    Get PDF
Full-duplex transmission is a promising technique to enhance the capacity of communication systems. In this paper, we propose and investigate the system performance of an energy harvesting based two-way full-duplex relaying network over a Rician fading environment. Firstly, we analyse and demonstrate the analytical expressions of the achievable throughput, outage probability, optimal time switching factor, and symbol error ratio of the proposed system. In the second step, the effect of various parameters of the system on its performance is presented and investigated. In the final step, the analytical results are also demonstrated by Monte Carlo simulation. The numerical results proved that the analytical results and the simulation results agreed with each other.Web of Science68112311

Multisource power splitting energy harvesting relaying network in half-duplex system over block Rayleigh fading channel: System performance analysis

    Get PDF
Energy harvesting and information transferring simultaneously by radio frequency (RF) is considered as the novel solution for green-energy wireless communications. From that point of view, the system performance (SP) analysis of multisource power splitting (PS) energy harvesting (EH) relaying network (RN) over block Rayleigh-fading channels is presented and investigated. We investigate the system in both delay-tolerant transmission (DTT), and delay-limited transmission (DLT) modes and devices work in the half-duplex (HD) system. In this model system, the closed-form (CF) expressions for the outage probability (OP), system throughput (ST) in DLT mode and for ergodic capacity (EC) for DTT mode are analyzed and derived, respectively. Furthermore, CF expression for the symbol errors ratio (SER) is demonstrated. Then, the optimal PS factor is investigated. Finally, a Monte Carlo simulation is used for validating the analytical expressions concerning with all system parameters (SP).Web of Science81art. no. 6

Due to the tremendous energy consumption growth with ever-increasing connected devices, alternative wireless information and power transfer techniques are important not only for theoretical research but also for saving operational costs and for a sustainable growth of wireless communications. In this paper, we investigate the multi-source in decode-and-forward cooperative networks with the power splitting protocol based full-duplex energy harvesting relaying network over a Rayleigh fading channel. In this system model, the multi-source and the destination communicate with each other by both the direct link and an intermediate helping relay. First, we investigate source selection for the best system performance. Then, the closed-form expression of the outage probability and the symbol error ratio are derived. Finally, the Monte Carlo simulation is used for validating the analytical expressions in connection with all main possible system parameters. The research results show that the analytical and simulation results matched well with each other.Web of Science68327526

The main aims of this study are to achieve a better knowledge of the flood-prone area challenges and possible measures for flood risk reduction scheme based on an interpretive research study of case studies through three phases. The first examined Can Tho City as a case study to identify processes as flood driving forces associated with natural and anthropogenic characteristics. The next phase was conducted by the expert in-depth interview to evaluate the responses to flood-related issues in chosen cities (Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh Cities) and to reveal current approaches of the management patterns embedded national and international policy schemes. The last used comparative research method to collect primary reflections through France and Germany flood mitigation scheme; and the European policy on flood risk management as well as international cooperation mechanism. The content analysis method was used to answer the research questions. The study recognized some significant findings. First, both natural and anthropogenic groups of flood driving forces are on developing processes contributing negative impacts; and in combination, these exacerbate flood vulnerability. Second, the assessment on study sites frames the failures of authority’s responses regarding the current approach, constraints towards non-structural measure implementation, poor land use planning in flood risk contexts, and insufficient strategy on river basin as well as trans-boundary management. Third, European practices on spatial planning performed as the appropriate land use planning providing guidelines for adjusted directions of flood risk reduction policies in Vietnam context, primarily regulating on protecting existing and new development on flood-prone area use

Power beacon-assisted energy harvesting in a half-duplex communication network under co-channel interference over a Rayleigh fading environment: Energy efficiency and outage probability analysis

    Get PDF
In this time, energy efficiency (EE), measured in bits per Watt, has been considered as an important emerging metric in energy-constrained wireless communication networks because of their energy shortage. In this paper, we investigate power beacon assisted (PB) energy harvesting (EH) in half-duplex (HD) communication network under co-channel Interferer over Rayleigh fading environment. In this work, we investigate the model system with the time switching (TS) protocol. Firstly, the exact and asymptotic form expressions of the outage probability (OP) are analyzed and derived. Then the system EE is investigated and the influence of the primary system parameters on the system performance. Finally, we verify the correctness of the analytical expressions using Monte Carlo simulation. Finally, we can state that the simulation and analytical results are the same.Web of Science1213art. no. 257

Half-duplex energy harvesting relay network over different fading environment: System performance with effect of hardware impairment

    Get PDF
In this paper, we introduce a half-duplex (HD) energy harvesting (EH) relay network over the different fading environment with the effect of hardware impairment (HI). The model system was investigated with the amplify-and-forward (AF) and the power splitting (PS) protocols. The system performance analysis in term of the outage probability (OP), achievable throughput (AT), and bit error rate (BER) were demonstrated with the closed-form expressions. In addition, the power splitting (PS) factor was investigated. We verified the analytical analysis by Monte Carlo simulation with all primary parameters. From the results, we can state that the analytical and simulation results match well with each other.Web of Science911art. no. Unsp 228

Performance of an Inline RZ-DPSK Pulse Compression Using Raman Amplifier and Its Application in OTDM Tributary

    Get PDF
We experimentally investigate the performance of a distributed Raman amplifier (DRA)-based pulse compressor for a phase modulated signal. A 10 Gb/s return-to-zero (RZ)-differential phase shift keying (DPSK) signal is compressed to picosecond range after transmission. Pulsewidth is continuously compressed in a wide range from 20 to 3.2 ps by changing the pump power of the DRA while the compressed waveforms are well-matched with sech2 function. Error-free operations at bit-error-rate (BER) of 10-9 are achieved for the compressed signals of various pulsewidths with low power penalties within 2.3 dB compared to the back-to-back. After the compression, the 10 Gb/s signal is used to generate a 40 Gb/s RZ-DPSK optical time division multiplexing (OTDM) signal. This 40 Gb/s OTDM signal is then successfully demultiplexed to 10 Gb/s DPSK signal by using an optical gate based on four-wave mixing (FWM) in a highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF)
