Radiative corrections in Dalitz decays of , and mesons
We briefly summarize current experimental and theoretical results on the two
important processes of the low-energy hadron physics involving neutral pions,
the rare decay and the Dalitz decay of , and provide a
new value for the ratio ,
which is by two orders of magnitude more precise than the current PDG average.
This value is obtained using the complete set of the next-to-leading-order
radiative corrections in the QED sector, and incorporates up-to-date values of
the -transition-form-factor slope. The ratio translates into the
branching ratios of the two main decay modes:
and . Furthermore, we present the complete set
of radiative corrections to the Dalitz decays
beyond the soft-photon approximation,
i.e. over the whole range of the Dalitz plot and with no restrictions on the
energy of a radiative photon. The corrections inevitably depend on the
transition form factors. For the
singly-virtual transition form factor appearing e.g. in the bremsstrahlung
correction, recent dispersive calculations are used. For the
one-photon-irreducible contribution at the one-loop level (for the
doubly-virtual form factor), we use a vector-meson-dominance-inspired model
while taking into account the - mixing.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures; contribution to the proceedings of the following

Radiative modes and the decay
We discuss radiative transitions of a charged kaon to a pion and two photons.
In particular, we have a closer look at radiative corrections for the
decays and present the branching ratio of the
process calculated for the first time at leading
order in the Standard Model.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, 1 table; contribution to the proceedings of

Search for an Axion in OSQAR Experiment at CERN
In the present work, OSQAR experiment at CERN is being introduced. The goal of this rather small experiment is a search for a hypothetical particle called axion, which could play an important role in modern physical theories. It is necessary to say, that the experimental setup as well as particular devices are still being developed or calibrated and measurement modes optimized. That is why desired functionality and reliability of the presently used equipment with a variety of different operating procedures are discussed. Preliminary results, simulations and estimation of sensitivity limitations of the current setup are also presented.Katedra fyziky nízkých teplotDepartment of Low Temperature PhysicsMatematicko-fyzikální fakultaFaculty of Mathematics and Physic
Některé aspekty QCD při nízkých energiích v éře přesných měření
Název práce: Některé aspekty QCD při nízkých energiích v éře přesných měření Autor: Tomáš Husek Katedra/Ústav: Ústav částicové a jaderné fyziky Vedoucí disertační práce: doc. RNDr. Karol Kampf, Ph.D. RNDr. Karol Kampf, Ph.D. Abstract: This thesis concentrates on some low-energy aspects of QCD, namely on those which are connected to the electromagnetic decays of lightest neutral pseudoscalar mesons. Calculations of radiative corrections to neutral pion decays (the Dalitz decay and the rare decay) and a novel model for the pion electro- magnetic transition form factor are subjects discussed in the attached papers, which this work is based on. The associated theoretical aspects including Chiral Perturbation Theory or the large-Nc limit are introduced. We also discuss the complications which arise when the calculations of radiative corrections for η(′) Dalitz decays are performed. Some details about the collaboration with experi- ments which incorporate the calculation of the published corrections are provided. Last but not least, some techniques related to loop integrals are shown. Precise determination of the branching ratio of the neutral-pion Dalitz decay
We provide a new value for the ratio R=Γ(π0→e+e−γ(γ))/Γ(π0→γγ)=11.978(6)×10^−3, which is by 2 orders of magnitude more precise than the current Particle Data Group average. It is obtained using the complete set of the next-to-leading-order radiative corrections in the QED sector, and incorporates up-to-date values of the π0-transition-form-factor slope. The ratio R translates into the branching ratios of the two main π0 decay modes: B(π0→γγ)=98.8131(6)% and B(π0→e+e−γ(γ))=1.1836(6)%
The isospin-3 three-particle -matrix at NLO in ChPT
The three-particle -matrix, , is a
scheme-dependent quantity that parametrizes short-range three-particle
interactions in the relativistic-field-theory three-particle finite-volume
formalism. In this work, we compute its value for systems of three pions at
maximal isospin through next-to-leading order (NLO) in Chiral Perturbation
Theory (ChPT). We compare the values to existing lattice QCD results and find
that the agreement between lattice QCD data and ChPT in the first two
coefficients of the threshold expansion of is
significantly improved with respect to leading order once NLO effects are
incorporated.Comment: 54 pages, 12 figures, 2 table
The three-pion K -matrix at NLO in ChPT
The three-particle K-matrix, Kdf, 3, is a scheme-dependent quantity that parametrizes short-range three-particle interactions in the relativistic-field-theory three-particle finite-volume formalism. In this work, we compute its value for systems of three pions in all isospin channels through next-to-leading order in Chiral Perturbation Theory, generalizing previous work done at maximum isospin. We obtain analytic expressions through quadratic order (or cubic order, in the case of zero isospin) in the expansion about the three-pion threshold
