¿Es posible una política diferencial de investigación e innovación?

Cuando se habla de innovación, además de investigación, se hace evidente la necesidad de políticas diferenciales para fomentar tanto los procesos de investigación como los de creación: dos áreas que aunque encuentran grandes similitudes, también tienen grandes diferencias como los métodos y las disciplinas involucradas, entre otras. Esta conclusión se deriva de una reflexión que retrocede en la historia del pensamiento y de las ciencias para entender cómo, poco a poco, estos se fueron dividiendo en distintos tipos de disciplinas. Primero, entre ciencias “duras” y ciencias “blandas”, según su relación con un paradigma único o con varios, que pueden coexistir. Segundo, de acuerdo con su capacidad de aplicación. Tercero, dependiendo de si tenían como objeto de estudio un sistema vivo o no. La diferencia se vuelve más aguda en la actualidad, pues aunque se reconozcan la investigación y la innovación en distintas disciplinas –científicas, humanidades y creativas– cada colectivo de académicos e investigadores se diferencia y jerarquiza en virtud de su grado de cercanía con otras perspectivas propias del área académica, como la docencia, la investigación pura o el servicio

ONTOGENY OF THE DIET IN ANURANS (AMPHIBIA) COLLECTED AT LA VIEJA RIVER BASIN IN THE DEPARMENTO OF QUINDIO (COLOMBIA)

The diet was examined for three anuran species Rhinella marina (Bufonidae), Pristimantis achatinus (Strabomantidae) and Dendropsophus columbianus (Hylidae) that inhabit agroecosystems at the Rio La Vieja Basin (Quindio, Colombia). The goal of this study was to establish if there is an ontogenetic change in the diet of all species. Gastrointestinal contents were preserved in 70% ethanol and identified to the lowest possible taxonomic level. Identified prey portions were classified into 20 types. Hymenoptera, Coleoptera and Hemiptera were the most frequent preys. Considerable dietary overlap among three different body-size classes of all species show some differences. However the ANOVA analysis showed that there was no significant difference (P=0.05) in diets at different ontogenetic sizes

An approach to the nomenclature of anuran musculature

Se propone un método particular para seleccionar, de los nombres ya existentes, el más apropiado para cada músculo, y un método general para escoger los nombres apropiados de las estructuras anatómicas. Estos nombres están basados en los Nomina Anatomica y en el Código de Nomenclatura Zoológica. Se utiliza la ley de prioridad para seleccionar el nombre del músculo, y se discuten los criterios de homología primaria, homología secundaria e identidad topográfica para reforzar la idea de estabilidad nomenclatural. Se sugiere una secuencia para establecer la correspondencia entre los nombres y la homología de las estructuras, comenzando con la identificación de la correspondencia topológica (homología primaria) y terminando con el reconocimiento de la identidad topográfica y las homologías secundarias.A new nomenclature of anuran muscles and a general method to choose the appropriate names of anatomical structures are proposed. These names are based on the Nomina Anatomica and on the Code of Zoological Nomenclature. The law of priority is used to select the muscle name to adopt, and the criteria of primary homology, secondary homology, and topographic identity are discussed to encourage the idea of nomenclatural stability of anatomical structures. A sequence to establish a correspondence between names and the homology of structures is suggested, beginning with the identification of topological correspondence (primary homology) and ending with the recognition of the topographic identity and secondary homologies.Asociación Herpetológica Argentina (AHA

Classification and sensitivity of taxonomic and functional diversity indices of anurans in the Andean coffee cultural landscape

Taxonomical and functional facets of diversity are crucial to imderstanding the effects of landscape transformaron on species assemblages, although there is a lack of consensus on the degree of congruence between diversity’ indices across land-uses. We evaluated the effect of natural and anthropogenic land cover types on anurans in the Andean región of Colombia. Changes between land cover types were detected but no effect of dimatic season on the structure of anuran assemblages. Species with larger body sizes showed a greater affínity for anthropogenic land cover types. We analyzed the functional facet of diversity- (based on diet and morpho-logical traits) and discovered that the degree of congruence with taxonomic diversity metrics changed when comparing different land cover types. We evidenced a strong effect of the type of vegetation cover on the Hill numbers (from zero to third orders) for functional diversity’ but not for the other taxonomic diversity indices. Of all the diversity metrics evaluated, we found that Rao’s quadratic entropy, functional dispersión, and average functional diversity were the most sensitive indices to land-use change. Surprisingly, the surrounding of houses, the land cover type with the greater degree of anthropogenic intervention had the higher valúes of functional diversity, suggesting broader types of species resource acquisition. These results suggest the importance of landscape mosaics in the conservation of different facets of anuran diversity. We also emphasize the importance of measuring anuran functional traits to understand more comprehensively the effects of landscape trans-formation at the assemblage level and to appropriately direct conservation and management actions.N/

Phylogenetic analysis whithin the pristimantis unistrigatus (anura, craugastoridae) group based on morphological characters

We present a phylogenetic analysis within the Pristimantis unistrigatus group (Anura, Craugastoridae) of Colombia. Characters from the superficial muscles of the hands and feet as well as external characters were taken for analysis. Most of the muscle characters were observed directly, and some were taken from the literature. Similarly, the external ones were taken mostly from the original descriptions and others from the literature as well. Two matrices were constructed, as the species belonging to this group have changed in recent years with respect to the initially proposed when the group was defined. The results lead us to conclude that the group is not monophyletic, although there are some relationships that are worth to survey because they are kept in the very last cladograms obtained for both proposals. It is suggested that these last relationships should be explored in particular, and the overall group in general, increasing the number of characters and taxa that belong to P. unistrigatus. An open question we left is whether actually is worth to keep these informal taxonomic hierarchy called group within the genera of anurans

Characterization of accommodation service in the business tourism at the city of Monterrey depending on it differentiating capabilities

El turismo ha sido y es aún una de las actividades económicas más dinámicas y con mayor potencial de crecimiento mundial. Hoy en día es cada vez más reconocida como un sector de actividades con grandes beneficios para los países, por su capacidad para impulsar mayores relaciones con el resto del mundo y además por su potencial en la generación de divisas, por la creación de empleos, y por sus aportaciones potenciales para el desarrollo de las regiones en desarrollo. Este artículo presenta un análisis de hoteles dedicados al turismo de negocios en Monterrey, México para generar el conocimiento necesario sobre el perfil del turismo de negocios en la ciudad y sobre las características claves que estos hoteles deben tener, de acuerdo con la literatura investigada, para poder generar estrategias de operación efectivas que les permitan competir y ser sustentables dentro del sector en el que se desempeñan, tanto nacional como internacionalmente.Abstract: The tourism has been and is still one of the most dynamic economic activities and with major potential of world growth. Nowadays it is recognized increasingly as a sector of activities by big benefits for the countries, for his aptitude to stimulate major relations with the rest of the world and in addition for his potential in the generation of currencies, for the creation of employments, and for his potential contributions to the development of the regions. This paper presents an analysis of hotels dedicated to the business tourism in Monterrey, México to generate the necessary knowledge on the profile of the business tourism in the city and on the key characteristics that these hotels must have, in agreement with the literature investigated, to be able to generate effective strategies of operation that allow to compete and to be sustainable inside the sector in which they work, national and international

Teaching support material on the history of local medicine in Pinar del Río

Introducción: el estudio de la historia local de la medicina aporta relevantes saberes sobre la actividad del hombre en la sociedad.Objetivo: validar un material de apoyo a la docencia sobre historia de la medicina local pinareña.Métodos: investigación de desarrollo en la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de Pinar del Río, durante el período de septiembre 2018 a diciembre de 2020. La muestra estuvo conformada por 69 estudiantes de segundo año de la carrera de Medicina y 26 profesores licenciados en Historia y Ciencias Sociales. Para el montaje digital y procesamiento se utilizó Adobe Master Colection CS6.Resultados: se configuró para hojas de papel formato A4, 21 cm x 29,7 cm, formado por seis capítulos y 280 páginas. El 96,15 de los profesores calificaron todos los indicadores como adecuados, el 100 % se evaluó como adecuado el valor como medio de enseñanza. Según criterio de los estudiantes, todos los indicadores recibieron calificaciones de adecuadas o superior por parte del 97,10 % de los estudiantes, donde la categoría 4 (valor como medio de enseñanza), fue evaluada como muy adecuada por el 50,73 %.Conclusiones: se confeccionó un medio de enseñanza sobre la historia de la medicina local, el cual fue evaluado como adecuado para integrar los contenidos de historia de la medicina local pinareña, con una adecuada estructura pedagógica para el logro de un aprendizaje significativo y contextualización de los contenidos y de gran valor como medio de enseñanza.Introduction: The study of the local history of medicine provides relevant knowledge about man's activity in society.Objective: to validate a teaching support material on the history of local medicine in Pinar del Rio.Methods: development research in the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Pinar del Río, during the period from September 2018 to December 2020. According to students' criteria, all indicators received ratings of adequate or higher by 97,10 % of the students, where category 4 (value as a teaching medium), was evaluated as very adequate by 50,73 %.Conclusions: A teaching medium on the history of local medicine was made, which was evaluated as adequate to integrate the contents of the history of local medicine in Pinar del Río, with an adequate pedagogical structure for the achievement of significant learning and contextualization of the contents and of great value as a teaching medium
