    A research to study the determine and assess the effect of combination commercial starter at level and time period various for corn cob the main dry matter and organic matter digestibility and total protein. Research was arranged in completely randomized design in factorial pattern 3x5 and three replications. First factor was the level of commercial starter (0, 1 and 2%) and second factor was the period of fermentation 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 week). The data were variance analized using ANOVA and Duncan multiple range test (DMRT). The results showed that combined treatment difference in level of starter and long time peroid not increased the dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility, and total protein of corn cobs

    Studi ini mengajukan sebuah metode untuk mendiagnosa kerusakan pada struktur dengan menggunakan time domain dari hasil respon getaran. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan simulasi plat laminat berbentuk persegi dengan variasi letak delaminasi. Simulasi ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk membantu mengidentifikasi, menganalisa dan memprediksi kerusakan pada komposit laminat yang meliputi jenis kerusakan, ukuran, lokasi dan orientasi delaminasi sehingga dapat digunakan untuk mencegah kegagalan. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan analisis frekuensi alami dan mode shape plat laminat. Simulasi finite element menggunakan software ABAQUS/CAE 6.11. Metode yang di gunakan yaitu dengan mensimulasikan plat laminat dengan geometri 150 mm x 150 mm x 6 mm. Delaminasi berupa rongga 50mm dengan lebar 20 mm sepanjang lebarnya dengan boundary condition fix-free. Dari hasil simulasi diperoleh bahwa delaminasi menurunkan nilai natural frequency dan dari mode shape dapat diketahui bahwa posisi delaminasi juga dapat menurunkan kekakuan dari plat laminat

    The Behavior of Slab-Column Joints of Reactive Powder Concrete Under Cyclic Load

    Experimental work on four specimens of reinforced concrete slab- column connection sub-assemblages using reactive powder concrete (RPC) was conducted. The specimens were subjected to a combination of gravity and cyclic loading. The gravity loading was represented by a number of concrete cubes hung on the slab bottom surface and the cyclic lateral loading was applied on the upper end of the columns. The specimens consisted of two variables, i.e tensile flexural reinforcement ratio (0.65% and 1.8%) and slab span (2.0 m and 3.0 m). Shear reinforcement was not used in the slab. The displacement history consisted of three repeated cycles, starting from 0.07 to 5.00 percent drift ratio, covering the elastic and the inelastic response of the specimens. The RPC mixture proportion for the specimen's material was developed using local materials and normal concrete technology methods. The average RPC compression tests results were 136.0 MPa at 28 days and 141.0 MPa at the time of the first specimen, tested at 56 days. The tests results showed that up to 5.0 percent drift all specimens had stable hysteresis loops without any significant degradation of strength and stiffness. The specimen with a larger tensile flexural reinforcement ratio developed more strength, stiffness and energy dissipation

    . This paper discusses the hysteretic behavior of Hollow Rectangular Section Piers (HRSP) by applying Ultra High Strength Concrete (UHSC) material. The experimental program conducted in two models of HRSP-UHSC specimens were loaded by combination of a constant axial compression force and quasi static lateral cyclic loads through actuators on the loading frame. The lateral loads were based on displacement controls in ACI 374.1-05 (2005). The constant axial compression forces were applied into the HRSP-70 and HRSP-60 of 0.075fc'Ag and 0.15fc'Ag, respectively. The experimental results indicate that the increasing of the axial compression force ratio enhances the shear strength significantly, but then it experiences higher strength degradations with lower attainment of drift ratio and displacement ductility factor. The HRSP-70 achieved a displacement ductility factor of 5.35 at drift ratio of 5.80%, while HRSP-60 achieved a displacement ductility factor of 4.58 at drift ratio of 3.50%. This trend resulted that HRSP-70 was able to accommodate the stiffness degradation of the first yield state to the ultimate conditions up to 82.99%, while the HRSP-60 was only about 77.86%. Similarly, the energy dissipation of HRSP-60 decreased by 39.46% after the constant axial compression force had been increased 50% from previous specimen

    Safety of Annona Muricata Extract Supplementation for Colorectal Cancer Patients

    Background: People have used Annona muricata leaves traditionally as tea drinks. Traditional use of A. muricata leaves is as an infusion which is closed to water extract. The potential health benefit of A. muricata tea leaves that is traditionally used for maintaining health which lately is being used by cancer patients. Therefore it is urgent to verify the safety of A. muricata leaves extract. Method: A randomized double blind placebo controlled trial was conducted on 30 colorectal cancer out patients who had undergone primary tumor resection. Twenty eight subjects completed the study, divided into two groups, namely ethanol-soluble fraction of A. muricata leaves water extract (ESFAM) (n = 14), and placebo (n = 14) for 8 weeks. Peripheral blood samples were withdrawn from subjects by venipuncture at baseline and at the end of the study period.Results: The effect on bone marrow can be considered to be safe. The measure in indices of organs function, i.e liver and kidney also showed similar results and within normal range after supplementation. The dose given to the subjects is safe and highly tolerable, as shown by very few (6.7%) of patients complained intolerable adverse effects. Conclusion: This study indicates the safety of ESFAM supplementation

    The Expression of miR-141 and mRNA PTEN with Cisplatin Therapy on NPC

    The incidence of NPC in Yogyakarta province is 6.2/100 000 population and the tendency is increasing in the younger population. It has been known that drugs resistance also issues in NPC therapy. Cisplatin is drugs of choice that used in NPC therapy, besides miR-141 and mRNA PTEN are also had a role in chemotherapyresistance in some of cancer. We conducted the examination of the expression of miR-141 from blood plasma pre and post-therapy patient and blood plasma in healthy control. The sample collected from whole blood and then plasma separation. RNA extracted using RNA Isolation Kit miRCURY-Biofluid, synthesis cDNA with cDNASynthesis kit. mRNA analysis with KAPA SYBR® FAST One-Step qRT-PCR Kit then detected by qRT-PCR. Data analysis with comparative analysis and statistical analysis. MiR-141 showed upregulation by 1.49 (p-value: 0.075) and mRNA PTEN showed downregulation by 0.65 (p-value: 0.323) in patients NPC compared to healthy control and there is a relationship between miR-141 and mRNA PTEN (p-value:0.001). The expression levels of miR-141 in patients pre- and post-therapy experience down-regulated (fold change:0.61, two-tailed t-test: 0.09) and mRNA expression levels of PTEN experience down-regulated (fold change:0.5, t-test two-tailed:0.09). The level expression of mRNA PTEN is still down-regulated through the expression of miR-141 is up-regulated indicated that the possibility of drugs resistance in therapy with cisplatin. Then, miR-141 is one of the important factors in cisplatin drugs resistance with inhibition of mRNA PTEN. Keywords: miR-141, mRNA PTEN, Cisplatin, Drugs resistance, NPC
