The Polyakov Loop of Anti-symmetric Representations as a Quantum Impurity Model
The Polyakov loop of an operator in the anti-symmetric representation in N=4
SYM theory on spacial R^3 is calculated, to leading order in 1/N and at large
't Hooft coupling, by solving the saddle point equations of the corresponding
quantum impurity model. Agreement is found with previous results from the
supergravity dual, which is given by a D5-brane in an asymptotically AdS_5 x
S^5 black brane background. It is shown that the azimuth angle, at which the
dual D5-brane wraps the S^5, is related to the spectral asymmetry angle in the
spectral density associated with the Green's function of the impurity fermions.
Much of the calculation also applies to the Polyakov loop on spacial S^3 or
H^3.Comment: 20 pages, 2 figures, v2: references added and small changes in text,

Spinor Parallel Propagator and Green's Function in Maximally Symmetric Spaces
We introduce the spinor parallel propagator for maximally symmetric spaces in
any dimension. Then, the Dirac spinor Green's functions in the maximally
symmetric spaces R^n, S^n and H^n are calculated in terms of intrinsic
geometric objects. The results are covariant and coordinate-independent.Comment: 7 page
Spectral Functions in Holographic Renormalization Group Flows
The spectrum of two-point functions in a holographic renormalization group
flow from an ultraviolet (UV) to an infrared (IR) conformal fixed point is
necessarily continuous. For a toy model, the spectral function does not only
show the expected UV and IR behaviours, but other interesting features such as
sharp peaks and oscillations in the UV. The spectral functions for the
SU(3)xU(1) flow in AdS_4/CFT_3 and the SU(2)xU(1) flow in AdS_5/CFT_4 are
calculated numerically. They exhibit a simple cross-over behaviour and
reproduce the conformal dimensions of the dual operators in the UV and IR
conformal phases.Comment: 20 pages, 6 figures v2: added referene
Conformal Field Theory Correlators from Classical Scalar Field Theory on
We use the correspondence between scalar field theory on and a
conformal field theory on to calculate the 3- and 4-point functions of
the latter. The classical scalar field theory action is evaluated at tree
level.Comment: 9 pages, LaTeX2e with amsmath, amsfonts packages, section 2

Some solutions of linearized 5-d gravity with brane
We consider linearized 5-d gravity in the Randall-Sundrum brane world. The
class of static solutions for linearized Einstein equations is found. Also we
obtaine wave solutions describing radiation from an imaginary point source
located at the Planck distance from the brane. We analyze the fields asymptotic
behavior and peculiarities of matter sources.Comment: Latex, 8 page
The Renormalization Effects in the Microstrip-SQUID Amplifier
The peculiarities of the microstrip-DC SQUID amplifier caused by the resonant
structure of the input circuit are analyzed. It is shown that the mutual
inductance, that couples the input circuit and the SQUID loop, depends on the
frequency of electromagnetic field. The renormalization of the SQUID parameters
due to the screening effect of the input circuit vanishes when the Josephson
frequency is much greater than the signal frequency.Comment: 11 pages, 2 figure
Fermions on adS
We construct the Feynman propagator for Dirac fermions on anti-de Sitter space-time and present an analytic expression for the bi-spinor of parallel transport. We then renormalise the vacuum expectation value of the stress-energy tensor and end by analysing its renormalised expectation value at finite temperatures
Modeling and Simulation of a Microstrip-SQUID Amplifier
Using a simple lumped-circuit model, we numerically study the dependence of
the voltage gain and noise on the amplifier's parameters. Linear, quasi-linear,
and nonlinear regimes are studied. We have shown that the voltage gain of the
amplifier cannot exceed a characteristic critical value, which decreases with
the increase of the input power. We have also shown that the spectrum of the
voltage gain depends significantly on the level of the Johnson noise generated
by the SQUID resistors.Comment: 13 page
