Surface Phonon Polariton Modes in Suspended Monolayer Hexagonal Boron Nitrides

    Get PDF
Dispersion properties and characteristics of transverse magnetic (TM) and transverse electric (TE) surface phonon polaritons (SPhP) in suspended monolayer hexagonal boron nitrides (hBN) was studied extensively. The analytical results show that the hBN based TM (TE) phonon polaritons exist in restsrahlen bands when imaginary surface conductivity is positive. The effective mode index of TM phonon polaritons is much higher than that of TE phonon polaritons with respective values of ~3000 and ~1.0002 which makes TM SPhP more promising in the practical realization. In addition, the propagation length of TE SPhP is less lossy and surpass that of TM SPhP by factor of 104. This study compares these important properties and sheds more insight into their applications in optical communications, photonics and optoelectronics devices

This research is ananalyst about the meaning of nationalism in mural art. The object of this research are murals in Solo, created by street artist Solo Is Solo. The figures depicted in the mural are like; Joko Widodo, Gesang Martohartono, Rio Haryanto, Ki Anom Suroto, Susi Pudjiastuti, Didi Kempot, Soekarno, dan Gus Dur. Murals of these figures are used as research samples, because they become depictions of influential figures in Indonesia. The purpose of the research is to find out and analyze the meaning of nationalism on the mural. The analytical technique used by researchers to study the research was triadic analysis developed by Charles Sander Pierce with a triadic semiotic approach. The result of correlation between research data and semiotics theory shows that murals in Solo was contain nationalism values

One way to participate in politics is to give voting rights during elections. One of the factors causing the occurrence of abstentions is the low public trust in the government's performance. This study aims to determine the relationship between political trust and voting behavior of students at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The study was conducted on a sample of 127 with a total of 47 male and 80 female respondents. Samples were determined using cluster sampling technique (FEB: 31; FH:32; FP:31; FT:33). This study is a quantitative study using the Political Belief and Voting Behavior scale as a means of collecting data. The results of the analysis obtained sig p = 0,05) which showed that there was no significant difference. So it can be concluded that the faculty has no effect on the behavior of selecting students. In addition, the results of the analysis in terms of gender obtained sig p = 0,226 (p > 0,05) or there was no significant difference. So it can be seen that gender does not affect students in choosing behavior. However, with a much larger number of female respondents, indicating that women tend to be sympathetic towards the social environment, in determining voting behavior, women will tend to play a greater role in political participation. This study shows that efforts to increase student voting behavior can be done by following political practices that exist in the campus environment

Do Imports and Exports Adjust Nonlinearly? Evidence from 100 Countries

A country is said to live within its international budget constraint if its exports and imports are cointegrated. Previous studies that tried to verify the cointegration between exports and imports used linear models and supported the theory in almost 50% of countries. In this paper, when we use the nonlinear ARDL approach and asymmetry cointegration method, we support the long-run link between imports and exports in 94 out of 100 countries in our sample. This study is not only the most comprehensive study in the literature, but it is also the first to show that, indeed, trade flows adjust in a nonlinear fashion
