AIM:To investigate the reasons of the barriers to free cataract surgery in suburban area of one city in middle China.
METHODS: From 2008 to 2009, in Sight Rehabilitation Programme of Cataract in suburban district of one city in middle China, all visually significant cataract patients screened were questioned about why he/she did not accept free cataract surgery. The answers were recorded and analyzed.
RESULTS: Of 892 screened patients, only 387 patients(43.39%)wanted a free cataract surgery at first. At last 490 patients(54.93%)accepted free surgery. The main reasons for patients who did not accept free surgery include: be afraid of surgery and wanting other treatments(193, 21.64%), thinking the eyesight was enough for daily life(148, 16.59%), worrying about that the result would not be good as those paid for surgery(147, 16.48%), and other reasons(17, 1.91%).
CONCLUSION: The reasons of the barriers to free cataract surgery include patients' ignorance, surgery outcome of patients around, and working mode of designated surgical hospital

MIXGAN: Learning Concepts from Different Domains for Mixture Generation

In this work, we present an interesting attempt on mixture generation: absorbing different image concepts (e.g., content and style) from different domains and thus generating a new domain with learned concepts. In particular, we propose a mixture generative adversarial network (MIXGAN). MIXGAN learns concepts of content and style from two domains respectively, and thus can join them for mixture generation in a new domain, i.e., generating images with content from one domain and style from another. MIXGAN overcomes the limitation of current GAN-based models which either generate new images in the same domain as they observed in training stage, or require off-the-shelf content templates for transferring or translation. Extensive experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of MIXGAN as compared to related state-of-the-art GAN-based models.Comment: Accepted by IJCAI-ECAI 2018, the 27th International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence and the 23rd European Conference on Artificial Intelligenc

In the title compound, C21H30N2O5S, the plane of the dimethyl–thiocarbamic group makes a dihedral angle of 78.41 (7)° with the central benzene ring. One of the carbonyl groups in the α,β-unsaturated malonate side chain makes a dihedral angle of 8.73 (10)° with the central benzene ring, while the other carbonyl group makes a dihedral angle of 81.52 (8)°

AIM: To analyze the change of serum inflammatory factors in glaucoma patients at different stages and its clinical significance.METHODS:Totally 70 cases of 128 eyes with primary open-angle glaucoma in our hospital from January 2014 to August 2016 were selected. According to the mean defect of visual field, they were divided into light(observation Group 1), moderate(observation Group 2)and heavy group(observation Group 3). Another 65 cases of 130 eyes with cataract were taken as the control group in our hospital. The observation and expression of serum cytokines in these patients with glaucoma were taken.RESULTS: There was no significant difference in serum IL-2 and IFN- γ levels between the two groups(P>0.05). The sIL-2R and IL-4 levels in the glaucoma group were higher than those in the control group, and the levels of IL-6 and IL-12 were lower than those of the control group(PPP>0.05). To observe the low myopia ratio in Group 3 of patients, it was less than observation Group 1 and observation Group 2(P>0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between observation Group 1 and 2 of patients on IL-2, sIL-2R, IL-4, IL-6 and IFN-γ levels(P>0.05). The level of sIL-2R in the Group 3 was higher than that in the Group 1, and the level of IL-12 was lower than that in the Group 1 and in the Group 2(PP>0.05). The IOP level and the proportion of myopia in the Group 3 were higher than those in the Group 1 and the Group 2 were observed, the difference was statistically significant(PPP>0.05).CONCLUSION: The levels of serum IL-12, sIL-2R and intraocular pressure in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma fluctuated significantly at different stages of the nerve injury, indicating that the immune response and intraocular pressure were involved in the process of optic nerve damage

When commutation failure occurs in UHVDC transmission system, the transient process of DC voltage and current are similar to grounding short-circuit fault. In order to differentiate them effectively, the paper introduces mathematical morphology methods to analysis the spectrum of transient current. Base on Yunnan-Guangzhou kV UHVDC transmission system, the paper simulates the commutation failure and DC line short-circuit fault under different fault conditions in PSCAD/EMTDC. By modified morphology filter, the transient signal of DC () is decomposed into six scales, and morphological characteristics of aerial mode component of is analyzed under different scales. The simulation results show that when DC line short-circuit faults occurs, wherever in the rectifier side, in the DC transmission line midpoint or in the inverter side, the aerial mode component of have more high frequency weight in ~ and decays gradually; When commutation failures, which are caused by the inverter side AC system single-phase grounding fault, phase to phase fault, three phase grounding fault or the inverter side transformer ratio increased, the aerial mode component of have less frequency weight in
