Siak river is one of the major rivers that gain national attention and was also included in the category of national strategic river, because the river has a function and a very large role in the development of the region and the economy both locally, regionally and nationally. The research objective is to monitor performance subzone Siak Hulu Part In Siak River Basin Management uses two criteria, namely the use of land and water management. Land use criteria determined by indicator closure by vegetation, suitability of land use, and the index of erosion, while water management criteria determined by indicator of river water discharge. DAS performance results Siak Hulu Section obtained a weighted sum of 26%, a total score of 12, the total value of the indicator 58 and the category is rather good. DAS performance results Siak Hulu section obtained with a value of 2.23, the value category classification DAS performance Siak Hulu section has a subzone category are "Rather Good". Performance Part subzone Siak Hulu quite a bit better illustrates that than the four indicators used in the assessment of the performance of subzone Siak Hulu section is one of the better parameters

Objective: To analyze the ocular findings in adult patients with ankylosing spondylitis.Patients and methods: A cross sectional study was conducted on (200) ankylosing spondylitis (AS) patients diagnosed according to the modified New York criteria for ankylosing spondylitis. Demographic and clinical data were collected and all patients were examined by same ophthalmologist for ocular findings. Results: The mean age of patients was (35.2 ± 8.6) years with male to female ratio (13.3:1), and mean disease duration was (10.9 ± 6.7) years. Family history of AS was positive in (26%) of patients. HLA-B27 was obtained in (69.5%) of the total number of the patients. Among those patients in whom HLA-B27 test was obtained, (43.2%) had positive HLA-B27. Enthesitis was found in (48%) of patients, and (63.5%) had peripheral arthritis. Ocular manifestations were found in (21.5%) of the patients in the form of anterior uveitis (14.5%), conjunctivitis (3%), ocular dryness (2%), and cataract (2%). Ocular manifestations had significant association with enthesitis, peripheral arthritis, HLA-B27 positivity and positive family history of AS (p<0.05), but not with age, sex, disease duration and disease activity (p > 0.05).Conclusions: Prevalence of ocular manifestations in adult Iraqi patients with AS was (21.5%). The commonest form was anterior uveitis. Other forms included conjunctivitis, ocular dryness, and cataract. Ocular manifestations had significant association only with enthesitis, peripheral arthritis, HLA-B27 positivity and positive family history of AS. This may suggest that early screening for ocular features in AS is important for early diagnosis and treatment. Background: The EMPA KIDNEY trial showed that empagliflozin reduced the risk of the primary composite outcome of kidney disease progression or cardiovascular death in patients with chronic kidney disease mainly through slowing progression. We aimed to assess how effects of empagliflozin might differ by primary kidney disease across its broad population. Methods: EMPA-KIDNEY, a randomised, controlled, phase 3 trial, was conducted at 241 centres in eight countries (Canada, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, the UK, and the USA). Patients were eligible if their estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) was 20 to less than 45 mL/min per 1·73 m2, or 45 to less than 90 mL/min per 1·73 m2 with a urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (uACR) of 200 mg/g or higher at screening. They were randomly assigned (1:1) to 10 mg oral empagliflozin once daily or matching placebo. Effects on kidney disease progression (defined as a sustained ≥40% eGFR decline from randomisation, end-stage kidney disease, a sustained eGFR below 10 mL/min per 1·73 m2, or death from kidney failure) were assessed using prespecified Cox models, and eGFR slope analyses used shared parameter models. Subgroup comparisons were performed by including relevant interaction terms in models. EMPA-KIDNEY is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT03594110. Findings: Between May 15, 2019, and April 16, 2021, 6609 participants were randomly assigned and followed up for a median of 2·0 years (IQR 1·5–2·4). Prespecified subgroupings by primary kidney disease included 2057 (31·1%) participants with diabetic kidney disease, 1669 (25·3%) with glomerular disease, 1445 (21·9%) with hypertensive or renovascular disease, and 1438 (21·8%) with other or unknown causes. Kidney disease progression occurred in 384 (11·6%) of 3304 patients in the empagliflozin group and 504 (15·2%) of 3305 patients in the placebo group (hazard ratio 0·71 [95% CI 0·62–0·81]), with no evidence that the relative effect size varied significantly by primary kidney disease (pheterogeneity=0·62). The between-group difference in chronic eGFR slopes (ie, from 2 months to final follow-up) was 1·37 mL/min per 1·73 m2 per year (95% CI 1·16–1·59), representing a 50% (42–58) reduction in the rate of chronic eGFR decline. This relative effect of empagliflozin on chronic eGFR slope was similar in analyses by different primary kidney diseases, including in explorations by type of glomerular disease and diabetes (p values for heterogeneity all >0·1). Interpretation: In a broad range of patients with chronic kidney disease at risk of progression, including a wide range of non-diabetic causes of chronic kidney disease, empagliflozin reduced risk of kidney disease progression. Relative effect sizes were broadly similar irrespective of the cause of primary kidney disease, suggesting that SGLT2 inhibitors should be part of a standard of care to minimise risk of kidney failure in chronic kidney disease. The impact of social media on consumers' acculturation and purchase intentions

    Get PDF
YesSocial media has emerged as a significant and effective means of assisting and endorsing activities and communications among peers, consumers and organizations that outdo the restrictions of time and space. While the previous studies acknowledge the role of agents of culture change, it largely remains silent on the role of social media in influencing acculturation outcomes and consumption choices. This study uses self-administered questionnaire to collect data from 514 Turkish-Dutch respondents and examines how their use of social media affects their acculturation and consumption choices. This research makes a significant contribution to consumer acculturation research by showing that social media is a vital means of culture change and a driver of acculturation strategies and consumption choices. This study is the first to investigate the role of social media as an agent of culture change in terms of how it impacts acculturation and consumption. The paper discusses implications for theory development and for practice

Stabilization of organic matter in the raised-bed soils of tidal swamplands is influenced by the types and the amounts of organic matter application

Farmers in tidal swamplands annually added organic matter (OM) onto the raised beds to maintain organic matter contents and thereby maintain soil productivity of the raised beds. This experiment aimed to study the influence of the types and the amounts of OM on the stabilization of organic matter in the raised-bed soils. Four types of OM: rice straw, eceng gondok (Eichornia crassipes), purun tikus  (Eleocharis dulcis) and mixed  rice straw-eceng gondok were added to a 27-year raised bed soil with 4 different rates: 0, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0  of maximum sorption capacity (Qmax), and the OM stabilization was quantified after 10 weeks of OM addition.  Results of this study showed with the exception of rice straw, OM addition to soil resulted in increases in the mineralization of soil OM thereby inducing priming effect. Addition of rice straw at rate of 0.5 of Qmax resulted in stabilization of 46% added OM, while only 30% and 37% of added OM was stabilized when OM was added to soils at rates of 1.0 and 2.0 Qmax, respectively.  This study showed that the stabilization of OM in raised bed soils were influenced by the chemical composition of OM and the amount of added OM
