Isospin Symmetry Breaking in the Chiral Quark Model

We discuss the isospin symmetry breaking (ISB) of the valence- and sea-quark distributions between the proton and the neutron in the framework of the chiral quark model. We assume that isospin symmetry breaking is the result of mass differences between isospin multiplets and then analyze the effects of isospin symmetry breaking on the Gottfried sum rule and the NuTeV anomaly. We show that, although both flavor asymmetry in the nucleon sea and the ISB between the proton and the neutron can lead to the violation of the Gottfried sum rule, the main contribution is from the flavor asymmetry in the framework of the chiral quark model. We also find that the correction to the NuTeV anomaly is in an opposite direction, so the NuTeV anomaly cannot be removed by isospin symmetry breaking in the chiral quark model. It is remarkable that our results of ISB for both valence- and sea-quark distributions are consistent with the Martin-Roberts-Stirling-Thorne parametrization of quark distributions.Comment: 14 latex pages, 3 figures, final version for journal publicatio

The current situation that the total supply of basic public services in rural areas of Zhejiang Province is insufficient and unbalanced with the demand determines the need to conduct an in-depth study on the equalization of basic services in rural areas. The article uses the entropy power method and the Thiel index method to analyze the level of basic public service equalization and the least squares method to conduct regression analysis, and finally proposes practical suggestions for the equalization of basic public services. The study finds that the overall level of basic public service equalization in Zhejiang Province during 2018-2021 is showing an upward trend, the level of basic public facility equalization is on the rise, basic public education maintains a relatively stable trend, while the level of basic medical and health equalization is affected by factors such as epidemics and the development is relatively stable, and the level of basic social security equalization is all increasing. Among the 11 cities in Zhejiang, Hangzhou has the highest level of equalization of basic services. Through the regression we can learn that both the economic level and the financial level have positive effects on the equalization of basic public services. OBJECTIVES: To investigate the safety and efficacy of combined tirofiban-ozagrel therapy for treating progressive stroke patients out of thrombolytic therapy time window. METHODS: This prospective, double-blind, randomized controlled study included 337 patients who had experienced an acute ischemic stroke between November 2017 and December 2018. All patients were randomized into three groups: 1) the tirofiban/ozagrel group (n=113), 2) the tirofiban group (n=110), and 3) the ozagrel group (n=114). The platelet aggregation (PAG), thrombin time (TT), prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), and fibrinogen (FIB) levels in the patients from these groups were evaluated before starting treatment and then, at 24h, 7 days, and 14 days after treatment. The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores were evaluated before treatment and then, 24h, 1 week, 2 weeks, and 4 weeks after treatment. The Barthel Index (BI) score was used to measure safety, and the modified Rankin scale (mRS) was used to evaluate disability following 3 months of treatment. The risk factors affecting clinical outcomes were analyzed using logistic multivariate regression. RESULTS: The mean NIHSS score for all the patients was 13.17±3.13 before treatment, and no significant difference between the basic clinical parameters of the three patient groups was found. Following treatment, both PAG and FIB were significantly reduced compared with the baseline (p<0.05). The levels of PAG and FIB in the tirofiban/ozagrel group were significantly lower than those in the tirofiban and ozagrel groups at 24h and 7 days after treatment (p<0.05). The NIHSS score decreased significantly in all treatment groups (p<0.05). The tirofiban/ozagrel NIHSS scores were significantly lower than that of the tirofiban and ozagrel groups at 24h, 1 week, and 2 weeks post initiation (p<0.05 for all). There were no significant differences in the BI and mRS scores or the intracranial hemorrhage rates; further, age, sex, Trial of ORG 10172 in acute stroke treatment (TOAST) type, baseline NIHSS and 24-h NIHSS scores, baseline thrombus-related factors, and treatment methods were shown to not be independent risk factors for clinical outcomes. CONCLUSION: The combination of tirofiban and ozagrel, as well as monotherapy with either tirofiban or ozagrel, transiently improves the neural function of patients and reduces platelet aggregation and fibrinogen formation in the first 4 weeks following a stroke event; additionally, none of these treatments increased the risk for hemorrhage in these progressive stroke patients over a 3-month period

AbstractAs hardness of the work-surface working in the train axle has a direct relationship to train axle's life-time, a surface strengthening technology is necessary to strengthen the hardness of the work-surface. In this study, ultrasonic surface strengthening (USS) method was proposed, and its fundamental characteristics were investigated experimentally. Concretely, the influence of many principal parameters, namely workpiece rotational speed n, feed rate f and extrusion amonut P of the tool, on the train axle with material 30CrMoA were investigated. The experiment results show that (1) surface roughness decreases significantly after USS, and lowest surface roughness can be obtained under the condition of rotational speed n=610 r/min, feed rate f=0.2mm/r and extrusion amount P=130μm; (3) hardness after USS bigger than that of before USS up to 24%, under the condition of rotational speed n=610 r/min, feed rate f=0.2mm/r and extrusion amount P=180μm; (4) the residual stress value can be adjusted after USS, the value of residual stress in the work-surface can reach -950Mpa after USS and the depth of the residual compressive stress layer can reach nearly 2mm. This study confirmes that the unltrasonic strengthening technology is a highly effective processing method for improving the surface quality of train axle

Fast Iterative Reconstruction for Multi-spectral CT by a Schmidt Orthogonal Modification Algorithm (SOMA)

Multi-spectral CT (MSCT) is increasingly used in industrial non-destructive testing and medical diagnosis because of its outstanding performance like material distinguishability. The process of obtaining MSCT data can be modeled as nonlinear equations and the basis material decomposition comes down to the inverse problem of the nonlinear equations. For different spectra data, geometric inconsistent parameters cause geometrical inconsistent rays, which will lead to mismatched nonlinear equations. How to solve the mismatched nonlinear equations accurately and quickly is a hot issue. This paper proposes a general iterative method to invert the mismatched nonlinear equations and develops Schmidt orthogonalization to accelerate convergence. The validity of the proposed method is verified by MSCT basis material decomposition experiments. The results show that the proposed method can decompose the basis material images accurately and improve the convergence speed greatly

Purpose: To investigate the effect of indomethacin on prostaglandin E2, regulation of inflammation and adipogenesis, and success of fat transplantation in mice. Methods: The mice were randomly divided into 4 groups: group A (free fat group), group B (free fat + stromal vascular fragments group (SVF)), group C (free fat + 200 μM indomethacin group), and group D (free fat + 200 μM indomethacin + SVF group), with 21 mice in each group. Expression levels of adipogenic genes CEBP-α, FABP4 and LPL in each group were determined. Changes in PGE2 level in transplanted adipose tissue, and changes in the expression of NF-κB in apoptotic stem cells induced by different pro-inflammatory treatments were assayed. Results: Compared with group B, the expression levels of adipogenic genes CEBP-α, FABP4 and LPL significantly decreased in groups A, C and D, with group A as the lowest (p < 0.05). Compared with the indomethacin treatment group, the level of inhibition of PGE2 in mice adipose tissue in the indomethacin-free group increased significantly (p < 0.01). The expression of NF-κB in the adipose stem cells from the indomethacin-treated group was significantly lower than that in the indomethacin-treated group after pretreatment with IL-17 or INF-γ + TNF-α. Conclusion: Indomethacin regulates adipogenesis by inhibiting the production of COX2 metabolite, PGE2. It also regulates the local microenvironment, inhibits the inflammatory process, and protects various stem cells. Therefore, it may improve the success rate of fat transplantation
