining degree of specific wealth, variety and domination of communities the Crustacea are used, statistical and stratigraphic analyses are made. Results of the lithostratigraphic analysis are presented

Purpose: Attention to the problems of social and economic development of rural areas by Government authorities, economists and the scientific community was mainly theoretical or sometimes targeted practical in nature. Design/Methodology/Approach: At the same time, rural poverty and high unemployment rate, worsening demographic situation, reducing network of institutions of social infrastructure in rural areas, which together have a negative impact on the reproduction of labor resources, lower production volumes and high migration rates have always been the problems of rural development in the country. Findings: Overall, sustainable development of rural areas characterizes, on the one hand, external major natural resource constraints that form a distant prospect, and on the other hand, determine the possibilities of social and economic development of rural communities, economic entities, diversification of the territory's economy, the formation of new activities and environmental engineering. This is a very wide range of problems, which are currently considered from different perspectives in Russia and in several countries of the world. Practical implications: The article discusses the problems of economic development of rural areas as the main factor in ensuring the sustainable development of rural areas of the agrarian regions of Russia. Originality/Value: The authors define the core resources for development of the rural areas in the region, provide an overview of agribusiness and tourism industry clusters, reveling their points of growth, cluster sales channels, tourism and recreation development.peer-reviewe

Organizational and economic transformations towards the greening of agro-industrial production

The increase in the production of agricultural products and food supplies in excess of regulatory needs and the provision of food safety in Russia led to the expansion of the export of agricultural products and the change in the course of the development of the agro-industrial complex from import substitution to export-oriented production. However, the entry to world food markets requires high quality of products from manufacturers and its certification in accordance with world standards. The article presents the organizational and economic transformations towards the greening of agro-industrial production, namely, the use of the resource potential, the involvement of Russian manufacturers in the production of environmentally friendly products and the development of organic agriculture; the mechanisms for solving the set problems are substantiated.peer-reviewe
