Nonlinear aircraft engine model for future integrated power center development
Aircraft engines, the prime source of on-board power, play a vital role within the electrical power generation system. In literature these are considerably simplified to rudimentary engine speed. In this paper, a nonlinear zero-dimension (0-D) order turbofan engine model has been developed for use with an integrated power center. By analyzing the compressor maps in detail, the results reveal a limit on the amount power off-take from each engine shaft at different altitudes
Higgs potential bounds on extra quark-lepton generations
We consider the bounds for the values of higgs mass and of the mass of
the extra quarks and leptons derived from the stability of vacuum
and from the absence of Landau pole in Higgs potential. We find that in the
case of the absence of new physics up to the GUT scale the bounds for the mass
of the 4th generation are so restrictive that the negative result of CDF search
for extra quarks closes the window for fourth generation. In the case of the
absence of new physics up to GeV we get weaker but still nontrivial

Topologically Stable Electroweak Flux Tube
We show that for a large range of parameters in a
electroweak theory with two Higgs doublets there may exist classically stable
flux tubes of Z boson magnetic field. In a limit of an extra global symmetry, these flux-tubes become topologically stable. These results are

Subsurface Flows in and Around Active Regions with Rotating and Non-rotating Sunspots
The temporal variation of the horizontal velocity in subsurface layers
beneath three different types of active regions is studied using the technique
of ring diagrams. In this study, we select active regions (ARs) 10923, 10930,
10935 from three consecutive Carrington rotations: AR 10930 contains a
fast-rotating sunspot in a strong emerging active region while other two have
non-rotating sunspots with emerging flux in AR 10923 and decaying flux in AR
10935. The depth range covered is from the surface to about 12 Mm. In order to
minimize the influence of systematic effects, the selection of active and quiet
regions is made so that these were observed at the same heliographic locations
on the solar disk. We find a significant variation in both components of the
horizontal velocity in active regions as compared to quiet regions. The
magnitude is higher in emerging-flux regions than in the decaying-flux region,
in agreement with earlier findings. Further, we clearly see a significant
temporal variation in depth profiles of both zonal and meridional flow
components in AR 10930, with the variation in the zonal component being more
pronounced. We also notice a significant influence of the plasma motion in
areas closest to the rotating sunspot in AR 10930 while areas surrounding the
non-rotating sunspots in all three cases are least affected by the presence of

Radiative Seesaw Mechanism at Weak Scale
We investigate an alternative seesaw mechanism for neutrino mass generation.
Neutrino mass is generated at loop level but the basic concept of usual seesaw
mechanism is kept. One simple model is constructed to show how this mechanism
is realized. The applications of this seesaw mechanism at weak scale to

Cosmological Effects of Radion Oscillations
We show that the redshift of pressureless matter density due to the expansion
of the universe generically induces small oscillations in the stabilized radius
of extra dimensions (the radion field). The frequency of these oscillations is
proportional to the mass of the radion and can have interesting cosmological
consequences. For very low radion masses () these low frequency oscillations lead to oscillations in
the expansion rate of the universe. The occurrence of acceleration periods
could naturally lead to a resolution of the coincidence problem, without need
of dark energy. Even though this scenario for low radion mass is consistent
with several observational tests it has difficulty to meet fifth force
constraints. If viewed as an effective Brans-Dicke theory it predicts
( is the number of extra dimensions), while
experiments on scales larger than imply . By deriving the
generalized Newtonian potential corresponding to a massive toroidally compact
radion we demonstrate that Newtonian gravity is modified only on scales smaller
than . Thus, these constraints do not apply for
(high frequency oscillations) corresponding to scales less than the current
experiments (). Even though these high frequency oscillations can not
resolve the coincidence problem they provide a natural mechanism for dark
matter generation. This type of dark matter has many similarities with the

Search for the Rare Decays J/Psi --> Ds- e+ nu_e, J/Psi --> D- e+ nu_e, and J/Psi --> D0bar e+ e-
We report on a search for the decays J/Psi --> Ds- e+ nu_e + c.c., J/Psi -->
D- e+ nu_e + c.c., and J/Psi --> D0bar e+ e- + c.c. in a sample of 5.8 * 10^7
J/Psi events collected with the BESII detector at the BEPC. No excess of signal
above background is observed, and 90% confidence level upper limits on the
branching fractions are set: B(J/Psi --> Ds- e+ nu_e + c.c.)<4.8*10^-5, B(J/Psi

Subsurface Meridional Circulation in the Active Belts
Temporal variations of the subsurface meridional flow with the solar cycle
have been reported by several authors. The measurements are typically averaged
over periods of time during which surface magnetic activity existed in the
regions were the velocities are calculated. The present work examines the
possible contamination of these measurements due to the extra velocity fields
associated with active regions plus the uncertainties in the data obtained
where strong magnetic fields are present. We perform a systematic analysis of
more than five years of GONG data and compare meridional flows obtained by
ring-diagram analysis before and after removing the areas of strong magnetic
field. The overall trend of increased amplitude of the meridional flow towards
solar minimum remains after removal of large areas associated with surface
activity. We also find residual circulation toward the active belts that
persist even after the removal of the surface magnetic activity, suggesting the

Search for the Flavor-Changing Neutral Current Decay with the HERA-B Detector
We report on a search for the flavor-changing neutral current decay using events recorded with a dimuon trigger in
interactions of 920 GeV protons with nuclei by the HERA-B experiment. We find
no evidence for such decays and set a 90% confidence level upper limit on the
