    Get PDF
This paper will consider a nonliear system of difference equations which describes a qualitative study of Bertrand oligopoly games with two boundedly rational players. With nonlinear demand function of exponential form, the local stability of equilibria and the global convergence of positive solutions for the dynamical system are analyzed

Transcription factor 7-like 2 has been shown to be associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus in multiple ethnic groups in recent years. In the Chinese Han population in particular, numerous studies have evaluated the association between the rs11196218A/G polymorphism of the transcription factor 7-like 2 gene and type 2 diabetes mellitus. However, the results have been inconsistent, so we performed a meta-analysis to assess the association. Odds ratio and 95% confidence interval values were calculated using a random-effects model or a fixed-effects model based on heterogeneity analysis. The quality of the included studies was evaluated using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. Subgroup analyses were conducted based on conformity with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in the control group as well as on other variables, such as age, sex and body mass index. Sensitivity analysis was also performed to detect heterogeneity and to assess the stability of the results. In total, 10 case-control studies comprising 7,491 cases and 12,968 controls were included in this meta-analysis. The combined analysis indicated that the rs11196218A/G polymorphism was not associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (G vs. A, OR=1.04, 95% CI=0.97–1.13, p=0.28). The subgroup analyses also did not show any association between the rs11196218A/G polymorphism and the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Furthermore, the results of the subgroup analyses indicated that the absence of an association was not influenced by age, sex or body mass index. The results of the sensitivity analysis verified the reliability and stability of this meta-analysis. In conclusion, this study indicated that there is no significant association between the rs11196218A/G polymorphism and the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus in the Chinese Han population

In order to explore the effects of different lights on seed germination, total flavonoids synthesis, and related enzyme activities of Toona sinensis seedlings, LED were applied to the seeds and seedlings of Toona sinensis. The experimental materials were ‘Hongyou Toona sinensis’. White light (CK), blue light (B), red and blue light 2:1 (R2B1), red and blue light 1:1 (R1B1), red and blue light 1:2 (R1B2), red light (R) were used for 15 days respectively, and the seed germination, total flavonoid synthesis and related enzyme activities in seedlings were measured. The results showed that compared to the control group (CK), the red light dominated illumination (R, R1B1, R2B1) promoted the seeds germination, and the dry and fresh weight of the whole plant treated with light (R2B1) increased by 55.06% and 82.86% respectively, which were the highest among all the treatments. Compared with CK and R, other light treatments significantly increased the total flavonoid content in Toona sinensis seedlings (P<0.05). Treatment B was significantly higher than other groups, and the activities of phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL), chalcone synthase (CHS), and chalcone isomerase (CHI) were also significantly increased (P<0.05), which showed a significant positive correlation with the changes in total flavonoid. Therefore, the germination of Toona sinensis seeds can be facilitated by the treatment of R2B1, and a significant enhancement in total flavonoid synthesis can be achieved by the treatment of B for Toona sinensis seedlings, effectively promoting the activities of PAL, CHS, and CHI enzymes

Observation of oscillatory relaxation in the Sn-terminated surface of epitaxial rock-salt SnSe {111}\{111\} topological crystalline insulator

Topological crystalline insulators have been recently predicted and observed in rock-salt structure SnSe {111}\{111\} thin films. Previous studies have suggested that the Se-terminated surface of this thin film with hydrogen passivation, has a reduced surface energy and is thus a preferred configuration. In this paper, synchrotron-based angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, along with density functional theory calculations, are used to demonstrate conclusively that a rock-salt SnSe {111}\{111\} thin film epitaxially-grown on \ce{Bi2Se3} has a stable Sn-terminated surface. These observations are supported by low energy electron diffraction (LEED) intensity-voltage measurements and dynamical LEED calculations, which further show that the Sn-terminated SnSe {111}\{111\} thin film has undergone a surface structural relaxation of the interlayer spacing between the Sn and Se atomic planes. In sharp contrast to the Se-terminated counterpart, the observed Dirac surface state in the Sn-terminated SnSe {111}\{111\} thin film is shown to yield a high Fermi velocity, 0.50×1060.50\times10^6m/s, which suggests a potential mechanism of engineering the Dirac surface state of topological materials by tuning the surface configuration.Comment: 12 pages, 13 figures, supplementary materials include

Assessing efficiency in sustainable allocation of agricultural scientific and technological talent: a spatial-temporal analysis in China

Efficient allocation of agricultural scientific and technological talents (ASTTs) is crucial for agricultural innovation and economic development. This study aims to systematically evaluate ASTTs’ allocation efficiency in provincial agricultural research institutions in China, aiding decision-making for local governments and research bodies. Utilizing data from 2009 to 2019 across 31 provinces, an output-oriented data envelopment analysis model measures ASTTs’ allocation efficiency and analyzes its trends, regional differences, and spatial characteristics. Results show: (1) Provincial ASTTs’ mean comprehensive technical efficiency (CTE) in China was 0.786, with room for improvement. (2) Enhanced CTE was driven by scale efficiency improvements, while pure technical efficiency declined, indicating a need for better management systems and technology applications. (3) Disparities in ASTTs’ allocation efficiency among provinces decreased, with higher efficiencies in the East and Central-Southern China regions. At the provincial level, areas like Jiangsu, Shandong, Henan, and Sichuan demonstrated relatively high ASTTs allocation efficiencies. (4) Spatial agglomeration of ASTTs’ allocation efficiency was localized in a few major agricultural provinces without a significant overall effect. These findings advocate for further optimization of ASTTs’ regional layout and management mechanisms in China
