    The genus Lobosciara Steffan (Diptera, Sciaridae)

    Lobosciara Steffan, characterized by unusual modifications in the male genitalia, is the sister group of Dolichosciara Tuomikoski. The concept of the genus is redefined on the basis of the new material. Lobosciara includes the following species which are keyed and described: L. spinipennis (Sasakawa) (Thailand, Micronesia), L. adebratti sp. n. (Borneo), L. bilobata sp. n. (Malay Peninsula, Borneo, Sulawesi), L. latiloba sp. n. (Malay peninsula, Borneo) and L. trilobata sp. n. (Sulawesi). The phylogenetic interrelationship of the species is as follows: [spinipennis + trilobata] + [latiloba + (adebratti + bilobata)]

    The sciarid fauna of a deciduous forest in Kivijärvi Nature Reserve, southern Finland, was studied. In all, 58 species were found in a material of 247 specimens, collected with Malaise traps. The material included the following species new to the Finnish and North European fauna: Corynoptera postforcipata Rudzinski, Leptosciarella juniperi (Mohrig & Blasco-Zumeta), Leptosciarella subcoarctata Mohrig&Menzel, Leptosciarella yerburyi (Freeman), Phytosciara macrotricha (Lengersdorf) and Sciara nursei Freeman.     Four new Manota species are described from the northern part of Sulawesi: M. ashleyi sp. nov., M. axillata sp. nov., M. loriculata sp. nov. and M. spathigera sp. nov. New records are given for the following species: M. dolichothrix Hippa & Sevcik, 2010 (South Sulawesi), M. horrida Hippa, 2006 (North Sulawesi), M. ovata Hippa, 2006 (North Sulawesi), M. paulula Hippa & Sevcik, 2013 (North Sulawesi) and M. pectinata Hippa, 2006 (South Sulawesi).     Simple Summary Two-winged flies (Diptera) are one of the megadiverse insect orders, in terms of biodiversity. The suborder Nematocera (=lower Diptera) includes several particularly species-rich groups, such as fungus gnats (Mycetophilidae and related families of the superfamily Sciaroidea) and gall midges (Cecidomyiidae), the latter presumably even being the most diverse family of Diptera of all. Although every year dozens of new species from these families are being described, either from extant fauna or from the fossil record, an amazing number of species still remain undescribed, especially outside Europe or North America. In this paper, another portion of new taxa of fungus gnats is described, enabling to better understand the fascinating and still little-known world of insects on Earth. The following 17 extant new species of Sciaroidea (Diptera: Bibionomorpha) are described: Bolitophila nikolae Sevcik sp. nov. (Bolitophilidae, Taiwan), Catocha jingfui sp. nov.
