One-Dimensional Transport Calculation of Energy- and Space-Distribution of Neutral Particles in a High Temperature Plasma

    Get PDF
The transport equation for neutral particles in a high temperature plasma was numerically solved in a one-dimensional phase space. Close correlation has been found between the spectra of the emerging neutral flux and the plasma parameters. The numerical results show that the asymptotic temperature, which is determined from the calculated spectrum of the emerging neutral flux, varies from about 70 % to 95 % of the maximum ion temperature for the realizable plasma conditions. The reflection coefficient of the wall and the profile of the ion temperature of the plasma do not bring any important influence to the spectrum of emerging neutral flux

Spatial Disposition of Axes in a Generalized Cylinder Representation of Objects

    No full text
It is proposed that the 3-D representation of an object is based primarily on a stick-figure configuration, where each stick represents one or more axes in the object's generalized cylinder representation. The loosely hierarchical description of a stick figure is interpreted by a special-purpose processor, able to maintain two vectors and the gravitational vertical relative to a Cartesian space-frame. It delivers information about the appearance of these vectors, which helps the system to rotate its model into the correct 3-D orientation relative to the viewer during recognition

Mechanism of Syndiotactic-specific Polymerization of Styrene

    No full text
Perusal of literature data and some new results concerning syndiotactic-specific polymerization of styrene suggest a reaction mechanism accounting for the steric control. Key features of the proposed mechanism are stereorigid eta(n) coordination of the growing chain end and diastereoselective coordination of the monomer imposed by direct interactions with the ancillary ligand of the metal complex, a pseudotetrahedral chiral Ti(III) or Zr(III) cation, which inverts its configuration after every syndiospecific insertion step
