Improving Vegetative Growth of Sweet Corn Through Filter Cake and Potassium Application
Corn is a widely consumed cereal crop. To improve plant growth and yield, repairing the cultivation technique and environmental modification can be done through organic or inorganic fertilizer addition. The aim of this research was to identify an interaction between potassium and filter cake to corn vegetative growth. This research used Factorial Randomized Block Design with two factors. The first factor was the filter cake dose (0, 10, and 20 tone ha-1and second factor is potassium dose (100, 150, and 200 kg ha-1). There were nine treatments, and they were repeated three times. The variables analyzed were vegetative growth such plant height, number of leaves, length, and volume root. The result showed that a combination of filter cake (20 tone ha-1) and potassium (150 kg ha-1) had the highest plant height at 42 DAP. Potassium independently affected the number of leaves at 24 and 48 DAP. Length of root was independently effected by filter cake application.

Chiral drag force
We provide a holographic evaluation of novel contributions to the drag force
acting on a heavy quark moving through strongly interacting plasma. The new
contributions are chiral in that they act in opposite directions in plasmas
containing an excess of left- or right-handed quarks and in that they are
proportional to the coefficient of the axial anomaly. These new contributions
to the drag force act either parallel to or antiparallel to an external
magnetic field or to the vorticity of the fluid plasma. In all these respects,
these contributions to the drag force felt by a heavy quark are analogous to
the chiral magnetic effect on light quarks. However, the new contribution to
the drag force is independent of the electric charge of the heavy quark and is
the same for heavy quarks and antiquarks. We show that although the chiral drag
force can be non-vanishing for heavy quarks that are at rest in the local fluid
rest frame, it does vanish for heavy quarks that are at rest in a suitably
chosen frame. In this frame, the heavy quark at rest sees counterpropagating
momentum and charge currents, both proportional to the axial anomaly
coefficient, but feels no drag force. This provides strong concrete evidence
for the absence of dissipation in chiral transport, something that has been
predicted previously via consideration of symmetries. Along the way to our
principal results, we provide a general calculation of the corrections to the
drag force due to the presence of gradients in the flowing fluid in the
presence of a nonzero chemical potential. We close with a consequence of our
result that is at least in principle observable in heavy ion collisions, namely
an anticorrelation between the direction of the CME current for light quarks in
a given event and the direction of the kick given to the momentum of all the

Thermodynamics and Instabilities of a Strongly Coupled Anisotropic Plasma
We extend our analysis of a IIB supergravity solution dual to a spatially
anisotropic finite-temperature N=4 super Yang-Mills plasma. The solution is
static, possesses an anisotropic horizon, and is completely regular. The full
geometry can be viewed as a renormalization group flow from an AdS geometry in
the ultraviolet to a Lifshitz-like geometry in the infrared. The anisotropy can
be equivalently understood as resulting from a position-dependent theta-term or
from a non-zero number density of dissolved D7-branes. The holographic stress
tensor is conserved and anisotropic. The presence of a conformal anomaly plays
an important role in the thermodynamics. The phase diagram exhibits homogeneous
and inhomogeneous (i.e. mixed) phases. In some regions the homogeneous phase
displays instabilities reminiscent of those of weakly coupled plasmas. We
comment on similarities with QCD at finite baryon density and with the

Determinant Factors of Dividend Payments in Brazil
This study identifies factors that shaped cash disbursement distribution policies employed by Brazilian public companies listed on the Brazilian Securities, Commodities and Futures Exchange (BM&FBOVESPA) from 1995 to 2011. Relationships between Dividends/Total Assets and potential determinants discussed in the literature, including firm size, corporate governance, profitability, leverage, market to book, liquidity, investment, risk, profit growth, information asymmetry and agency conflict, are examined. The following econometric methods are employed: (1) Tobit, given the nature of the dividend data, and (2) the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) to control for endogenous regressors. Significant positive variables found include size, return on assets (ROA), market to book, liquidity and profit growth. It can thus be inferred that larger firm size, profitability, market value, liquidity and profit growth correlate with greater firm pro pensity to distribute money to shareholders, thus supporting the theory of corporate finance. Significant negative variables found include leverage, liquidity squared, capex, beta and tag along 100%. It is thus inferred that more significantly leveraged companies that invest more heavily in fixed assets and that exhibit high liquidity, higher risk and less conflict between controlling and minority shareholders will be less likely to pay dividends to shareholders.</p
Holographic Lessons for Quark Dynamics
We give a brief overview of recent results obtained through the gauge/gravity
correspondence, concerning the propagation of a heavy quark in strongly-coupled
conformal field theories (such as N=4 super-Yang-Mills), both at zero and
finite temperature. In the vacuum, we discuss energy loss, radiation damping,
signal propagation and radiation-induced fluctuations. In the presence of a
thermal plasma, our emphasis is on early-time energy loss, screening and
quark-antiquark evolution after pair creation. Throughout, quark dynamics is

The method used in this activity through education and training with theaim at improving farmers’ knowledge in the processing agricultural waste and waste wood craft a quality organicfertilizer to use local microorganisms. Training wass going well and in the family atmosphere. Material extensionand how to manufacture quality organic fertilizer were easily understood by farmers. All farmers can make theirown organic fertilizer from organic waste. Preparation of local microorganisms as decomposers bioactivator was easyto handle. Knowledge of farmers on organic waste still needs to be improved to prevent environmental pollution
Anti-inflammatory Activity of Andong Leaf Extract (Cordyline Terminalis Kunth) Against Edema in the Soles of Wistar Rats
The Balinese plant andong (Cordyline terminalis Kunth) has anti-inflammatory properties. The focus of this research was to determine whether andong leaf extract has anti-inflammatory properties and is effective against carrageenan-induced edema in rat soles. In this study, carrageenan was used to induce inflammation in the soles of Wistar rats. 25 rats were divided into five treatment groups. Group I was given aquadest as the control; group II was given diclofenac sodium at a dose of 4.5 mg/kgbw as a drug control; and groups III, IV and V were given ethanol extract of andong leaves at doses of 150 mg/kgbw, 300 mg/kgbw, and 600 mg/kgbw orally as test groups. For six hours, the inflammation volume was measured using a plethymometer. One-way ANOVA was used to test differences between the treatment groups. The results showed that the ethanol extract of andong leaves had the highest anti-inflammatory activity in the six-hour period when given at doses of 150 mg/kgbw (36.35% 0.02), 300 mg/kgbw (26.30% 0.20), and 600 mg/kgbw (20.67% 0.16) with a significant difference (p < 0.05) compared to the negative control (86.84% 0.092), but this was not significantly different from the positive control (22.21% 0.01). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that a dose of 600 mg/kgbw is the most effective in reducing inflammation.
